3 Important safety and legal Information We have taken all measures to ensure the BabyPing Video Monitor meets the highest safety standards but it must be setup and used correctly. Please take a few moments to read through the following information: The BabyPing Video Monitor is only for use as a parenting aid for monitoring your baby/child in safe conditions while you are in the same house. The BabyPing Video Monitor should not be used to replace adult supervision and you should still regularly check on your baby/child. You should only use the BabyPing Video Monitor if your baby/child is healthy, it should not be used to replace equipment for monitoring a baby/child with special medical needs. Before and during use, ensure all cables attached to the BabyPing Video Monitor are secure and are out of reach of baby. Please use the cable clips provided to ensure that cables are firmly secured before placing the BabyPing Video Monitor near your child. Do not place in high humidity environments such as showers, bathrooms or outdoors. Keep away from liquids. Do not disassemble. Contains small parts which may pose a choking hazard to young children. Only use approved accessories and power supply. Infrared LED lights produce heat and can be a fire hazard. Do not cover the BabyPing Video Monitor when in operation. Ensure the BabyPing Video Monitor is properly mounted before use. Direct sunlight and reflections may damage the lens. 4 Thank you for choosing the BabyPing Video Monitor The video monitor designed for modern parents who want to view, hear and monitor their baby through Apple iphone, ipad or ipod Touch (idevices). How BabyPing works: Your Wi-Fi network The BabyPing Video Monitor connects to your network with either Wi-Fi or network cable. For extra protection you can set an access password for your BabyPing Video Monitor to restrict viewing access within your network. Only idevices within your home network can access your BabyPing Video Monitor (except if using BabyPing+). The BabyPing Video Monitor can be used with HomePlugs or Wi-Fi range extenders should you need to cover excessive distances.
5 Easy setup Setup the Monitor with your network directly from the BabyPing app on your idevice. No computer needed. SmartFilter Optional audio filter cuts out background noise and static so you are only alerted when your baby cries. Constant-Connect A constant tether between Monitor and your idevice alerts you to baby cries, even if you are on a call. Double-layer security Leading encryption methods plus password protection ensures you have total control over who can access your monitor. Invisible night vision The night vision uses invisible light so you can see clearly in complete darkness without disturbing baby s sleep. Zero interference BabyPing uses your Wi-Fi network so your wireless signal won t be affected or suffer from interference like some traditional baby monitors. A free network cable socket on your router Just for setup. Your router was most likely given to you by your Internet provider. Your Wi-Fi Password to your home network For the same router your BabyPing is plugged into. Not needed for network cable connection.
7 The BabyPing Video Monitor Front Microphone 30 infrared LEDs Lights up room with invisible light Light sensor Detects when to automatically switch to night vision Rear Lens Status LED Turns off when room is dark and Monitor goes into night vision mode, to minimise disturbance Reset button Will reset the Monitor to factory default settings Screw mount Heat vents Network cable socket For setting up the Monitor or to stay connected via cable Power cable socket Status LED indications: Green: All OK and ready for use Red: Booting Red blinking: Connection failure No light: No power or on night vision Tip: The camera may blink red for several seconds between booting and connecting successfully. This is completely normal and means your camera is connecting correctly!

9 2 Install the BabyPing app 1. Connect your idevice to your Wi-Fi network Note: This should be the same Wi-Fi network being broadcast from the router in Step 1 2. Find the BabyPing app in the App Store Tm Search for BabyPing OR Scan the QR code to get to the download page (QR scanner app required): Or visit www.babyping.com/app/install 3. Install the BabyPing app
10 3 Connecting Monitor to your network 1. Run the BabyPing app 2. Connect to your network with Wi-Fi or cable OR and skip step 3 3. Wait for the BabyPing app to confirm Wi-Fi is setup, then unplug the network cable from video monitor and router Note: Don t worry. If you unplug the power, the Monitor will save your settings.
11 4 Mounting the Monitor 1. Mount the Monitor on wall or a shelf near the baby OR! Notice: 2m Do not attach to, or place on, the crib directly. Place the BabyPing Video Monitor about 2m away from your baby s crib for optimal sound. Use the included cable clips to guide and secure the cable. 2. Tighten ball joint with a coin to fix into position You re now ready to use BabyPing!
12 Multitasking with BabyPing Monitor & Multitask with Audio mode On your idevice, BabyPing remains active in the background even if your device is on standby. You can continue to carry out other tasks such as sending emails and still be connected to your baby Note: The ipad is not recording sound or video from BabyPing even if it displays BabyPing (Recording) This is just the standard way the ipad shows audio monitoring apps running in the background. Notification mode When you are on a call or using another application that uses sound the BabyPing app will stop playing audio, but you will still receive a message each time your baby is crying, see fig. 1 and 2. If you tap the message the BabyPing app will open and start the video stream. Fig. 1 Fig. 2
13 BabyPing+ setup and usage BabyPing+ is a fantastic feature that allows you to view your baby from outside your home network, and even share access to your monitor with family and friends. The following steps will show you how to enable this feature: Setup BabyPing 1 Set up your BabyPing monitor as normal on your home network (the BabyPing User Guide will show you how). 2 Open the BabyPing app so you can view your baby Go to Settings 3 Go to the Settings page Open the BabyPing+ option 4 Inside Settings, tap on the BabyPing+ option Enable BabyPing+ 5 On the BabyPing+ screen that follows, swipe the BabyPing+ access slider from OFF to ON
14 Invite yourself or others 6 Now you have enabled BabyPing+ access, select BabyPing+ user management and send an invite to your family or friends using the icon on the top right of the screen. About the invite The invite you send includes a uniquely generated ID which can be used to open an account in the BabyPing+ app. A link to download the BabyPing+ app is included in the invite. If the invite email isn t received within a few minutes, don t worry. Simply tap Invite by email again and when the email pops up on screen, take note of this information and use it in the BabyPing+ app, or send it to any other email address. Tip: You can send as many generated invites as you like, but each unique ID can only be used once to register an account.
15 Download & install BabyPing+ 7 If you ve sent an invite to yourself, check your messages and follow the installation to download BabyPing+ Create your BabyPing+ account 8 Open the BabyPing+ and tap Create an account abc@ymail.com ********* ********* Complete account creation 9 Enter your email and choose a password as prompted. You ll need these to login every time you use the BabyPing+ app. View the Terms and Conditions, press Yes to agree and tap Create account.
16 Add the unique ID 10 On the next screen enter the MAC address and security ID that were included in your invite email and tap Connect. Your BabyPing+ account has been created! Now you can enjoy viewing your baby from anywhere. Manage users 11 Once an invite has been accepted you can see who has accepted and used the invite by returning to User Management in the standard BabyPing app. You can find this under the Settings menu. Tip: Click on a users email to see their IP address, the last time they viewed and to stop access for the user. 17 Usage tips Using BabyPing at a friend s house When going to a friend s house or travelling you need your: BabyPing Video Monitor BabyPing Video Monitor power supply 1m network cable idevice Friend s Wi-Fi password Connecting BabyPing Video Monitor to someone else s network: 1 Connect Your BabyPing Video Monitor to your friend s router with a network cable 2 Connect your idevice to your friend s Wi-Fi network 3 Open the BabyPing app and open settings when your BabyPing Video Monitor is connected 4 Open Wi-Fi setup and input your friend s Wi-Fi password 5 Wait for BabyPing Video Monitor to verify connection 6 Remove network cable and the BabyPing Video Monitor is ready to use. Use BabyPing on multiple idevices You can use BabyPing with more than one idevice at the same time. Due to home network bandwidth limitations, we do not recommend using more than 3 devices to access the BabyPing Video Monitor at any one time to ensure alerts are continued to be received.
18 Troubleshooting Problem: The BabyPing app shows No BabyPing Video Monitor found The BabyPing Video Monitor is blinking red (connection failure) I have changed my Wi-Fi password and BabyPing Video Monitor is blinking red The BabyPing app shows a Wi-Fi is disconnected warning The BabyPing app shows Low Wi-Fi signal level warning The video has a large delay or not performing well I have forgotten my BabyPing access password Possible solutions: Try to search again with the BabyPing app Try to disconnect and reconnect power cable to BabyPing Video Monitor Make sure your idevice is connected to your Wi-Fi and the connection is working The BabyPing Video Monitor may be out of Wi-Fi range. Try to test monitor closer to your Wi-Fi router or use network cable 1. Connect your BabyPing Video Monitor to your router with a network cable 2. Open the app, input the new Wi-Fi password under settings in the BabyPing app Make sure your idevice is connected to your Wi-Fi Reposition BabyPing Video Monitor or your Wi-Fi router to get better signal strength Alternatively to Wi-Fi, use BabyPing on network cable Reboot the Monitor by turning power off and on Alternatively it may be necessary to use BabyPing with network cable to improve performance Press RESET button on the side of the Monitor with a pin (This will also remove Wi-Fi settings and monitor name)
