VoLTE Market Snapshot - from early to mass market LTE/VoLTE attractive end-user experience generates rapid adoption rates 2012: VoLTE launched in Korea Nationwide LTE 2013: LTE is mainstream for fast data 260 commercial LTE networks 1000 of devices 2014: VoLTE launches The world s largest LTE network will turn VoLTE Several VoLTE launches already announced Terminals ecosystem still in the making 2015: year of VoLTE mass market When to launch VoLTE: Informa Nov.2013 2012 6 Nokia Solutions and Networks 2015 - Technology Vision 2020 Source: GSA, Evolution to LTE Report, Sept, 2014 & Informa Future mobile Network, Nov, 2013

Verizon Advanced calling: explaining the benefits LTE coverage No need for app: its already part of your phone VoLTE (HD Voice) will be billed exactly like regular voice calls 7 Nokia Solutions and Networks 2015 - Technology Vision 2020 Source: Verizon.com

StarHub - Customer business success with VoLTE/SRVCC January 7, 2015 Click we are the 2 nd largest telco in Singapore offering quad play offering mobile, broadband, TV and voice services We are the first and only telco in Singapore to offer VoLTE services on the new Iphones that were launched recently. StarHub s network e2e is from Nokia. It s a long term partnership. Our engineers work very well with Nokia engineers and the teamwork was fantastic. 8 Nokia Solutions and Networks 2015 - Technology Vision 2020 The biggest benefit for VoLTE is not just the ensure that SW that s in different quality of voice or the short set-up time, but handsets is able to talk, really talk, with the ability to mesh different applications network equipment together. LG U+: Beyond VoLTE: sharing and multi-tasking while calling LGU+ has launched this Concierge Service several applications that could run in parallel with the voice/video LTE call like sharing screen, music, sketch and video & photo share while chatting and talking. 9 Nokia Solutions and Networks 2015 - Technology Vision 2020 Source: LG U+: Beyond Telecom with 1 st nationwide LTE September 2014

Sept/14: T-Mobile extends WiFi Calling to all phones And gives users a WiFi router for only $25 Every T-Mobile phone can make WiFi Calls, including iphone 6. Users don t need to add an extra app. No additional costs A way to improve the WiFi calling experience by distributing home routers that are pretested and prioritize HD calls over data. Another step into the Un-carrier strategy: spread their brand and footprint in areas where they have no mobile coverage 10 Nokia Solutions and Networks 2015 - Technology Vision 2020 Source: t-mobile.com sept -2014 & engadget.com

Why operator VoLTE beats OTT VoIP Nokia Smart Labs study Battery use Data connections Data consumed Signaling load Voice quality VoLTE clients consumed approximately 40% less power than OTT VoIP clients Skype generated up to 10x more data connections in the mobile network than a VoLTE client during a call OTT VoIP apps required 20-40% more throughput Data consumption was 50% less for VoLTE clients OTT VoIP keepalive patterns created 100-200% more signaling load on LTE networks compared with VoLTE clients QoS allows native VoLTE to maintain excellent quality Native VoLTE clients had very good MOS value (3.9) and less earto-mouth delay 40% lower 10% of OTT needs 50% lower 50% - 70% reduction A better MOS, in more places 11 Nokia Solutions and Networks 2015 - Technology Vision 2020

Still early to say how VoLTE & VoWiFi will impact voice evolution, but so far we see: Is important to start evolving your voice offer to protect revenue and find new revenues with OTT-like services. Bundling voice with data is one of the options. Evolve your voice offer Support of iphones for VoLTE (iphone 6) and WiFi calling (iphone 5c/later) with seamless handover to cellular may push operators to speed up introduction of VoLTE and VoWiFi. Handsets Operators assets can bring opportunities with real-time communications. HD Voice encourages longer calls & more voice usage: happier customers - Better quality can beat free. Telco assets So far, VoLTE is charged as classic voice: per minute or in an unlimited offer. Typically VoLTE is bundled with data on unlimited voice plans. No data is deducted. In Japan, video calls data charges are not deducted temporarily. VoLTE pricing VoLTE (like LTE itself) was initially driven by operators that wanted to use WCDMA networks. Main benefits are spectrum efficiency and an attractive offer: HD voice quality and richer services to help protect revenue against competition and OTT. VoLTE drivers VoWiFi is being driven by LTE operators that want to provide better indoor coverage at no extra charge VoWiFi drivers 12 Nokia Solutions and Networks 2015 - Technology Vision 2020
