CALL FORWARD ALL CALLS PERMANENT HOLD SPEED CALL LAST NUMBER REDIAL RING AGAIN CALL PARK CALL PICKUP CALL TRANSFER CONFERENCE CALL (3rd PARTY) Telephone Set Capabilities & Instructions CALL FORWARD ALL CALLS Call Forward All Calls automatically forwards incoming calls to another destination. To forward your calls, follow these steps: 1. Lift the handset and dial 174. You hear dial tone. 2. Dial the telephone number where you want your calls forwarded. To cancel forwarding follow these steps: 1. Lift the handset and dial 174. You hear dial tone. 2. Hang up. * A set which has activated Call Forward All Calls can still initiate calls. ** Call Forward programming initiated from the set, over-rides Call Forward programming in the switch. PERMANENT HOLD To activate Permanent Hold while active on a call, follow these steps: 1. Press LINK. You hear dial tone. 2. Dial 177 * The call remains on hold until you lift the handset again or the other party disconnects. SPEED CALL Speed Call allows you to place calls by dialing a two- or three-digit code. You can use Speed Call for both internal and external calls. To use Speed Call on a Meridian 1 proprietary telephone you can have Speed Call programmed to a key and on a Unity II telephone you can activate by using the feature code. 1

Speed Call Controller To update a predefined Speed Call list, follow these steps: 2. Dial the Speed Call code (01-999), followed by the telephone numbers it represents. If the entry is accepted, you will hear silence. If the entry is not accepted, you will hear a fast busy tone. To change a number associated with a list, follow these steps: 2. Dial the Speed Call code (01-999), followed by the new telephone number. The new number automatically replaces the old one. If the entry is accepted, you hear silence. If the entry is not accepted, you hear a fast busy tone. To remove an entry from the Speed Call list, follow these steps: 2. Dial the Speed Call code (01-999) you want to remove. Speed Call User To make a Speed Call, follow these steps: 1. Lift the handset and dial 176. You hear dial tone. 2. Dial the Speed Call code (01-999). The number is dialed automatically. LAST NUMBER REDIAL To automatically redial the last number dialed (Meridian M2616), follow these steps: 1. Lift the handset or select a free Directory Number (DN). 2. Press the Last # or the DN key again. To automatically redial the last number dialed (Unity II), follow these steps: 1. Lift the handset. 2. Dial 189. * For Unity II set the last call dialed from the set is stored as the last number dialed. RING AGAIN Ring Again gives you the opportunity, after encountering a busy Directory Number (DN) to ring the DN again when it becomes free. If a dialed DN is busy, or if all trunks are busy, 2

pressing the Ring Again key asks the system to monitor the dialed DN or trunk. When it becomes available, the system notifies you. The call is automatically dialed again when you press the RING AGAIN key a second time. When the system alerts you to Ring Again, you have a limited amount of time to respond. Meridian M2616 telephone sets have 30 seconds. With Unity II you have 6 seconds. Ring Again Meridian 1 Telephones 1. Press RING AGAIN key. 2. Hang up or press RLS. 3. When you hear the Ring Again tone, lift the handset or select a free DN. 4. Press RING AGAIN, the number is automatically dialed. To cancel Ring Again: Press RING AGAIN before you hear the notification tone. Ring Again Unity II Telephones To activate Ring Again after hearing a busy signal: 1. Press LINK. 2. Dial 11. 3. When you hear the Ring Again tone, lift the handset while you still hear the ringing. The number is automatically dialed. To cancel Ring Again: 1. Before you hear the notification tone, lift the handset and dial 12. 2. Hang up. CALL PARK Call Park places a call in a parked state, similar to hold, where it can be retrieved by another telephone. To park a call with the PARK key, follow these steps: 1. Press PARK twice. *If there is a System Park extension, the call is parked on it. Otherwise, it is parked on your extension. To park a call on an extension other than the System Park extension, follow these steps: 1. Press PARK. 2. Enter the extension number. 3. Press PARK again. 3

To park a call on Unity II sets, follow these steps: 1. Dial 172. 2. Dial the extension where the call is parked. CALL PICKUP To answer a call in your Call Pickup group from a Meridian M2616 telephone, follow these steps: 1. Lift the handset, or press a DN key. 2. Press CALL PICKUP or dial 13. To answer a call in your call Pickup group from a Unity II telephone, follow these steps: 1. Lift the handset. 2. Press 13. * If you are on a call when another call comes in for someone in your call Pickup group, you must end, park, or transfer the existing call before you can answer the new call. CALL TRANSFER This feature allows you to transfer a call to another phone. To place or receive a call: 1. Press the CALL TRANSFER key or the LINK button. 2. Dial the number you are transferring the call to. 3. If ringing is heard press the CALL TRANSFER key or LINK button again. 4. Then press the RELEASE key or hang up - Call is transferred. Note: If the number you are transferring to is busy, do not press the CALL TRANSFER key the second time, press the RELEASE key and then your line key to return to the original caller. CONFERENCE CALL (3rd PARTY) This feature allows you to establish a three party conference between two calls and yourself using your phone. To add another person to the call, follow these steps: 1. Press CALL TRANSFER key or the LINK button. 2. Dial the number. 3. When third party answers, press CALL TRANSFER key or the LINK button again. 4. Three-way conference call is now established. 4

Note: If third party's number is busy or no answer, press the RELEASE key and then your line key or LINK button to return to the original caller. 5
