The wired and wireless Internet access provided by Apogee allows each resident access to the Campus Network, the Internet, and University email accounts. To set up service, the resident only needs a computer and a properly installed Ethernet or Wireless card. While the University cannot install the Ethernet card in your personal computer, most come with easy-to-follow directions. Should further installation assistance be required, you may want to contact the computer manufacturer or a private service. Devices other than personal computers are not supported by Apogee. The Housing office, the Office for Students with Disabilities, and Office of Information Technology will coordinate efforts to accommodate special devices that might be required by students with special needs. Additional network-capable devices such as gaming systems, smart phones, and DVRs are supported by Apogee. You can connect your device online at www.myresnet.com. Residents of apartment communities not serviced by Apogee may contract with their own internet service provider. In this instance, service will be billed directly to the student. The student is responsible for all required equipment and installation fees, if any. The University does not endorse, nor is it responsible for any service or issues with other internet service providers. Apogee ResNet Set Up ResNet, provided by Apogee, requires all users to setup an individual account in order to verify themselves to receive access to campus network resources and the Internet. It will only take a few moments to create your account at www.myresnet.com. To get connected: 1. Plug in your Ethernet cable or connect to the wireless. 2. Open up any web browser that will automatically redirect to www.myresnet.com. 3. Click on the link Create my Account!" 4. Then just follow the instructions to sign-up. 7

5. At the end, you will receive your new username and password. To authenticate: 6. Open a new browser window (Internet Explorer, Safari, Mozilla, etc.) to automatically be redirected to Apogee s login page 7. Login with your new username and password. 8. Reboot your computer 9. Open a new browser window to access the Internet. Apogee ResNet Use ResNet provides authenticated access to the campus network and also provides a measure of protection to ResNet users. This does two things; it requires you to login to the network in order to access campus resources or Internet resources and the IP address assigned to your system may be different than what you have seen previously. It is hoped that these changes will decrease issues caused by malicious programs distributed across the network, and will increase overall network stability Apogee does not permit the use of any routers, wireless access points, servers, or switches. Any device that assigns IP addresses (provided DHCP) will cause problems for other users on the network and will be immediately disconnected. More information can be found at www.myresnet.com/router-policy. All users are expected to use the ResNet in accordance with Apogee s End User Agreement which can be found at: www.myresnet.com. Apogee ResNet Customer Service For live troubleshooting or to report a problem, call 24/7 Apogee Support at 1 (877) 392-5615. Contact Apogee with comments or questions at support@myresnet.com. 8
