EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATIONS IC-1600 Intelligent Controller The IC-1600 Intelligent Controller is a fully intelligent panel that has a complete database on board. It operates in conjunction with the Access Gold and Access Security Integrator software applications. It can make intelligent access control decisions and store transactions until a scheduled time or when communications have been restored. It supports RS-485, RS-232 direct, dial-up or TCP/IP via a thin server. When fully populated with the MEMEX Memory Expansion Board, it can store up to 30,000 card holders, 30,000 transactions or some combination of the two. The IC-1600 has 16 channels that may be expanded using the CE-1600 Channel Expander to support up to 255 devices. It connects to a serial port at the computer. The maximum distance from the computer to the IC-1600 is approximately 100 feet. Each channel consists of two twisted pair current loops (20 milliamp). System devices, such as card readers, are connected with Enable positive (E+), Enable negative (E-), Data positive (D+) and Data negative (D-) using 22 gauge twisted cabling with shield. Note that stranded type wire is best suited for installation. The shield for each cable run should be connected to earth ground at only one end. The end not connected should be trimmed back and insulated to prevent accidental grounding. The IC-1600 is tested and approved for the Standard UL294 for Access Control Systems Units. Size: 12 1/4" x 14 1/4" x 4 1/4" Power Requirements: 115VAC @ 60 Hz, 1A or 230VAC @50/60 Hz,.5A Power Cord: 9 feet Computer Interface Cables: 9 feet CE-1600 Channel Expander The CE-1600 Channel Expander increases your system's capabilities when used in conjunction with the IC-1600 panel. It allows up to 16 devices to be connected to one host system channel on the IC-1600. When all 16 channels are multiplexed, up to 256 devices may be controlled. This expands the capacity of your system while reducing network wiring. The Channel Expander is compatible with Access Gold, Access Security Integrator and other similar applications. Connections for battery back-up are also provided. It requires a 4 wire connection to the host. This cable should be 22 gauge shielded cable, consisting of 2 twisted pair. The CE-1600 is tested and approved for the Standard UL294 for Access Control Systems Units. Size: 12 1/4" x 14 1/4" x 4 1/4" Power Requirements: 115VAC @ 60 Hz, 1A or 230VAC @50/60 Hz,.5A
