4 Controllers and Software AL-4017 Alliance System Control Panel Integrate up to 256 multiple-technology inputs for security systems in up to 16 areas. Use expansion cards to add extra inputs and outputs. The panel also has an internal siren, external siren, and strobe drivers. Communications to remote devices such as readers, arming stations, and data gathering panels are through the Alliance System RS485 data bus. 16 inputs expandable to doors expandable to 64 Up to 16 areas Up to 255 programmable outputs Up to 4 Central Monitoring Station numbers Direct access via PC connection or remote access via modem Up to 5000 data bus AL-1255 Intelligent 4-Door Control Data Gathering Panel Extend access control with the AL-1255 controlling up to 16 readers (four per door). Sixteen additional inputs (four per door) provide Door-Open-Too-Long (DOTL), Request-To-Exit (RTE), a door contact, and a spare input for each door; and all inputs can be reprogrammed for other functions. The AL-1255 supports a variety of readers and allows in and out reader configuration. Up to 12 AL-1255 controllers per system, adding up to 48 doors to the system. With 16 doors on the AL-4017 control panel, an Alliance system may control up to 64 doors. 5 Controllers and Software AL-8100 Alliance System Security Management Software This fully integrated system management software includes System Builder, the convenient drag-&-drop configuration tool. Alliance 8100 software lets you plan, program, monitor, and service an Alliance System. It maintains parts lists, prints sales estimates, and displays wiring diagrams for viewing or printing. Alarms may be annunciated on-site or reported to up to four different central stations. Full reporting capabilities include real-time event logs, history logs, or customized printed reports. AL-8100 is Windows based. 6 Data Gathering Panels and Expanders Alliance System Data Gathering Panels (DGPs) and Expander Modules let you enhance your security system s size or functionality; or simply create convenient connection points anywhere on the data bus. AL-1205: 8-Input Data Gathering Panel with integral power supply This DGP module, with integral power supply, is used for gathering inputs and providing outputs. It includes eight on-board inputs and a siren driver. Up to 24 extra inputs (bringing total to 32 inputs) can be added with the AL-1206 zone expansion card; and up to 16 outputs can be added using the AL-1813 or AL-1810 relay modules. AL-1206: 8-Zone Expansion Card This 8-input zone expansion card expands the number of zones on the AL-4017 control panel or the AL-1205 data gathering panel. AL-1210: 8-Input Data Gathering Panel The AL-1210 DGP is a standalone 8-zone input module. This DGP communicates directly on the RS485 data bus. Up to 16 outputs may be added with the AL-1813 or AL-1810 relay modules. AL-1211: 8-Input DGP with Metal Housing The AL-1211 contains an AL-1210 DGP, above, inside a metal housing with opening tamper switch. Up to 16 outputs may be added with the AL-1813 or AL-1810 relay modules. AL-1220: 4-Input Data Gathering Panel The AL-1220 DGP is a standalone 4-zone input module packaged in a plastic housing with a tamper switch. This DGP communicates directly on the RS485 data bus. Up to 16 outputs may be added with the AL-1813 or AL relay modules. Page 4

7 Remote Arming Stations: Keypads and Readers AL-1103 Keypad The AL-1103 remote arming station (RAS) is your primary user interface for navigating system programming, performing simple data entry, and controlling the Alliance System. The LCD scrolling text displays system status messages, programming menus, and all other system options. AL-1108 Keypad with Reader Interface The AL-1108 keypad is the same as the AL-1103 but includes a Smart Card reader interface. AL-1151 Heavy-Duty Keypad The strong metal construction of the AL-1151 keypad is vandal resistant. Four LEDs in 3 colors indicate area status. The unit can be mounted on brick, metal work or other outside construction. AL-1156 Heavy-Duty Keypad with Magstripe The AL-1156 keypad is the same as the AL-1151, but includes a magstripe reader. AL-1150 LED Plastic Membrane Keypad The 4-LED Plastic Membrane Keypad has multicolored LEDs to indicate alarm system and access status. Page 5

8 Remote Arming Stations: Keypads and Readers AL-1191 Smart Card Reader The AL-1191 can be used indoors and outdoors. The plastic outer case is available in several colors to match different decorating schemes. Cables are 10 feet long for ease of installation. This reader can connect directly to any data bus or directly to the AL-1255 intelligent door controller. Smart Card Reader Covers AL-1660 card reader covers, white, 10-pack AL-1661 card reader covers: red, 10-pack AL-1663 card reader covers, beige, 10-pack AL-1664 card reader covers, black, 10-pack AL-1665 card reader covers, light gray, 10-pack AL-1662 card reader covers: gray, 10-pack AL-1193 Heavy-Duty Smart Card Reader This heavy-duty card reader, in light- or dark-gray, is sealed for outdoor installations. It works well on mullions. The reader can connect directly to any data bus or directly to the AL-1255 intelligent 4-door controller. AL-1170 Reader Interface Module: Wiegand/Magstripe A module used to interface HID/Wiegand type readers on the data bus. The AL-1170 provides one relay output. AL-1410 Magstripe Reader The AL-1410 Magstripe card reader is suitable for mounting on mullions. It has two LEDs and a built-in beeper. It can be connected to the data bus through the AL-1170 reader interface module, or directly to the AL-1255 intelligent 4-door controller. Page 6

9 Smart Card Technology Smart Cards and Tags High quality proximity cards and tags have a two-inch read range. A smart chip is embedded inside. The cards can be printed with any industrystandard card printer. AL-1470 Smart Card AL-1472 Smart Card with magstripe AL-1473 Smart Tag AL-1623 Smart Card Programmer The AL-1693 Smart Card programmer works with the Alliance System to program and reprogram Smart Cards. The programmer offers extremely high security with 4 billion unique security codes. An RS232 cable and power pack are included. Page 7

10 Data Bus Modules AL-1330 Communications Distribution Module The AL-1330 provides communications through a single protected input port and five parallel output ports. It is used to provide star configuration on the data bus. 1 AL-1740 Isolator-Repeater The AL-1740 provides electrical isolation between multiple buildings. It may also be used to extend the data bus up to 5,000 feet per module (four modules maximum). 1 AL-1741 RS485 to RS232 Interface Converts the RS485 data bus into a standard RS232 bus, or extends the Alliance System data bus through a leased line. 2 AL-1742 Closed-Loop Interface The AL-1742 closed-loop module converts a Class B data bus to a Class A loop. If a break occurs in the loop at any point, communication continues in the opposite direction to ensure a continuous operation. 3 AL-1743 Fiber Optic Interface Converts the Alliance System bus to fiber optics. It allows either multidropped connection when using a single optical fiber or point-to-point connection when using two optical fibers. 1 Size 1, Size, 2, and Size 3 Cards: The Alliance modular ancillary cards give mix-and-match choices for designing the layout of your Alliance System. The cards are available in three standard sizes. The Alliance System enclosures have been custom-engineered to house many combinations and quantities of these cards. Page 8

11 Expanders, Modules, and Memory AL MB Memory Expander 1 MB memory chip supports up to 11,466 users (50 users is standard). It also expands the number of alarm groups and door groups on the system. AL MB Intelligent User Module (IUM) Supports up to 17,873 users and allows intelligent access control. AL Mb Intelligent User Module (IUM) Supports up to 65,535 users and allows intelligent access control. Only one AL-1810 may be added to any data gathering panel. 1 AL Way Relay Module The AL-1813 relay module provides 8 form-c relays that can be daisy-chained together to expand any data gathering panel. 3 AL-1812 Relay Modules This relay interface module is used for the AL-1191 and AL-1193 smart card readers to provide lock control at the door. The AL-1812 is shipped as a strip of four cards that can be snapped into single or double modules. Page 9

12 Housings Housings are available in a variety of sizes and configurations to house your Alliance components. AL-1682 Large Metal Housing The AL-1682 large metal housing can contain several combinations of card sizes; for example, the following cards can be combined with either the AL control panel or the AL-1255 intelligent 4-door controller: Up to four size-1 cards Two size-3 cards One size-3 with up to two size-1 cards One size-2 with up to three size-1 cards One size-2 with one size-3 and one size-1 card The AL-1690 transformer (24V, 100VA, Class I) is the correct power supply to fit in this housing. Height: 21.1 Width: 14.6 Depth: 5 AL-1680 Large Metal Housing, UL Approved Containing the same combinations of cards as the AL-1682, this version is UL-approved. The AL-1690 transformer (24V, 100VA, Class I) is the correct power supply to fit in this housing. Height: 21.4 Width: 14.9 Depth: 4.8 AL-1684 Medium Metal Housing The AL-1684 medium metal housing can hold the AL-4017 control panel plus a size-3 card or up to two size-1 cards. 13 Housings AL-1683 Large Metal Universal Mounting Plate The large metal universal mounting plate will fill the AL-1680 or AL-1682 large-size housings. Height :20.5 Width: 14 Depth: 0.1 AL-1681 Small Metal Universal Mounting Plate This UL-Approved mounting plate does not fill the entire housing, leaving enough space at the bottom of the box for a power supply. AL-1802 Printer Interface Provides a serial printer interface for dot matrix printers.
