The State University System Presented by the WHS Counseling Department

State Colleges Federal law requires a two tier post secondary education system in each state. Therefore you will find a university level and state College level in each state State colleges typically offer a large variety of undergraduate majors as well as graduate degrees out of state tuition typically applies to state colleges outside of California as your student is considered a non resident of that state

WUE: Colleges in the West for Less! What is WUE? If you are a resident of a WICHE (Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education) state, you are eligible to request a reduced WUE tuition rate at one of the 150 participating STATE schools in the West. Search the WUE database to see which institutions participate, and which programs they have available at the WUE rate. http://wue.wiche.edu/search1.jsp WICHE members include: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and the U.S. Pacific territories and freely associated states. Programs available and participating institutions Virtually all undergraduate fields are available to WUE students at participating colleges and universities. Some institutions have opened their entire curriculum on a space-available or first-come, first-serve basis; others offer only designated programs at the reduced WUE rate. Currently, 150 public institutions participate in WUE; not all public institutions in every WICHE state participate in the program. WUE website: http://wiche.edu/wue
