7 Degrees
8 What is an AS-T or AA-T Degree? * The associate degree for transfer program guarantees that a student with an associate degree for transfer will be admitted to a CSU campus. The degree does not guarantee admission to a specific campus or major so students should work hard to be academically competitive when applying to popular CSU campuses outside of their local area and to popular majors. Through the new program, students who complete an AA-T or AS-T will be given a special GPA advantage when applying to CSU impacted campuses or majors. Students with an AA-T or AS-T enter the CSU system with junior standing. Students who are admitted to a program that has been deemed similar will need only 60 more semester units (or 90 quarter units) to complete a bachelor's degree. The website is designed to explain the program, and to help you identify an AA-T or AS-T that might be right for you. To get started on your AA-T or AS-T degree, or for more information, visit a counseling office to learn about how the joint transfer program can help you achieve your educational goals.
9 What is a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)? Some of the University of California universities offer guaranteed transfer admission to students from California Community Colleges. Interested students must meet campus-specific requirements to qualify for a UC TAG. By participating in a TAG program, you can ensure your admission to a specific UC campus, some of which offer an early review of your academic record, early admission notification, and specific guidance on major preparation and general education coursework. Generally, the student should indicate when they first meet with the Shasta College counselor that they are interested in a TAG so that the counselor can prepare an educational plan that meets the TAG eligibility requirements. Students may submit only one TAG application per application period. TAG applications are completed in September one year prior to transfer. Students are still required to complete a regular UC application in the fall semester, one year prior to transfer. For more information on TAGs, contact your community college counselor and utilize this website,
10 Out of State and Private Some of these universities operate on a rolling admissions basis which means that they accept applications until they reach their enrollment goals each term. Transfer requirements vary greatly among these universities, but Shasta College counselors can help students plan for these institutions on an individual basis. Certain states participate in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program, which allows students to enroll in various public institutions at a reduced tuition. You can find information regarding WUE at Shasta College has tuition agreements with Southern Oregon University and Oregon Tech which allows students to obtain their tuition at the rate of an Oregon resident. You should contact a Shasta College counselor or the respective transfer institution for more information We also work closely with Simpson University and National University and have an extensive list of transferrable coursework established with these local institutions and others outside of our area
