BASIC FUNCTION Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor, the IT Systems Coordinator will focus on system administration and network infrastructure maintenance and troubleshooting. This includes overall support of the physical and virtual Windows server environment, Citrix XenApp farm, Storage Area Networks, as well as maintenance of the LAN, WAN, VoIP and wireless networks to ensure network performance meets District satisfaction. The Systems Coordinator will provide advanced server and network troubleshooting support for the entire organization. This position will also assist end users with technical issues. Reports to: Information Technology Supervisor ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Install, configure, and optimize system servers Windows Server 2008 and 2003 administration Microsoft Exchange and BlackBerry Enterprise Server configuration and maintenance Server virtualization utilizing VMWare or HyperV SAN storage administration Administer Active Directory (including Group Policy configuration), DNS, & DHCP in a Windows 2003/2008 domain
Maintain and support Citrix XenApp farm including configuration and performance management of XenApp servers, Web Interface, user profiles and end user troubleshooting and support Manage backup and recovery systems Perform daily systems monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes as well as security compliance (e.g. security patches, virus protection) and performance optimization Determine the cause of server malfunctions involving both hardware and operating system or application, and resolve as needed to restore system functionality Support and troubleshoot District s Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), VoIP, and wireless systems Responsible for the deployment and configuration of networking equipment including Switches and Routers Maintain Firewall and DMZ operability and security Maintain MS SQL server functionality and assist various departments with troubleshooting and upkeep Provide troubleshooting for District applications Assist IT staff with end user IT work order requests Responsible for keeping IT Supervisor up to date on any outstanding system related issues, new requirements, or resource needs Maintain documentation as it relates to network functions, maintenance, repairs and system architecture Assist with technology planning through ongoing research Perform other duties as assigned by IT Supervisor, Division Director, or Executive Director Required Skills: ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES Minimum 3 years experience extensively administering, at minimum, a Windows Server 2003 environment Ability to configure and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server (2003 and/or 2010) Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory/GPO, DHCP, DNS, and Windows security
