1 Computer/Application Support Specialist Computer/Application Support Specialist 1 Typical Functions: Preferred This function requires business work experience with Windows XP, IT experience, work experience with Office Productivity Suites and Commercial Off-the-Shelf applications. The following job requirements are specific for this job: Installation and maintenance of new and redeployment of PC s, printers and PDA devices; Perform User account and LDAP account creation; Install, configure and/or customize software and ensures that the configurations meet agency requirements; Monitor Help Desk Problem Tracking Systems for end user requests; Provide application support for Microsoft Office Applications; Participates in the decommissioning of computer equipment including: performing all aspects of the surplus process for PC disposal including identifying equipment, filling out all necessary forms and oversee the removal of retired equipment. 2 Typical Functions: The following job requirements are specific for this job: Provide complete desktop support, on-site and remote for all LAN users including: Performing all imaging and/or re-imaging of PC s; Installing and maintaining new and redeployed PC s, printers and PDA devices; Performing hardware/software patching; Performing User Account and LDAP account creation; Collecting information needed for new installations or modifications to existing configurations; Adding software as needed including Operating Systems, Office Productivity Suites and special applications; Running diagnostic software to ensure that equipment operates properly and takes appropriate corrective action when required; Installing, configuring and/or customizing software and ensuring the configurations meets Agency requirements; Monitoring Help Desk Problem Tracking Systems for end user requests; Coordinating with vendors in the installation, administration, testing and maintenance of hardware and software; Participate in the selection of hardware, software and maintenance including: Reviewing workstation, laptops, PDA s and printer hardware; Reviewing requirement for Operating Systems (OS), Office Productivity Suite (MS Office), Applications (Citrix, Adobe, Visio, Project, Attachmate, QWS, Exceed, Photoshop, Mapping GIS applications, ect.) to determine if they are appropriate to meet with future needs; Assisting with proposed applications to determine any system impacts; Performing assessment of vendor automation and management tools; Evaluating and testing of Emerging Technologies. Participate in the decommissioning of computer equipment including: Performing assessment and determination of PC equipment for future use; Performing all aspects of the surplus process for PC disposal including identifying equipment, filling out necessary forms and oversee the removal of retired equipment; Liaison for Data Center Connectivity including: Installing, testing and verifying all LDAP Connections from the PC to the Mainframe; Establishing Citrix Connections from the mainframe clients to the OFT network; Installing, testing and verifying all printer connections on the mainframe network to the OFT Network; 2

3 Acting as a liaison for all Command Center issues, including granting access to the Citrix System for and internet connectivity. Setting up, maintaining and repairing all command center PC s. Troubleshoot and repair printer problems and connectivity to the mainframe LPAR s. Preferred Associate s degree in business, MIS or computer science or equivalent experience. A+ Certification or equivalent. More than 3 years general IT experience in a large scale environment More than 3 years business work experience with Windows XP in a large scale environment. The Microsoft Exchange administrator designs, implements, operates and troubleshoots all aspects of the OFT Microsoft Exchange infrastructure. Schedules, plans, and performs system upgrades, including coordinating the transition from test to production environments. The Microsoft Exchange administrator designs, implements, operates and troubleshoots all aspects of the OFT Microsoft Exchange infrastructure. Incumbent has working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Management Console, Group Policy Objects, Subnets, Active Directory Trusts, DNS and PowerShell scripts. The candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for the design, engineering and rollout of the SharePoint platform by addressing key 14

15 deficiencies, integration with other systems, solution development along with application design & consulting with customer agencies.
