The incumbent requires a detailed technical understanding f bth Micrsft Windws and varius Unix/Linux systems, and wrking knwledge f Macintsh OS X. This psitin als requires the incumbent t have knwledge and experience f general strage, netwrking, backup and virtualisatin technlgies. Excellent written cmmunicatin skills are essential and knwledge f ITIL cnfiguratin management is preferred. Qualificatins and Experience A Degree in Cmputer Science r equivalent qualificatin with a minimum f 5 years experience. The FNI has a cmbined perating budget f $30m pa and is nearing cmpletin f a $225 millin prject that includes the cnstructin f tw new purpse-built state-f-the-art research facilities; ne in Parkville and the ther in Heidelberg. The Mental Health Research Institute and University f Melburne will c-lcate with the FNI in these new facilities. Cllectively, they will cmbine their wrld-class research skills t aid in the diagnsis and develpment f mre effective treatments fr millins f Australians affected by brain disrders every year. The new facilities at Parkville and Heidelberg will accmmdate arund 700 staff and students. Reprting & Liaisn Due t the wide-spread nature f the IT prjects, the psitin is required t engage and interface with all internal custmers, which includes research scientists, students and staff. The incumbent is expected t deliver excellent custmer service. The incumbent will be wrking with the IT Team f the Flrey Neurscience Institutes, and reprts t the IT Manager, wh prvides technical guidance and directin t ensure the expected quality f the services are maintained.
