2 THE PROFILERS December 2012 EXTRUSION MARKET NEW DEVELOPMENTS Ing. Michael Schleiss, MBA CEO Greiner Extrusion/Greiner Tool.Tec Mag. Martin Etzlstorfer, MBA COO Greiner Extrusion Dear Business Partners! In the new edition of our customer magazine, THE PROFILERS, we present you with our latest development in profile extrusion: the RED.LINE system. The RED.LINE system On October 25, at our main customer event, Greiner Extruvision 2012, we introduced this tooling and machinery system, including all of its innovative separate components. It was a festive occasion, and we would like to thank the large number of high-profile customers who visited us. During the development of the new extrusion concept, customer utility was at the forefront utility in terms of increasing output, product quality, and cost savings. Indeed, you can expect innovation from us, as we have taken the lead in technological advancement. We invest a high percentage of our bottom line in R&D as we aim for the continuous optimization of our products through applying advanced developments in technology. Thus, we have become the global market leader in our field. We are proud of this fact, and view it as a sign of our customers confidence in us. Above all, we regard innovation as our responsibility toward you, our customers. Our business model Lately, there have been rumors spreading that Greiner Extrusion has acquired shares in an Eastern European extrusion company. I would like to take this opportunity to say that Greiner Extrusion has not invested in, and in no way participates in, another profile producer s business. Our window profile business model is definitely clear: we supply our customers, and we certainly are not planning on competing with them! In the middle of 2012, Greiner Tool.Tec was restructured. Greiner Extrusion s focus is exclusively on toolings, machinery, and complex plants for window profiles, including product branding and the Gruber Extrusion tooling system. In addition to the tried-andtrue premium program, Greiner Extrusion is going to offer a competitively priced economy product line for reduced demands. The newly founded company, Greiner Tech Profile, focuses on the entire Non-Window segment the technical profiles. Richard Füsslberger is the Managing Director of Greiner Tech Profile (GTP). In conclusion, we would like to wish you all a peaceful and joyous season, and we look forward to the continuation of our successful cooperation and business relationship in 2013. THE PROFILERS December 2012 3 RED.LINE & RED.TOOLING The RED.LINE system was developed by Greiner Extrusion and for the first time, the extrusion machinery and extrusion tooling were advanced simultaneously. Due to the precision tuning of the RED.TOOLING (tool) and RED.LINE (machinery system) components, customers benefit from a significant competitive advantage. Extrusion technology for the most demanding standards Working efficiently. The efficiency of the extrusion process begins with the die. With the flow.control system individual profile sections are controlled using hot or cold air. Basically, flow.control achieves a reduction in the number of rejects. In the extrusion process, water and energy are the major factors, and RED.TOOLING dry calibration is impressive with its extremely efficient usage of these valuable resources. A distinctive new feature is the PDC tank. This direct cooling system offers several benefits that enable simple and fast retrofitting and cleaning as well as the use of a centralized supply of utilities. In addition, significantly fewer instances of error, increased output and higher performance are all achieved. Working safely. The new heater cage featuring a central plug increases safety at work and raises productivity. The extremely logical combination of a single central plug connection and four fixing screws between the die and extruder prevents confusion. In addition, the dual-coil safety system with its visual controls makes working with RED.TOOLING especially safe. Working economically. Saving energy is today s buzzword. The RED.LINE system provides for maximum possible savings in terms of energy and water consumption, while guaranteeing maximum process reliability and improved handling. RED.LINE, the extrusion downstream equipment, incorporates a wide array of outstanding features to provide for optimum extrusion performance. With the use of GESS.tronic (the Greiner Energy Saving System) up to 90 percent of energy consumption can be eliminated, while reducing the noise level by half. The internal water circuit lowers water consumption and increases output. Working precisely. In extrusion technology, precision and care are the essential key words. The automatic backwash filter system used in RED.LINE eliminates dirt particles from the cooling water, therefore reducing the number of rejects. RED.TOOLING and its roller templates in the vacuum tank improve surface quality and profile quality, resulting in up to 90 percent fewer scratches on the profile. The RED.LINE system along with the RED.CUT cutting system guarantees precise profile cutting. Improved cutting quality, variable cutting speed, fast knife changing, and PLC-controlled knife heating are the distinguishing features of the RED.CUT unit. Also, RED. TOOLING and RED.LINE are compatible with existing machines and tooling, thus allowing for easy conversion and retrofitting. For further details, please visit our website at www.greiner-extrusion.at.
