Since its inception in 2002 it has been expanding in academic programmes as well as student enrolment. Its vision is to be the most preferred University in the Eastern Africa. Tutorial Assistant Medicine/Health Science (One post) i. Holder of Bachelor Degree in relevant areas of study with a GPA of not less than 3.5 Or equivalent at undergraduate level. i. To undertake academic teaching, research and consultancy services to the public and private communities. ii. To supervise seminars and practical works for students. iii. Helps to set assignments, tests and exams as prescribed in the course syllabus and fill out assessment forms. iv. To prepare marking schemes and mark tests and assignments done by students. v. To present examinations and evaluation reports. vi. Guides and advices students on matters related to their academic development. vii. viii. Assists in research work. To perform any other university duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to 3. Tutorial Assistant of German language (One post for fixed term contact renewable) i. Holder of M.A in Languages Or B.A with Education. Prior experience in University level teaching is an added advantage. ii. Must be able to communicate in English and German fluently. i. To undertake academic teaching, research and consultancy services to the public and private communities. ii. To supervise seminars and practical works for students. iii. Holder of Masters Degree in Librarianship. Prior experience in University level activities is an added advantage. i. Overall responsibility for supervisory, monitoring and administrative functions performed by librarians. ii. Ensures smooth running of library and information services as rendered by librarians. iii. To prepare annual budget and monitoring of its implementation. iv. Designing and reviewing sound library policies, regulations and strategic plan. v. To perform any other university duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to 5. Electricians (Two posts) i. Holders of Diploma in Electrical Engineering from any recognized institution with working experience of at least two years in similar position. i. To diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. ii. To make follow up of electricity connection application and monthly charges of electrical bills and prepaid bills. iii. To ensure proper usage and control of electricity in the university. iv. Supervision of electrical works carried out by contractors. v. To perform any other university duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to 6. ICT Technician (One post for fixed term contact renewable) i. Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/IT/Computer Engineering Or Equivalent at undergraduate level.
iii. Have a working experience with Ubuntu/RedHat Linux/Windows servers. iv. Have an excellent understanding of TCP/IP, IP routing, VLAN, and common communication protocols. v. Knowledge of relational database systems utilized in a network environment (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL Server and Oracle). vi. Knowledge of Virtualization. vii. Scripting skills under Linux (bash, Perl, etc.). viii. Knowledge and skills using web-based programming and applications/tools such as, HTML, XML, Java Server Pages (JSP), and PHP. ix. Knowledge of Cyberoam or Cisco Access Control List (ACL). x. Relevant IT Certifications (MCSA, MCSE, Red Hat, CCNA, A+, Network+, Security+, etc.) i. To participate in preparation of practices in classes and perform consultancy activities in collaboration with qualified ICT experts. ii. Identifies troubleshoots and resolves hardware-, software- and network-related problems encountered by end-users of the University network, the Internet, and PCs. iii. Installs, certifies and troubleshoots campus and remote-campus network cabling infrastructure, including a wide variety of local area network equipment and software. iv. Administers Linux & Windows servers. v. To maintain network & desktop printers, copiers, scanners, & other peripheral devices. vi. Trains end-users on the use and features of the various operating systems and applications on the various platforms. vii. Primary management of corporate network infrastructure including corporate firewalls, routers and switches. viii. Basic database management and administration. ix. To implement backup and security systems. x. Installs, maintains, modifies and tests web applications. xi. To implement, configure, document and troubleshoot Apache Web Server, Postfix Mail Server, Application Server, DNS Server. xii. To perform any other duties as may be directed by head of his/her department. 7. Procurement Officer (Two posts) i. Holders of Diploma/Bachelor Degree in relevant areas. iii. Advance knowledge and skills in ICT is an added advantage. i. Prepares bid documents.
ii. Supporting the rationing of the Tender Board. iii. Plans the procurement and disposal activities of the university. iv. Recommends procurement and disposal procures. v. Prepares statements of requirements, tendering documents and advertisements of tender opportunities. vi. Issues binding documents. vii. Maintains provider list. viii. Prepares contract documents and archive records of procurement and disposal process. ix. To perform any other university duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to 8. Revenue Officer (One post) i. Holder of Diploma in Accountancy, Business Administration or Finance. ii. Should be a computer literate in Excel. i. To be responsible for all aspects of the collection of revenue and should render a proper accounting of the sums received. ii. To ensure the revenue in respect of any activity is properly assessed, collected, deposited to university accountants and accounted for and to ensure all revenue due collected or of any important trend in receipt of the revenue which may become apparent. iii. To ensure that money collected is promptly and regularly banked in the university bank account. iv. To ensure the receipts are passed along to the appropriate person and that the receipt are documented accurately and timely. v. To ensure that monthly transactions are recorded by the last day of each month so that monthly adjusting entries are completed. vi. Involves in the preparation of revenue estimates. vii. Should assist other accounting personnel in completing all paper works so financial statements are promptly created. viii. ix. Produces quarterly reports to the management and university governing board. To perform any other university duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to 9. Admission Officer (One post) i. Holder of Bachelor Degree in Education or its equivalent qualification. Prior experience in University level activities is an added advantage.
i. To provide quality services to students in areas of registration and academic records and to ensure accuracy and confidentiality of records. ii. Develops and updates guidelines for admission criteria for approval. iii. Updates students statistics. iv. Administers students particulars for admission in electronic system. v. Handling registration forms and ensure that registration of students to various programs is carried out according to laid down admission criteria in order to maintain standards. vi. Coordinates students information system across schools. vii. Issues proper guidelines/policies on admission in order to capture students data and receive reports from course instructors. viii. Maintains students personnel files/records and withdrawals of students in electronic system. ix. To perform any other university duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to 10. Matron (One post) i. Holder of Diploma/Degree in Education/Guidance and Counseling/Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Community Development or Sociology. ii. Working experience not less than 3 years. iii. Must be 40 years or above. iv. Must be able to communicate in English fluently. v. Basic skills in Microsoft office application. i. To plan and direct the operation of the students welfare unit. ii. To handle problem(s) of accommodation, health, recreation in respect of students in their hall of residence/hostel. iii. To coordinate daily administrative issues pertaining to hall of residence/hostel. iv. To issue permission to students who may experience emergencies that need absences from campus for some days. v. To ensure that university laws, rules and regulations are being observed. vi. To take necessary action where such laws, rules and regulations are violated. vii. To supervise general cleanliness in the hall of residence and ground within his/her jurisdiction. viii. To keep and maintain proper residence record. ix. To develop strategies for anticipating, controlling and managing students conflicts. x. To perform any other duties as delegated to him/her by his or her seniors. 11. Office Attendant (One post)
i. Holder of a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or its equivalent. i.
