10 Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer 2003 (MCSE) MCSE is Microsoft s Premier Certification for infrastructure professionals who design and deploy Win2003 Server systems environments. Holders of the MCSE in Win2003 are recognised world-wide as the experts in their trade, commanding superior salaries and the best job positions in the IT networking field. The Windows 2003 track of the MCSE credential is designed for IT professionals working in the typically complex computing environment of medium to large organisations. Programme Type The Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer 2003 (MCSE) is an Agent Programme. Agent programmes are recognised by national and international bodies and institutes. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer 2003 (MCSE) is a CompTIA certification. Career Opportunities A typical Microsoft Engineer will be able to network services and applications including File and Print, Database, Messaging, Proxy Server or Firewall, Dial-in Server, Desktop Management, and Web Hosting. Core Networking Exams Your 4 core network exams are: Exam : Managing and maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 environment; Exam : Implementing, managing and maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 network infrastructure; Exam : Planning and maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 network infrastructure (Core); and Exam : Planning, implementing and maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 active directory infrastructure. 9

Design Exams You may choose 1 of the following options for your design exam: Exam : Design a Microsoft Windows 2003 ServerActive Diretory and Network Infrastructure; Exam : Design Security for a Microsoft Window Server 203 Network; or Exam : Implementing and Managing Microsoft Exchange Server General Elective Exam : Installing, Configuring and Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition. Assessment You are required to complete and submit your assignments to the College for marking. The MCSE Course is externally examined at a Prometric Testing Centre.
