How Setup Secure DPC 3925 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Power Adapter Home Telephone Wiring Line 2 Ernet Cable PCs Home Telephone Wiring Line 1 1. Bee setting up DPC3925 Cable modem, please ensure it is turned off. Connect RF coaxial cable from r service provider coaxial connecter labeled CABLE on back of DPC3925 Cable modem. 2. Connect r PC DPC3925 Cable modem using following method. Ernet Connection: Locate yellow Ernet cable, connect one end of Ernet cable Ernet port on r PC, connect or end one of four yellow ETHERNET ports on back of DPC3925 Cable modem. WiFi Connection: By default, WiFi access is enabled with WiFi security disabled. The default SSID Name is last 6 characters of CM MAC Address. The CM MAC Address can be found on label attached DPC3925 Cable modem or packaging box. Note: If r DPC3925 Cable modem comes with a USB port, please note that all USB functions in USB port are currently disabled.

3. If have a Telephone Service with r Service Provider, connect one end of a telephone jumper cable (not included) a telephone outlet in r home or a telephone or fax machine. Then connect or end of jumper cable appropriate RJ-11 TELEPHONE port on back of DPC3925 cable modem. Notes: Make sure connect r telephone service correct RJ-11 port. For single line telephone service, connect port 1. 4. Locate AC power cord provided with r DPC3925 Cable modem. Insert one end of power cord in AC connecr on back of DPC3925 Cable modem. Then, plug AC power cord in an AC outlet power-up DPC3925 Cable modem. The DPC3925 Cable modem will perm an aumatic search locate sign on broadb data network. This process may take up 2-5 minutes. The modem will be ready use when POWER, DS, US ONLINE LEDs on front panel of DPC3925 Cable modem sp blinking remain on continuously. 5. Plug in power on r PC or home network devices. If are connecting DPC3925 Cable modem via Ernet Connection, LINK LED on residential gateway corresponding connected devices should be on or blinking. The link LED will be green color if a 1000BASE-TPC is connected. The link LED will be amber if a 10/100BASE-TPC is connected. If are connecting DPC3925 Cable modem via WiFi Connection, WIRELESS LINK LED on residential gateway should be on or blinking. 6. Launch Internet Explorer enter http://192.168.0.1 in Address\URL field. You will see log in page. The default User Name is admin default Password is password. Click Log In butn.

7. Click QUICK SETUP under SETUP p menu bar access quick setup functions. To prevent unauthorized access r DPC3925 Cable modem change its settings, it is highly recommended secure it by changing default User Name Password. To prevent unauthorized access r DPC3925 Cable modem via its WiFi Connection, it is highly recommended change default SSID Name enable Wireless Security Mode in r DPC3925 Cable modem.

Tips Improved Permance Check Correct If r residential gateway does not perm as expected, following tips may help. If need furr assistance, contact r service provider. Verify that plug r residential gateway AC power is properly inserted in an electrical outlet. Verify that r residential gateway AC power cord is not plugged in an electrical outlet that is controlled by a wall switch. If a wall switch controls electrical outlet, make sure switch is in ON position. Verify that ONLINE LED status indicar on front panel of r residential gateway is illuminated. Verify that r cable service is active that it supports two-ways service. Verify that all cables are properly connected, that are using correct cables. Verify that r TCP / IP is properly installed configured if are using Ernet connection. Verify that have called r service provider given m serial number MAC address of r residential gateway. If are using a cable signal splitter so that can connect residential gateway or devices, remove splitter reconnect cables so that residential gateway is connected directly cable input. If residential gateway now functions properly, cable signal splitter may be defective may need be replaced. For best permance over an Ernet connection, r PC should be equipped with a Gigabit Ernet card.
