PROGRAM INFORMATION / LEADING ORGANIZATION CHANGE In an Ever-evolving Business Environment... Organizations must be able to adapt and change to meet the demands of customers, shareholders and employees. s Leading Organization Change program is a unique executive education program focused on best practices in leading organization change and design. Designed and taught by Pepperdine s leadership and organization development faculty, the sessions are highly interactive and provide attendees with frameworks, case studies, and applied learning exercises to maximize applicable learning and effectiveness. Program Description: Participants will have the opportunity to bring their own challenges and opportunities in leading change into the class for discussions and application. The program is comprised of a series of three modules (each session is two days) addressing Leading Change, Organization Design and Strategy, and Models of Change in Complex Environments. Participants who attend the entire three-module program will participate in a change project, receive personal coaching, and earn a Certificate in Leading Organization Change. The program will be held at Pepperdine s West Los Angeles graduate campus. Register early, as each session is limited to 25 attendees. Who Should Attend: The Leading Organization Change program is designed for business professionals who are interested in or responsible for leading change in their organization. While there are no prerequisites or enrollment requirements for the class, the program will be taught at a graduate level and therefore attendees should have an undergraduate degree or the appropriate level of experience for the program. LEADING ORGANIZATION CHANGE / PROGRAM SCHEDULE Module 1 Leading Change: Lessons from Neuroscience Thursday, February 28 Friday, March 1, 2013 This two-day session is focused on emerging neuroscience based individual change and development practices that increase professional effectiveness in turbulent environments. Session participants will: Learn how the brain and mind interact to influence thinking and performance. Increase strategic clarity by assessing current mindset and readiness for change. Understand how to create conditions for authentic and effective collaboration. Module 2 During the two-day module, participants will learn the principles of organization design based on the guiding values of sustainability. The session will include: Organization Design and Strategy Thursday, March 28 Friday, March 29, 2013 Experiential exercise that illustrates unconscious preferences that drive organizational design. Design, culture, and leadership needed for agile organizations. Pragmatic workshop that will use a framework for assessing and intervening in different kinds of organizations, geared toward maximizing effectiveness. Review models and applications of how to imbed sustainability and change in the strategy of the organization. Module 3 This two-day session introduces practical organization change models and frameworks appropriate for complex environments. This session focuses on: Models of Change in Complex Environments Thursday, April 25 Friday, April 26, 2013 The principles of leading change in complex environments. The strategies needed to shift the discussion from focusing on problems to evaluating possibilities. PROGRAM INSTRUCTORS / LEADING ORGANIZATION CHANGE Julie A. Chesley, PhD Assistant Professor of Organization and Management Dr. Chesley is an assistant professor of organization theory and applied behavioral science at where she is core faculty for the Graziadio School s top-ranked Master of Science in Organization Development (MSOD) program. Dr. Chesley s teaching focuses on personal and group transformation as well as the critical thinking and analysis required to successfully lead change. Dr. Chesley has also been on the faculty at the United States Air Force Academy and at Colorado College. Terri Egan, PhD Associate Professor of Applied Behavioral Science Director, Master of Organizational Development Program Dr. Egan is academic director of s top ranked Master of Science in Organization Development (MSOD) program and associate professor of Applied Behavioral Sciences at the Graziadio School of Business and Management. She has taught graduate and executive courses in personal development, leadership, team effectiveness, organizational change and development, creativity and innovation and international organization development. She holds an interdisciplinary degree in social sciences, an MBA and a PhD in Organizational Behavior all from the University of California, Irvine. Ann E. Feyerherm, PhD Professor of Organization and Management Currently, Dr. Feyerherm is the chair of the Applied Behavior Science and Organization Theory and Management department. Before earning her doctorate, Dr. Feyerherm spent 11 years as a manager of organization development at Procter & Gamble, where she was involved in employee relations, organization design, and corporate downsizing. As a consultant, she has worked with Healthways, Honeywell, Monsanto, Frito-Lay, Two Chefs on a Roll, and Boeing on projects such as improving multifunctional teams, creating learning organizations, negotiating effectively, leadership development, and managing change. For three decades she has created programs to enhance human performance, powerful leadership and insightful life experience. Ms. Lahl has been applying neuroscience discoveries to her international coaching and leadership development practice for over a decade. She is an adjunct faculty member in the globally top ranked Master of Science in Organization Development program at.
