Whether working on routine tasks or responding to a critical situation, you can now have up-to-theminute access control and video information. NetVu ObserVer App for Android should run on all Android devices with Android 2.1 Eclair or newer operating system. The application can make use of the 3D accelerated hardware for rendering purposes but it is not essential. Please Note: The Android OS code names tend to apply to a family of OS releases. Eclair is used to refer to both 2.1 and 2.0 release of the OS. You require version 2.1 or greater of Android. 2
Installation PLEASE UNINSTALL ANY PREVIOUS VERSION OF THE NETVU OBSERVER APP BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REINSTALL VERSION 1.1.11 The NetVu Observer Free App for Android and NetVu ObserVer Key is available on Google Play TM Store. Visit Google Play Store. Log in to your Google Account. Search for NetVu ObserVer. Tap INSTALL. NetVu ObserVer Free App will now be installed on your device. To unlock advanced features of the App please repeat the same process by searching for and installing NetVu ObserVer Key. 3Installation and Usage Guide
Main Menu To access the Main Menu of the NetVu ObserVer App, Tap the NetVu icon This will access the Main Menu (Server List) of the App and display a list of existing servers that have been added. There are some demonstration servers already included in the Server List on installation. 4 Getting Started
Video Replay Notes: Only Live video can be seen with the free version of the application. To unlock advanced features, please download NetVu ObserVer Key from Google Play Store. Viewing video will stream video over the network if there is no wifi network it will use 3G and you may incur data charges. Viewing video will prevent the screen from timing out and will run your battery down quickly. View video from an existing server To view video from a server, tap the name of the server (in the Server List) you wish to view video from. You will see a progress indicator while the camera list and other data is retrieved from the server. You will then be taken to the first available camera on that server. 5Installation and Usage Guide
View a different camera Tap the video once to bring up the UI overlay, then tap on the camera drop down menu to display the list of cameras available. Tap the name of the camera (that you wish to view) from the list. 6 Getting Started

Video Replay controls Tap the video once to bring up the UI overlay. Tap the video again to switch to replay controls. (Replay controls are only available by installing NetVu ObserVer Key) Minus Event - jumps one event back in time from the last video frame Plus Event - jumps one event forward in time from the last video frame Goto Time - allows the user to go directly to a time to view video Events List - displays a list of events from the server Live - gets the live cideo from the selected camera Play - plays the video from the last viewed frame Pause - pauses the video at the current frame Fast Rewind - rewinds the video from the last viewed frame Fast Forward - forwards the video from the last viewed frame 8 Getting Started
Events Scroll the event list up or down to find the required event. More events are requested as required from the server. Tap the event you wish to view video from. 1. Channel Identification 2. Goto time Enter the time you wish to replay video from. Tap GO to go to time. CANCEL will take you back to the video. (Go to time features are only available by installing NetVu ObserVer Key) 10 Getting Started

Creating, deleting, moving and sending a server Start the NetVu ObserVer Free App. Tap and Hold on an existing server. Tap one of the options available: Add Server, Delete Server Move Server Up, or Move Server Down. By tapping Send Server you can send the server to any other device running NetVu Observer. (The Send Server feature is only available by installing NetVu ObserVer Key) 12 Creating, deleting, moving and sending a server
Editing a server Tap and Hold on the server name (within the Server List). Tap Edit Server then edit details as appropriate. Installation and Usage Guide 13
Settings Servers: Use mdns When enabled this allows servers on the local network to be auto detected. Device Name This is the name that other NetVu ObserVer users see when they look on the network to share site or site lists with. Renderer Settings There are 3D rendering issues on some hardware, that is often caused by devices incorrectly implementing or advertising the hardware accelerated functions supported. Please try the folowing steps. The default is for all three of the render settings boxes to be unchecked. Force Power of Two textures -mark as checked and then retry. Force 2D rendering - mark as checked and then retry Force Power of Two textures Used while in 3D rendering mode forces the hardware to use power of two textures, even if the hardware reports NPOT extension is available. Force 2D rendering Force 2D rendering, forces the device to use a software render and scaling functions even if the device has the required hardware for 3D rendering. 14 Settings
Keep Aspect ratio If this option is checked, the video is maintained at the aspect ratio that it was sent from the server. This means that you are likely to get a black band at the top and bottom or left and right of the video, depending on the source aspect ratio and the screen size of your device. If this option is unchecked the video will fill the display. Events: Event offset The number of seconds before an event, that the video will jump to when going to an event. Installation and Usage Guide Live jump back The number of seconds the video jumps back if you are in live and hit play Server List Import server list Selecting this option allows you to import a sever list stored on the sdcard of your android device. Selecting it will take you to a menu allowing you to select the file you wish to import. Note: Importing a server list will replace the current list of servers. Files are imported from the flowing location: /sdcard/netvu Export server list Selecting this option will export your server database to file. Files are exported to the flowing location. /sdcard/netvu/netvudb_yyyymmdd.json Key YYYY - 4 digit Year MM - 2 digit Month DD - 2 digit Date 15
Debug If the application crashes it will e-mail debugging log to support to aid in diagnosing the problem. If you are experiencing problems that don t cause a crash, you can also send a debug log to support at any time by enabling the more detailed debug log and then selecting send debug log. Send Errors to developers Allows the device to post bug and crash reports to the development team Debug Logging This option is used to enable more verbose debug logging of the application. Send debug log If Debug Logging is enabled you can force the sending of a debug log at ant time using this option 16 Settings
