Overview ANVS Mobile Device Management Platform consists of 6 functional modules: Platform Management Server, User Management Tool, surveillance client, Wifi download tool, remote configuration tool, Watchdog service Platform Management Server: provides the entire service program for ANVS Mobile Device Management Platform User Management Tool: provides user and device management services Surveillance client: allows the user to preview real-time video of the device or view vehicle driving tracks, etc. via the client program Wifi download tool: allows auto downloads of device videos via Wifi Device configuration tool: allows online remote modification of device parameters Watchdog service: provides services ensuring normal operation of the server side Network Diagram of Typical Applications:

Preparations for Installation Port Check: 3 ports are required for the operation of the MVS application, the default ports are as follows: 5700: The port for the device to be registered on the platform server 6008: The port for the surveillance client, etc. to be connected to the platform server 5678: The port for the stream media of the device to be sent to the platform server Ensure no configured port is occupied before using with the following method: 1. Without opening MVS_Server_R, open Start>> Run, input cmd and press Enter to turn on the command prompt; 2. Input telnet in the command line and press Enter, if the prompt of connection failure is shown, no port is occupied. Firewall Settings: If the firewall is enabled in the operating system, exceptions are required to be set for the 3 ports above. Please contact the network administrator or

6 technical service personnel for details. Framework 2.0: Framework, which is available at Microsoft s website, is required for the operation of the platform software. VC2008 runtime environment: the same to the above; Requirements for software and hardware environment for device installation: CPU: >2.0GHz; MEM: >1G; Free Space on the Hard Disc: > 1G; OS: Windows XP, Windows2000, Windows2003, Windows7, WindowsVista 3. 9 Device Name: displays device name Device No.: device ID State: 3G, Wifi, offline; (the first 2 refer to means to register on the platform) Channels 1, 2, 3, 4: media traffic of channels (data to be displayed for real-time video) Device Address: IP address of the online device Network card address: IP address of the network card for connection between the server and the device Port: the Port for connection between the server and the device Online/Offline Time: the last online/offline time of the device Type: 6000 series, 7000 series Version: Device version information User name: User name of the current online user Address: IP address of the user who has logged in currently Online time: The last online time Video visits: Number of videos requested by the user ( )

Instructions on Back-end Configurations of Server Local parameters: Open the server side configuration program: MVS_Server_Local_Config.exe, as shown in the figure above (content marked * must be inputted). Language file (display language on the server side interface): Chinese 中 文 /English 英 文 Port for communication between the server and the client: 6008 Port for the signaling communication between the server and the client Device registration connection port: 5700; port for the device to be registered on the platform Device media connection port: 5678; port from the device media to the platform server Overtime for the communication between the server and the device: Overtime for the communication between the server and the device Overtime for waiting the device to respond: Overtime for waiting the device to respond, in seconds 3G media reporting address: Domain name or IP address of the platform server for the

11 front end to be registered via 3G methods Wifi media reporting address: IP address of the platform server for the front end to be registered via Wifi Database and Debugging Information Parameters: The default settings are recommended; please contact your technical support personnel for amendment if necessary. Recording Control Parameters:

12 It is recommended to maintain the default settings except for the disk list, please contact your technical support personnel for amendment if necessary. Disk list: the partition for the platform server to safe video data, which is recommended to be a non-system partition. 6. User Management Tools These allow management of users and user privilege, adding and modifying relevant information of the device

Login Flow 3 Select user group Add device group Bind devices to the group Input user name, password (super for both user name and password by default), server IP and port information in the login window, Press Login to enter the main menu as shown in the figure below;

14 6.2. Adding or Modifying User Groups Add: Click on Add and input user group name and select user group type (administrator or ordinary user) and click on Save; Delete: Select the user group to be deleted and click on Delete, and then confirm to delete information of the group; Modify: Select the user group to be modified, input the new user group name and type, and then click on Save; Note: The administrator can log in the User Management Tool while ordinary users cannot 6.3. Adding or Modifying Users Add: Click on Add, select the user group of the user, input user name and password and click on Save; Delete: Select the user to be deleted and click on Delete, and then confirm to delete information of the group;

15 Modify: Select the user to be modified, click on Modify, input the new user name and password and click on Save; 6.4. Adding or Modifying Devices Add: Click on Add, input the device ID, device name, SIM card number, limited speed and click on Save; Delete: Select the device to be deleted and click on Delete, and then confirm to delete information of the group; Modify: Select the device to be modified, input the new device ID, device name, SIM card number, license plate number, model, network, company, motorcade, route, driver, sex, contact number, staff number and click on Save;

16 6.5. Adding and Privilege Allocation of Device Groups Add: Click on Add Group, input the group name and click on Save; Modify: Select the group to be modified and click on Modify, input the new group name and click on Save; Delete: Select the group to be deleted and click on Delete Device privilege allocation: As shown in the figure below, select user group, and then move the device in the left list to the right list;

17 The figure above shows users of the administrator group, who have the privilege of viewing the devices in the test group;

18 6.6. Traffic Statistics As shown in the figure above, select the user whose traffic information is to be get and input the time period for inquiry, Click on Inquire to display the traffic information of this user in this period; 7. Surveillance Client This monitors the device information in real time, such as video information, geographic location and warning information, etc.;

19 7.1. Login Open the client program to pop up the login window as shown in the figure below; User: Information of relevant user set at the database server side; Password: Information of relevant user password set at the database server side; Server: IP address of the server side

20 Port: 6008 by default, which is not modified; Input user name and password, confirm server address and port, and then press Login to enter the system; Click on Cancel to cancel login and quit the current program; The interface after login in shown below; The prompt as shown in the figure below will appear if the user has no access to the device;

21 7.2. Device List After entering the system as shown in the figure below, device groups and devices to which the user has access will be shown in the list on the left; and at the same time, devices currently on line will be shown in Online devices ; warned devices will be shown in warned devices; online devices will be shown in green, warned devices will be shown in red; numbers following the device name [A/B/C]indicate: A for total number of devices in the group; B for number of online devices; C for warned devices;

22 7.3. Video Request and Stop Video Request Real-time video can be realized through the following methods 1: Select preview from the context menu: As shown in the figure above, right click on the device or right click on the channel number after opening a device to pop up the option and select preview; and then the real-time video information will be shown in the selected window;

23 2: Double click on the device channel number Select the channel of a device and double click this entry to play real-time video of this Channel in the selected window 3: Drag the whole device to play real-time video Select the device, and press the hold the left button of the mouse to drag the device into the video window to play 4-channel video of this device; To stop video request, just right click on the device list and select Stop Preview, as shown in the figure above; or select Close Video from the context menu of the video interface to close the video channel of the current window) or Close All (to close all windows of the video) Please refer to the figure below:

24 Hiding video title bar: The video title bar located below the video window displays information about the video channel, such as the text information shown on the bottom of the figure above, you can select from the context menu on the video to select hiding or showing the title bar to hide to show such information; 7.4. PTZ Operation Select the menu to be controlled from the video to enter PTZ control; As shown in the figure above, Speed X refers to the PTZ speed along the X-axis, and speed Y refers to the PTZ speed along the Y-axis, Zoom + refers to zooming in and Zoom refers to zooming

25 out, and the adjustment of Focus and Aperture is similar; the PTZ can be moved upwards, downwards, leftwards, rightwards, as well as to the upper left, upper right, lower left and lower right directions; 7.5. Video Layout Video layout: The program currently supports video display in 1, 4, 1+5, 1+7, 9, 16, 25 and 36 windows (a black window without content means that there s no video display of the device at present), some effects are shown in the figure below: 1-window video

27 1+5-window video As for 1+5-window and 1+7-window display, if you double click on the small window, it will be shown in the large window, with the video in the large window and that in the small window exchange the content at the same time;

28 16-window video In the case of multi-channel display, you can double click on the window to play the video of the channel only, and then click on the window again to return to the original multi-channel display; Press the Full Screen key at the bottom to display the video in full screen.

29 7.6. GPS Subscription and Cancellation As shown in the figure above, you can select to Subscribe or Unsubscribe GPS (Note: subscribed by default); the GPS information of the current device will be shown on the GPS panel if subscribed and not be upgraded if unsubscribed; 7.7. Warning Subscription and Cancellation As shown in the figure above, you can select to Subscribe or Unsubscribe warning from the context menu (Note: subscribed by default); the warning information of the current device will be shown on the warning panel if subscribed and not be upgraded if unsubscribed, as shown in the figure below. When there s warning of the device, it will be sent to the client at the same time to display relevant warning information of the device

30 Warning information types include device overspeed, input warning, motion detection, video loss, GPS module warning, GSensor warning, storage medium 1 abnormal, storage medium 2 abnormal, system exception, device online, device offline and speed normal; all types are checked by default; you may uncheck the types of information you do not want to receive from the context menu; 7.8. Geographic Location Display If GPS information is subscribed, you can select Geographic Location, from the context menu of the device list, the location of the current device will be shown on the map; 7.9. Vehicle Information You can right click on the device list and select Vehicle Information to pop up the Vehicle Information window, As shown in the figure below, where all information of the current vehicle is shown; you can also inquire vehicle information from vehicle information in Log Inquiry;

31 7.10. Local Video and Snapshot Recording video file and snapshotting from the client Video File Storage Directory Settings As shown in the figure below, select settings from the title bar of the window to pop up the parameter settings menu, where you can set the directory to save video files;

32 When there s only the disc for the storage instead of the detailed directory, the folder will be created automatically; When there s no disk for the storage, program error will be caused, so please ensure correct disc; Video Recording Recording from the context menu As shown in the figure below, select the image for recording and directly right click to pop up the context menu, where you can select Start Recording; Start recording with the Record button Select the image to be recorded and click on Record to start recording

33 Note: Video files saved are classified by the corresponding device ID in the preset video directory; and files of the same device are classified by time as shown in the lower right corner of the figure above, which shows the video file of the device ID recorded on ; Snapshot from the Client 1, Snapshotting from the context menu As shown in the figure below, you can select the window to be snapshotted, and directly right click to pop up the context menu, where you can select Manual Snapshot; 2, Snapshot with the Snapshot button Select the window to be snapshotted and click on the Snapshot button Note: Picture files saved are classified by the corresponding device ID in the preset

34 picture directory; and files of the same device are classified by time as shown in the lower right corner of the figure above, which shows the picture file of the device ID 32001; Real-time Monitoring from the Client Sound on: As shown in the figure below, select the window to turn the sound on and click on Sound On to turn on the sound of the device being played; the figure below shows that the sound of the device IDed is turned on; Sound off: After turning on the sound, the button will turn to Sound Off, click on it to turn off the sound;

35 Note: If the sound of the device recording is set to MIC input, only the sound output of channels 1 and 2 is turned on by default; if set to LINE input, only the sound output of channels 1 is turned on by default; Conversation and Broadcasting Conversation: Allows mutual sending of voice information between the client and the device; As shown in the figure below, select online settings and select Start Conversation from the context men to display the message In conversation on the task bar of the program; As shown in the figure below

36 Then Start Conversation is changed to Stop Conversation, as shown in the figure below The conversation between the client and the device is realized via MIC, during which period, voice from the client can be heart at the device, and during the conversation between the device and the platform, the voice from the device can be heart at the client; Broadcasting: Allows the client to send voice information to multiple devices Set the device for broadcasting: All devices accessible for the current user are shown on the left, where you can select the vehicle for broadcasting (offline devices cannot be moved) and click on to move the currect device to the right; select the group name and click on to move all online devices in the current group to the right; select any entry on the right and click on to remove the settings on the right list;

37 To move all online devices to the right, just directly click on, and all currently online devices will be moved to the right; and click on to remove all devices from the right list; Note: The device cannot be moved leftwards and rightwards during the broadcasting, you must stop the broadcasting to move the device; Broadcasting: After setting the device for broadcasting, click on, then the voice sent from client can be heart at the device; to stop broadcasting, click on Note: The broadcasting window cannot be closed during active broadcasting, and a prompt as shown below will pop up upon closing, to close the window, click on Yes.

38 7.13. Real-time Display of Vehicle Track As shown in the figure below, you can enter the E-map module, if you check Online Device, the GPS and speed information of this device will be shown at the lower left corner, and the real-time running track of the device will be displayed on the map, in the meanwhile, you can turn on the real-time video of the vehicle on the right as shown in the figure below; Show/Hide real-time video window: When viewing real-time map information, you can show or high the real-time video window, the figure above shows the layout with the map on the left and the real-time video on the right, and the figure below shows the layout with the map on the upper part and the real-time video on the lower part, you can click on the Hide button to hide it;

39 Single-vehicle, multiple vehicle tracks If single-vehicle is selected, only the real-time track of a single vehicle is displayed and it is not possible to check multiple devices; If multiple-vehicle is selected, you can check multiple online devices, and you can select locations on the map from the context menu of the device to locate the vehicle; Please refer to the figure below

40 When the real-time track information of multiple devices is shown, the display is shown in the figure below; Note: When GPS tracks of multiple vehicles are displayed, you need to zoom out manually because the system does not allow auto zooming out; Video Playback Device Video Search: allows searching the video files of the online device on the storage medium; Note: Video files of the server side and the device should be downloaded to local storage for playback; As shown in the figure below, select a certain online device and select Device Video from Video Type, adjust the start time and end time of search, and click on Search, the program will start searching all video files on the device storage meeting the requirements;

41 After searching, the searching status is ended and the searched video information will be shown in the Video Files list on the right as shown in the figure below, which shows the Start Time, End Time, File Size, Channel Number, Device Name, Progress and Status, Device ID, and the video file will be named automatically, and the name will be used when the file is downloaded to local storage;

42 Device Video Download: allows downloads of video files stored on the storage of the device to the local directory of the client As mentioned above, you can check the video file to be downloaded from the device video files searched and click Download to start downloading; You can check multiple files for downloading; Downloaded video files will be saved to the video file directory set in Settings menu; The figure below shows the downloading progress and status of files being downloaded; Play Device Video: when device video is downloaded to local directory (Note: the download must be completed), you can check the video file from the list and click on Play or select Play from the context menu to play this video; Open Directory of Device Video File Downloads: select a video file already downloaded and open the context menu to click on Open Directory; Local Video Playback: play video files in the local storage of the client As shown in the figure below, select Local from video type, select the directory of the

43 video file and click on Search to display searched video files in the list; you may double click on the file or click on Play to play this video file; Playback Speed Control of Local Video: As shown in the figure below for fastbackward; for fastforward; for current speed, there are options including X1/X2/X4/X8/X16; Log Inquiry Log Inquiry The Log Inquiry allows you to inquire the online and offline logs and overspeed logs of the device on the current day; as shown in the figure below, after entering Log Management, select the device and then the warning type (online/offline, overspeed), set start time and end time and click on Inquire to show log information in the life;

44 Input entries to be displayed on one page in Page Size, e.g.: 20 means 20 entries are allowed to be shown on one page, entries more than 20 will be shown on the next page; Press Home to show the first page, press Previous to show the previous page; similarly, press Next to show the next page and End to show the last page; Monthly Log Inquiry The Monthly Log Inquiry allows you to inquire the online and offline logs and overspeed logs of the device in the current month; as shown in the figure below, after entering the Monthly Log Management interface, select warning type (online/offline, overspeed), set the month to be inquired, check whether to inquire all devices, and then click on Inquire, to show monthly log information in the list; Press Home to show the first page, press Previous to show the previous page; similarly, press Next to show the next page and End to show the last page;

45 Traffic Inquiry As shown in the figure below, set the start time and end time for inquiry and click on Inquire to inquire the traffic information before the current login of the user; Note: traffic for login the client at the current time is excluded; Press Home to show the first page, press Previous to show the previous page; similarly, press Next to show the next page and End to show the last page;

46 8. Wifi Download Tool This allows you to download video of the device via Wifi. Its main advantages are saving 3G traffic and automatic download. Details functions are as follows: 1. By whatever mode the device is registered to the platform, as long as the Wifi parameters are correctly set, the router is connected and the Wifi zone is entered, the conditions for Wifi automatic download are met; 2. If a download plan is added to the device and activated, the video will be automatically downloaded via Wifi once the tool is opened. 3. The tool will not switch the registration mode of the device positively, however, if he device is offline in one mode, it will be automatically registered with another mode. (3G and Wifi) 4. After switching of registration mode and successful registration, the tool will continue with the video download via Wifi Login The login is similar to that of surveillance client, please refer to 7.1.

47 8.2. Software Settings After logging in the software, the Parameter Settings tag will be shown as the following: Note: All parameter settings will take effect after reboot except for interface language switching Retrials: Times of retrying after failure of video request command Retrial time: The time interval for retrial after failure of video request command Max. Tasks: Number of tasks allowed to be downloaded at the same time Disc Selection: The partition of the local disc for storage of downloaded video Space Reservation: When the space on the selected partition is lower than this value, it will switch to the next selected partition delete the oldest video file Interface Language: interface language of this tool 8.3. Adding Plan and Device Binding When switched to the Plan Management tag, the display is as follows:

48 8.3.1 Adding Plan 1, Click on the Add button to pop up the Edit Plan window as shown below: 2, Input plan name, video type, plan type, days available for downloading as well as data and time, select whether to enable 1-frame download and click on Confirm Note: Days available for downloading: is only applicable to downloading every day and refers to downloading video files from the N-1 days before to today (completed ones will not be further downloaded. N can be 7 at the most. Video Type: there are 3 types of video for selection: Normal, Warning and All.

49 Plan Type: Once for downloading once only; Daily for checking download every day. I-Frame: Y for downloading 1 frame only, which will result in faster download and giving up some unimportant frames. 3. Added plans will be shown in the plan list as shown below: 4. The default status of the plan is disabled, to enable the plan, you need to click on Download. The plan cannot be enabled if not bound with the device Device Binding After being added, the plan can only be executed after being bound with the device, and then the bound device will download device video to local disc according to the plan. Steps for device binding are as follows: 1. Check the device to be bound with the plan from the device list tree on the left; 2. Select corresponding plan from the plan list and click on Add for device binding;

50 3. Successful binding will be shown in the binding list, and video files of all channels will be downloaded by default.

51 Note: One device can only be bound with one plan; Different binding lists will be shown when different plans are selected. 4. When device binding is successful, click on Download to start downloading Wifi video Modifying Plan and Device Plan Modification The plan must be stopped for modification and cannot be modified when running. 1. Select the plan to be modified. (If the plan is running, click on Stop ), click on Edit ; 2. Modify in the pop-up Edit Plan window; 3. Click on Confirm after modification Bound Device Modification To modify information of a bound device, the corresponding plan must be stopped. 1. Stop the corresponding plan; 2. Modify the number of channels directly from the binding list; 3. Click on Save.

52 8.5. Deleting Plan or Device To delete a plan or device, the plan must be stopped because running plans and devices cannot be deleted, and after deleting a plan, the device bound with it will automatically be removed from the plan Deleting Plan 1. Select the plan to be deleted and click on Stop ; 2. Click on Delete from the plan list to delete the plan Deleting Device in a Plan 1. Stop the plan of the device; 2. Select the device to be removed from the list of bound devices, and click on Delete in the list of bound devices; 3. Click on Save Viewing Real-time Situation You can view information of the device currently downloading the Wifi video from Real-time Status. As shown in the figure below: The Description displays the channel currently downloading and prompts of exceptions or network problems; The Progress shows the time of the video being downloaded. In Message field, information like online/offline of the device and status of entering/leaving the Wifi zone, etc..

53 8.7. Showing/Hiding Software By default, the main menu will appear after opening the Wifi Download Tool, click on the Minimize button to hide the software to the tray icon on the task bar, right click on the icon to select to display the main menu or quit the software. 9. Device Configuration Tool ( Optional) This allows modification of parameter settings of the device via the cofig side: including system settings, recording settings, network settings, warning settings, startup-shutdown settings, security settings, GPS/G sensor settings, OSD/SD card settings, PTZ settings, motion detection settings and remote upgrading of software version; only accessible to Super User; As shown in the figure below;

54 9.1. Login As shown in the figure below, input user name, password, server address, port number, and Press Login to enter the system;

System Settings System information acquisition Check an online device from the tree list on the right, click on Acquire in the information bar to acquire information about software version number, hardware version number and MCU version number of the current settings; as shown above Acquisition of basic information Check an online device from the tree list on the right, click on Acquire in the information bar to acquire basic information of the current device, including date, time zone, operation overtime, device ID, company name, license plate number, driver name and route number; Basic information settings Check an online device from the tree list on the right, click on Acquire in the information

56 bar to acquire basic information of the current device and modify information including date, time zone, operation overtime, device ID, company name, license plate number, driver name and route number; click on Set to modify relevant parameters of the device; 9.3. Recording Settings Acquisition As shown in the figure above, check an online device from the tree list on the right, click on Acquire to acquire recording settings information of the current device; Open timer list and sub-bit stream window and click on Acquire to display settings about timed recording and sub-bit stream of the current device;

57 9.4. Recording Settings Check an online device from the tree list on the right, click on Acquire to acquire information about recording settings and relevant parameters of the current device; click on Set to modify relevant parameters of the device;

Network Settings Acquisition As shown in the figure above, check an online device from the tree list on the right, click on Acquire to acquire information about network settings of the current device; 9.6. Settings of Network Parameters As shown in the figure above, check an online device from the tree list on the right, click on Acquire to acquire information about network settings of the current device; click on Set to modify network parameters of the device;

Acquisition of Warning Setting Parameters As shown in the figure above, check an online device from the tree list on the right, click on Acquire to acquire information about warning settings of the current device; 9.8. Warning Settings As shown in the figure above, check an online device from the tree list on the right, click on Acquire in the information bar to acquire information about warning settings of the current device; click on Set to modify warning parameters of the device;

Watchdog Service Program Run program: MVS_WatchDog_Server.exe in the directory MVS_WATCHDOG_SERVER When opening the Watchdog service program, if the stream media server program is closed due to exception, the Watchdog program will automatically restart the stream media server program; and its thus recommended to be enabled; The program interface is shown below: Internal=30 means that the stream media server program will be restarted 30 seconds after abnormal closing is detected; Note: Always open the Watchdog program before the server side program; the Watchdog program and the stream media server program must be on the same host; and the Watchdog targets only the client;
