S.R0--0 v.0 List of Tables Table : CFNA Subscription Options... 0 0 List of Tables -ii

S.R0--0 v.0 0 0 Call Forwarding No Answer (CFNA) Call Forwarding No Answer (CFNA) permits a called subscriber to have the system send incoming calls addressed to the called subscriber s public identity to another public identity (forward-to identity) or to the called subscriber s designated voice mailbox, when the subscriber fails to answer, or is otherwise inaccessible (including TBD, etc.). CFNA does not apply when the subscriber is considered to be busy. CFNA does not impact a subscriber s ability to originate calls. A subscriber may select a forward-to identity termination address when the subscriber registers the CFNA.. Normal Procedures with Successful Outcome Authorization CFNA may be generally available or may be provided after prearrangement with the service provider. The authorization may have the following subscription options: Deauthorization Table : Subscription Options Registration Activation CFNA Subscription Options Values Variable. The subscriber is authorized to specify his or her own forward-to identity. Fixed. Forward-to identity is registered upon authorization. Demand. The subscriber is authorized to control the activation and deactivation of CFNA. Permanent. CFNA is active while authorized. CFNA may be withdrawn at the subscriber s request or for administrative reasons. Registration If the subscriber is authorized for Fixed Registration, the forward-to identity shall be registered upon authorization. The CFNA forward-to identity may be registered by the service provider upon authorization for Variable Registration subscribers. - Call Forwarding No Answer (CFNA)

S.R0--0 v.0 CFNA may be registered by a Variable Registration authorized subscriber specifying the CFNA registration feature code and a forward-to termination address or voice message system Modifier Digit ( V on the keypad), as in: *FC + termination address, or *FC + (Voice message system). If the registration is accepted, the system shall indicate success with feature confirmation treatment. Registration associates the subscriber with the termination address as a forward-to identity or with a particular voice mailbox on a voice message system. Voice mail box passwords are registered separately with the voice message system. Deregistration CFNA may be deregistered upon deactivation (at the home service provider option). If the deregistration is to be separate from deactivation, the deregistration feature code must be distinct from the corresponding deactivation feature code. CFNA may be deregistered by a Variable Registration authorized subscriber specifying the CFNA deregistration feature code, as in: *FC0. CFNA shall be deregistered upon deauthorization. Activation If the subscriber is authorized for Permanent Activation, CFNA shall be activated upon authorization. CFNA may be activated upon authorization or registration for Demand Activation authorized subscribers. CFNA may be activated upon registration for Variable Registration authorized subscribers. A previously registered CFNA forward-to identity may be activated by a Demand Activation authorized subscriber specifying a CFNA activation feature code, as in: *FC. If the activation is accepted, the system shall indicate success with feature confirmation treatment. The serving system may provide a courtesy call to the forward-to identity shortly after this feature is activated permitting the subscriber to verify the validity of the forward-to identity. 0 0 Call Forwarding No Answer (CFNA) -

S.R0--0 v.0 0 0 Deactivation CFNA may be deactivated by a Demand Activation authorized subscriber specifying the CFNA deactivation feature code, as in: *FC0. If the deactivation is accepted, the system shall indicate success with feature confirmation treatment. CFNA shall be deactivated upon deauthorization or deregistration. Invocation The feature treatment is invoked when there is an incoming call that is not answered or cannot be answered (for any reason) and CFNA is active. Reasons for forwarding a call with CFNA include: a. No UE or subscriber response to alerting. b. No subscriber response to Call Waiting notification. Normal Operation with Successful Outcome When CFNA is active, incoming calls for the subscriber shall be forwarded to the forward-to identity when the subscriber is inaccessible. Accounting Record The system should record accounting information for the following: a. CFNA registration activities and events. b. CFNA deregistration activities and events. c. CFNA activation activities and events. d. CFNA deactivation activities and events. e. CFNA invocation events. f. Forward-to call duration.. Exception Procedures or Unsuccessful Outcome Registration If the subscriber is not authorized for the request, or if the forward-to identity is not acceptable, the system shall apply feature denial treatment when registration is attempted. The system should not accept forward-to identities to the operator (0- or 0+), service codes (N), police, fire or similar agencies. - Call Forwarding No Answer (CFNA)

S.R0--0 v.0 Deregistration If the subscriber is not authorized for the request, the system shall apply feature denial treatment when deregistration is attempted. Activation If the subscriber is not authorized for the request, or if a forward-to identity is not properly registered, the system shall apply feature denial treatment when activation is attempted. If the courtesy call to the forward-to identity cannot be routed, then the call should be given the appropriate treatment. Since the validity of the forward-to identity is in doubt, CFNA may be deregistered and deactivated. Courtesy calls need not be answered to verify the validity of the forward-to identity. Deactivation If the subscriber is not authorized for the request, the system shall apply feature denial treatment when deactivation is attempted. Invocation If the forwarded call cannot be routed to the forwarded-to destination, then the call should be given the appropriate treatment. Precautions should be taken to preclude undesirable looping of forwarded identities within the ASs. If such looping is detected, the call forwarding should be given the appropriate treatment.. Alternative Procedures None identified.. Interactions with Other Wireless Services No interactions have been identified with the following exceptions: Call Forwarding Busy (CFB) CFB is mutually exclusive with CFNA. That is, calls arriving to a busy subscriber with CFB and CFNA active shall be forwarded by CFB and not given CFNA treatment. Calls arriving to a subscriber with CFB and CFNA active shall be forwarded by CFNA and not given CFB treatment if the subscriber is not busy and does not answer the call. 0 0 Call Forwarding No Answer (CFNA) -

S.R0--0 v.0 0 0 Call Forwarding Default (CFD) CFNA takes precedence over CFD. That is, an incoming call to an inaccessible or nonanswering subscriber with both CFNA and CFD active shall be forwarded using CFNA. Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) CFU takes precedence over CFNA. That is, an incoming call arriving for a subscriber with both CFU and CFNA active shall be forwarded with CFU. Call Waiting (CW) CW is invoked before CFNA. If a call arrives for a busy subscriber able to receive a second call, the called subscriber has both CW and CFNA active, and no call is waiting to be answered; the call is presented to the subscriber with CW notification. If the call is not answered within a period of time after applying the first CW notification, it shall be given no answer treatment. If a call arrives for a busy subscriber, the called subscriber has both CW and CFNA active, and if the called subscriber is unable to receive a second call or has a call waiting to be answered; the call shall be given busy treatment. Calling Identification Presentation (CIP) If the called subscriber has CIP active, the calling identity may be presented to the called subscriber during call forwarding indication according to CIP s procedures. If the forwarded-to user has CIP active and the original calling party does not have CIR active, the original calling identity shall be presented to the forwarded-to user. If the forwarded-to user has CIP active and the forwarding party does not have CIR active, the forwarding party identity may be presented to the forwarded-to user. Calling Identification Restriction (CIR) If the calling identity indicates presentation restricted, the calling identity shall not be presented to the called party or the forward-to party. If the called (redirecting) subscriber has CFNA invoked and either the CIR mode is Permanently Restricted or the CIR Default is Presentation Restricted, the redirecting identity shall indicate presentation restricted to prevent presentation to the forward-to party. Customized Ring-Back Tone (CRBT) Before the call is forwarded, the calling party shall be presented with the original called party s CRBT if available. When the call is forwarded, the called party s network shall continue to present the called party s CRBT to the calling party until a signaling indication is received from the forwarded-to party s network regarding the availability of media. - Call Forwarding No Answer (CFNA)

S.R0--0 v.0 If the forwarded-to party has CRBT based on calling party s identity, then the CRBT should be played based on the original calling party s identity. Flexible Alerting (FA) Interaction between FA and CFNA is beyond the scope of this Standard. The following describes a possible implementation: CFNA of the FA Pilot identity shall apply to calls to the Pilot identity when CFNA is active and the call is not or cannot be answered. CFNA for the FA pilot identity takes precedence over CFNA of the individual FA members. That is, if both the FA pilot number and an FA member have CFNA active, CFNA treatment is determined by the FA pilot identity. Inbound Call Restriction (ICR) / Anonymous Call Rejection (ACR) ICR/ACR takes precedence over CFNA. If an incoming call arrives for a subscriber with ICR/ACR and CFNA active, the call is screened by ICR/ACR first. If the call is not blocked by ICR/ACR, an attempt is made to deliver the call to the subscriber. If the subscriber does not or cannot answer the call, then CFNA is invoked. Outbound Call Restrictions (OCR) Registering a call forwarding identity to an identity blocked by the OCR service should be precluded. If the forwarding user s call to the forwarded-to user is restricted by OCR, then the attempt to forward the call to the forwarded-to user shall be rejected. Terminating Identification Presentation (TIP) If the calling subscriber has TIP active, the forwarded-to identity should be presented to the calling subscriber according to TIP procedures. If the original called party does not have TIR active, the original called identity may also be presented to the calling subscriber. Terminating Identification Restriction (TIR) If the forwarded-to subscriber has TIR active, the forwarded-to identity shall not be presented to the calling subscriber. If the original called party has TIR active, the original called identity shall not be presented to the calling subscriber. 0 0 Call Forwarding No Answer (CFNA) -
