Introduction ZCL for SONYGigECAM is composed of host-side software which is necessary when developing an application using SONY XCD series cameras and SONY XCG series cameras which adopt GigE Vision standard and mount IEEE1394 Interface. You can develop such application quickly by using this software. Operation Environment Recommended Operation Environment; CPU : Intel Pentium 233MHz or higher OS Memory Hard Disk Digital Camera : Windows XP(32bit) Windows Vista(32bit) Windows 7(32/64bit) : More than 64MByte : More than 1GByte : SONY XCD series cameras and SONY XCG series cameras Developing Environment : Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Software Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Those are recommended operation environment. Installation Installation When it is 32bitOS, start the Setup.exe. For 64bitOS, start the Setup64.exe. Execute the installation in accordance with the instructions of Setup. < Types of Setting Up > Standard Header files, link files, sample sources, documents and tools which are necessary for developing ZCL Driver is installed. Custom You can specify and install necessary functions. < Installation of Device Software > The [Windows Security] dialogue is displayed, click the [Install] button, and continue the Setup. - 3 -
Driver Installation for Expanded Network Interface Card You can choose to apply or not to apply the driver when a network interface card was expanded after ZCL GigE Driver has been installed by Setup. Click on the Start menu and refer to the document: [Start] - [Program] - [Sony] - [ZCL] - [Help] - [Driver Install Help] Driver Installation for Expanded 1394 Host Adapter Card Installation of the driver will be started by specifying the ZCL-2 Driver by using this installer. When you wish to return the driver to the Windows Standard driver or to expand a 1394 host card after this installation, go to the Start menu and refer to the document: [Start] - [Programs] - [Sony] - [ZCL] - [Help] - [Driver Install Help] Uninstallation To modify or delete the contents installed by Setup, select [ZCL for SONYGigECAM] from [Start] - [Control Panel] - [Programs and Functions]. - 4 -
Before Use ZCL for SONYGigECAM Install Manual Specifying Network Interface Card You need to specify a network interface card (NIC) which ZCL GigE Driver is applied to for SONY XCG series cameras. Specify a card to apply by using the [ZCLGigEPref] tool as the following: [Start] - [Programs] - [Sony] - [ZCL] - [Tool] - [ZCLGigEPref] Note : Do not specify a card connected to another PC with networks such as LAN. IP Setting of Camera DHCP-ON setting is needed for camera IP setting for SONY XCG series cameras. When IP has been already specified for the camera, select the following, and reset the camera to DHCP-ON by using [ZCLDeviceReset] tool. Caution When a XCG series camera is not recognized PCs which have network security software installed may not recognize a XCG series camera. Because the filter driver of security software has been installed. Change the Local Area Connection setting, not to use the filter driver of security software, by following these steps below. 1. Open the Local Area Connection Property of the XCG series camera connected 1-1 Open the Network Property 1-2 Select Change adapter settings 1-3 Open the Local Area Connection Property of the camera connected 2. Change the setting not to use the filter driver of security software 2-1 Uncheck the filter driver of security software from the list of This connection uses the following items. 2-2 Click the OK button This is an example of setting in Windows 7. For other Windows, change the setting by opening the property of Local Area Network as well. When a frame drops (occurrence of packet loss) When using a PCI(Peripheral Component Interconnect) bus network interface card, packet loss may occur and cause frame drops.
