4 1. Introduction Welcome to the Installation Guide of Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager In this installation guide, we have covered installation of Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager. Apart from the installation of software, the un-installation process of software is also included in this Installation Guide. 1.1 Purpose of this Document The purpose of this document is to guide you through the process of installation and un-installation of Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager. 1.2 Points of Contact For software related queries, you can contact us via or phone. 8 3. Installing Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager Before you start installing software, make you sure that software installer file is available on your computer. If the file is not available then you can download the file from - After you have downloaded the installer file, execute the following steps to install software: 1. Click on Run to start the installation process with the following wizard. Click Next to proceed further. 2. Select I accept the agreement option and click Next to continue.

9 3. Now select the destination location, where software will be installed. To change the destination location, click Browse button and select the preferred location. Click Next once you re done.

10 4. This wizard lets you customize the shortcut folder. Click Next once you re done.

11 5. Here you can select the required additional tasks such as to create icons on the desktop and Quick Launch bar. Click Next to proceed.

12 6. The wizard is now ready to start the installation process. Click Install button.

13 7. The installation process will be started.

14 8. When the installation process completes, the message Completing the Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager Setup Wizard appears on software installation window. Click the Finish button to launch software.

15 9. Click the Finish button to launch software. Welcome Screen of Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager Software appears.

16 Once software has been installed, you need to add Source and Destination to migrate the s and other contents from the Source to the Destination. Follow the below given steps to add Source: 10. Click Add Source option on the toolbar. Add Source window opens up. You can select any of these as Source: Offline EDB, Offline OST, Outlook PST, Live Exchange (single and multiple mailboxes), Live Exchange Public Folder, and OWA/Office 365.

17 11. Select your source as per requirement and click Next. The rest of the steps depend on the choice you make here. Complete the Add Source process by following the wizard. The following figure shows Office 365 added as Source.

18 Once the Source has been added, you can perform all the supported functions of Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager. However, before you can restore or migrate any data, you need to add the destination to software. To add destination: 12. Click Add Destination option on the tool bar. Add Destination wizard opens up. You can add any of these as destination: Existing PST, New PST, Live Exchange (Single and Multiple mailboxes), Live Exchange (Public Folder) and OWA/Office 365.

19 13. Select the destination from the list and click Next". The Rest of the steps depend on the choice that you make in this step. Complete the wizard by following the remaining steps. The following figure shows Office 365 added to the destination.

20 Once the Source and Destination have been added, you can perform all the supported functions with Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager.

21 4. Uninstalling Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager In case, you need to uninstall Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager, follow the instructions mentioned below. Before you start uninstalling Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager, make sure that software is not running on your system in the background. In addition, kindly kill its process LERM.exe from the Task Manager. Software can be uninstalled from your system in the following two ways: Uninstall through Windows Start Menu Uninstall through Control Panel 4.1: Uninstalling Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager from Windows Start Menu To remove the Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager Software from Start Menu follow the instructions below: 1. Click Start > All Programs > Lepide Exchange Manager > Uninstall Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager. A confirmation message appears to let you affirm the un-installation process. 2. Click the Yes button to uninstall software.

22 3. When software is removed, you ll receive the following message box. 4. Click the OK button to finish the un-installation process.

23 4.2: Uninstalling Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager from Control Panel To remove the Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager Software from Control Panel, follow the steps below: 1. Click Start -> Control Panel. The Control Panel window appears. 2. Double click the Add or Remove Programs icon. A list of the programs installed on your computer appears. 3. Select Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager and click the Uninstall button. A confirmation message before un-installing software appears on the screen. 4. Click the Yes button to uninstall software.

24 5. The following message box will confirm the successful un-installation of software. 6. Click the OK button to complete the un-installation process. To remove the remaining elements delete its program installation folder manually and then empty the Recycle Bin as well. %ProgramFiles%\Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager for 32-bit OS %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager for 64-bit OS After following the above steps, Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager will be uninstalled successfully from your computer system.

25 5: Activating Software License Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager is also available in trial version. It works just like the full version but there are some limitations on further functionalities. The trial version transfers only 2 messages per folder/per session, you cannot save the search results, also, extract data cannot be saved. LERM is available in Standard and Professional editions. Standard edition comes with certain limitations while Professional edition has no feature limitations. To purchase license, you can contact our sales team at: [email protected]. After installing the trial version of software, if you want to generate license code for full version, follow these steps: 1. Right-click on any of the added source items (EDB, OST, PST, Live Exchange, and Office 365). If a source is not already added, add a source and right-click on it. In the popup menu select Generate License Code.

26 2. Generate License code dialog box opens up. All the items present in the Source list will be displayed in the dialog box. Select all the items for which you want to generate the license code. In the below given screenshot we have selected an EDB file and an Exchange Server. To generate license code for OSTs select License for OST checkbox. 3. Click OK. 4. The following message appears. LERM License file named as (Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager.out) is saved on the desktop. Click on the OK button to close the window. 5. the License.out file to Lepide Software sales team at: After making the purchase Lepide Software will send you a license activation file. Save that file on the local disk. 6. To activate the license, launch Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager. 7. Click on Help-> Activate Software menu option.

27 8. Browse the license activation file from where it is located.

28 9. All the fields in Activate software window get populated as per license purchased. OST license information is displayed in the bottom field. Order number field is also populated. Click on Activate. 10. License Applied Successfully message box is displayed. Click on OK to close the window.

29 Thus, you can successfully activate the license for Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager.
