Name Credentials Title About the Presenter Aileen Sigler Outreach Analyst/ Senior Nurse Analyst As an Outreach Analyst, Aileen s primary job responsibilities include developing and facilitating seminars, teleconferences and webinars for the Part A provider community. With over 17 years of Medicare experience, she held positions in the Claims, Customer Service and internal Training departments before joining Provider Outreach & Education in June of 2005. Beth Swanson BA, LMSW Social Worker - Therapist Originally from Connecticut, Beth Swanson, LMSW is a graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University with a BA. Eventually settled in Kansas in 1985. She has been involved in several high stress occupations where burnout was an everyday occurrence which has given her the ability to relate to people on a level of colleague as well as employee and supervisor. Swanson received her Masters in Social Work with a concentration in gerontology, graduating with honors from Newman University in Wichita, Kansas in 2010. Her first passion was hospice care where she worked as a Bereavement Coordinator for several years. Although a rewarding career choice, Beth Swanson have taken a new position as a Social Worker in a specialized geriatric psychiatric unit and inpatient rehabilitation unit. She is a unique individual who can put any audience at ease and provide insightful and practical information with a warm sense of humor. Chad M. John Special Agent Chad M. John has been a Special Agent with the FBI for 17 years working primarily complex white collar crime and public corruption. Chad is currently assigned to the Kansas City Division, Jefferson City Resident Agency.

Dana McWay JD, RHIA Director, AHIMA Board of Directors Ms. McWay is the Clerk of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. She is an honors graduate of St. Louis University and St. Louis University Law School. She is both a Registered Health Information Administrator and licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois. She is a Director on the Board of Directors of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), former Chair of AHIMA s Professional Ethics Committee, and has accepted students from HIM programs for their professional practicum experiences. She serves as adjunct faculty in St. Louis University s Masters in Health Informatics program. She received the Legacy Triumph Award from AHIMA for the first edition of her textbook, Legal Aspects of Health Information Management and received the Distinguished Member Award from the Missouri Health Information Management Association.

Darice Grzybowski MA, RHIA, FAHIMA, AHIMA Academy Approved ICD- 10-CM/PCS Trainer President Since 2005, Darice Grzybowski has served as President of H.I.Mentors, a best practice health information, revenue cycle and strategic marketing consulting company located in Westchester, Illinois. Darice has over 30+ years of HIM practice and consulting experience and holds a master degree in Clinical Data Management from DePaul University. She is an RHIA and a Fellow of the American Health Information Management Association as well as an AHIMA Academy Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer & Ambassador. Darice has won multiple national awards for her work in HIM including an AHIMA Triumph Award and Advance Magazine s Top Ten in 2010 HIM Professionals designation, is a well-recognized speaker across the country, serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of IL and has recently published a book by AHIMA entitled "Strategies for Electronic Document and Health Record Management" which is rapidly changing the way HIM professionals view their roles relative to the EHR. Judy A. Bielby MBA, RHIA, CPHQ, CCS, FAHIMA Clinical Assistant Professor Judy Bielby is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center and a consultant with Durst and Associates. Judy has over 25 years of experience in the health care industry including coding, compliance, risk management, quality management, survey preparation, documentation improvement, and various special projects. She is a proud graduate of KU with a bachelor degree in medical record administration in 1987 and an MBA in 1995. Judy teaches courses on classifications, nomenclatures and clinical terminologies used in health care. Judy has recently returned to having been an active member of MoHIMA for the last 18 years.

Mary Sue Gardner RN/BSN Senior Nurse Analyst Mary Sue Gardner, RN/BSN Mary Sue is a Senior Nurse Analyst in the Provider Outreach and Education (POE) department of WPS. She has a Bachelor s of Science in Nursing (RN/B.S.N.) Degree from Methodist College of Nursing, in Omaha, Nebraska. Prior to working in Medicare, Mary Sue spent many years practicing clinically in various inpatient and outpatient settings. In Mary Sue s 13+ years in Medicare Part A, she has worked in the Medical Review department as well as Provider Outreach and Education (POE). Mary Sue provides clinical education in all WPS contracts of work throughout the United States. Rosann M. O'Dell DHSc, MS, RHIA, CDIP Clinical Assistant Professor & Academic Progression Manager Rosann M. O'Dell, DHSc, MS, RHIA, CDIP, is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Health Information Management at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) School of Health Professions. Prior to academia, she managed a variety of health information operations and systems, and participated in committees and outreach activities focused on consumer and patient engagement within hospitals where she worked. Her scholarly work on the consumer engagement front in healthcare includes peerreviewed and industry journal publications, in which she has either authored, co-authored, or contributed to, on topics such as health information literacy and appraisal skills, healthcare decision-making, patient-generated health data, and consumer-facing health information strategies. She is a member of AHIMA and HIMSS, an elected Commissioner of the Commission on Certification for Health Informatics and Information Management, and a previous member of the AHIMA Consumer Engagement Practice Council. O'Dell is also a current review panelist for the peer-reviewed journal Educational Perspectives in Health Informatics and Information Management and previous expert reviewer for an EHR textbook published by Paradigm Publishing. She is also an AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer.

Sandy Pearson MHA, RHIA HIM Operations Director & ICD-10 Program Administrator Sandy Pearson has been the HIM Operations Director at SCL Health - St. Francis Health in Topeka since 2012. An RHIA with a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration, she has worked in a variety of healthcare settings in her 20 year career including rural, critical access hositals; a large, for profit, 100 physician multi-specialty clinic; and a 600 bed tertiary hospital before joining SCL Health which consists of 8 hospitals and just under 200 ambulatory clinics. She participates on the Washburn and St. Mary's HIM Advisory Boards and is a member of the AHIMA Consumer Engagement Practice Council. Seth Jeremy Katz MPH, RHIA Assistant Administrator, Information Management & Program Exectution Seth Jeremy Katz currently serves as the Assistant Administrator for Information Management and Program Execution at Truman Medical Centers, a two-hospital academic medical system based in Kansas City. His role has him overseeing Truman's HIM, Project Management, IT Education, Nursing Informatics and Data Exchange & Integrity departments, as well as acting as their ICD10 program manager. He is also an adjunct faculty for the KU Medical Center HIM program and is the current MoHIMA president elect.

William L. "Pete" Rearden Professional Speaker William L. "Pete" Rearden is an adjunct member of the American Institute of Management, a guest lecturer for both the Florida Atlantic University Small Business Development, Florida State University Center for Personal Development and is a former officer of the Florida Speakers Association. Over 1,000 conventions, organization and associations are reaping the benefits from hearing one of Pete Rearden's Attitude Development Programs. Pete Spent over 20 years in the newspaper field, working for Knight Newspapers in Tallahassee, The New York Times group in Lakeland, FL and Cox Newspapers in West Palm Beach, FL. He has been a small business owner and a consultant in both the Printing and Manufacturing Industries. Today he lives in Irving, Texas where he continues his Professional Speaking Career.
