General Information about the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life What is the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life? The Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life is a national awareness and fundraising event that takes place every year in communities all across Canada. Funds raised support direct programs and services for Canadians at risk of, or living with HIV/AIDS in their communities. Where do the proceeds go? The money raised in each Walk location will go towards the services run by the local AIDS Saint John organizations. For the Saint John Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life, not only do all proceeds remain in South-Western New Brunswick but all money raised will be used to fund AIDS Saint John s programs and services in Saint John and surrounding areas.

When and where is the 2015 Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life? This year the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life in Saint John will take place at the First Arch picnic site in Rockwood Park on Sunday, September 20 th, 2015. Registration will begin at 11am and the walk will follow at 12pm. Entertainment, food, and prizes will be provided during the event so please join us! Why should you pledge for the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life? As many as 71,300 people are living with HIV/AIDS in Canada. Over one quarter of them don t even know it. There is no cure and no vaccines to prevent new infections. When you have HIV/AIDS, life gets a lot harder. Together with your support we can bring hope to those who are affected HIV/AIDS. How do I make a donation? You can make a general donation to AIDS Saint John by visiting our website, at http://www.aidssaintjohn.com/contact-us/donate/ You can also donate by sponsoring a team or individual walker that is participating. How do I volunteer for the Walk? Please contact AIDS Saint John and we can inform you on the many ways you can participate! All are welcomed to come lend a hand! Partipant Information for the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life How can I participate? There are many ways that you can participate! You can Walk, Run, Nordic Walk, Skateboard, Pledge what else can you think of? How do I register a team for the Walk? It s very easy: simply contact AIDS Saint John to receive your pledge forms and a packet with numerous fundraising ideas and tools you can use for your fundraising endeavors! How many people do I need to form a team? There is no minimum or maximum number of members per team! If I am an individual walker, how do I register? It s the same process as registering a team: contact AIDS Saint John to receive your pledge forms and a packet with numerous fundraising ideas and tools you can use for your fundraising endeavors! Is there a registration fee for the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life? There is NO registration fee, everyone is welcome to participate

How much money do I need to participate in the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life? There is no minimum goal, everyone is encouraged to raise as much as they can! General Information about AIDS Saint John What is AIDS Saint John? AIDS Saint John is a non-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of life for those affected by HIV/AIDS. In addition to the organization s goal of reducing the stigma associated with HIV, the organization strives to reduce the spread of HIV through prevention education and public awareness. For over 20 years, AIDS Saint John has provided services from Sussex to St. Stephen and the Fundy Isles. A few of the services include: a resource library, an anonymous online question board, treatment information, advocacy, awareness events, education, a needle distribution program, referrals and support for people living with HIV as well as their loved ones. These services promote the healthy life choices that are needed to reduce the spread of HIV. Where is AIDS Saint John? AIDS Saint John is located in uptown Saint John at 62 Waterloo Street.
