Carl Remigius Fresenius founded the Fresenius Chemical Laboratory in 188; it was devoted both to laboratory practice and education right from the beginning. The university has been licensed as a university of applied sciences recognised by the state with private funding since 1971 and offers study programmes and educational training in the fields of chemistry and biology, health, business & media. In the study programmes of the Business School, Psychology School and Media School, students can attend Bachelor and Master programmes in Idstein, Cologne, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Munich both full-time and as continuing education courses. Fresenius University of Applied Sciences was commended for its broad and innovative range of Bachelor and Master programmes, its international atmosphere and its attractive links to the field of practice by the German Council of Science and Humanities and institutionally accredited in autumn 2010. Each individual study and training programme is additionally accredited by the FIBAA (The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation). 3
International Business Administration your access to global economy International Business Administration your access to global economy Changes in the political and economic framework, such as the internationalisation of markets, growing capital export and relocation, have forced companies to increasingly search for qualified, internationally experienced graduates. Hence, the fields of work for graduates of the International Business Administration programme are virtually infinite. With International Business Administration, Fresenius University of Applied Sciences offers a programme tailored to the current landscape of the job market. It allows you to gain basic knowledge in the fields of economics and business administration with a focus on relevant international aspects. You will be empowered to be internationally mobile, and you will gain essential personal and social skills. Due to the international focus of the program, foreign language skills are imperative for successful completion of the program. To make sure you are on top of any business situation, the International Business Administration programme provides you with fundamental knowledge and skills in the fields of economics and business administration. Special focus is set on important international aspects. You will learn how to solve complex problems in international business innovatively, as well as to implement solutions in an adequate and sustainable manner. The International Business Administration programme is organised in modules. Each module consists of up to six contact hours per semester. Performance will be graded on the basis of course participation, final exams, presentations, and papers. Each module will be awarded with ECTS credits according to the required workload. Acquire intercultural skills Go abroad for your majors The conceptualisation of the International Business Administration study programme attaches special importance to international experiences in the form of two integrated semesters abroad. In the th semester you will focus on Marketing Management in the USA and in the 5th semester on International Management in China. Integrated semester in the USA with a major in International Management This major addresses market-oriented business management. Not only do you learn to develop ideas and strategies you are also taught how to forecast the success of advertising programmes on the basis of sales analysis and assessments of customer benefits. You learn the trade of a marketing decision-maker for consumer goods, services and the business-tobusiness environment. The path to your future Admission requirements and application The following requirements must be met for admission to the Bachelor programme in International Business Administration: Qualification for university entrance (Fachhochschulreife or equivalent), Proven German-language competence certified by the Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber (DSH), if secondary schooling diploma was not obtained from a German institution. Since Fresenius University of Applied Sciences is recognised by the state, but does not receive state funding, monthly tuition is charged. Student loans are of course possible.
