This year s theme, Honor the Past, Treasure the Present, Shape the Future, offers a fresh outlook and timely insights into what s happening today. Who should submit presentation and poster ideas? Nurses, physicians, nurse educators, researchers, clinicians, case managers, healthcare innovators and students. NAHN welcomes your innovation, knowledge, expertise, research, challenges and successes. This year, we boldly address timely issues surrounding equity and quality for Hispanic health. Conference Tracks The conference is planned around four tracks: Track 1: My Nursing Career Track 2: Healthcare Reform Track 3: Clinical Practice Track 4: Best Practices Conference Learning Objectives: At the end of the conference, the participant will be able to: 1. Describe healthcare issues facing the Hispanic population, their implications for nursing in the current healthcare system and the role of new technology in improving care for these patients. 2. Identify ways in which nursing can improve care by using outcomesbased research and current best practices and learn how care improvements can be implemented in the clinical setting. 3. Understand the challenges of the evolving role of the nurse in healthcare reform and identify strategies that will help nurses and the profession meet those challenges. 4. Recognize the value of advanced and continuing education for nurses and quality education for patients in improving care, optimizing outcomes, and increasing satisfaction. 5. Develop a professional leadership development plan that incorporates career goals and important milestones and applies networking and mentorship principles to enhance growth. Podium or Poster Presentation You are invited to submit an abstract for podium or poster presentation supporting the conference theme. Please include author name(s), degrees, workplace, address and email of corresponding author. Please limit abstract to 300-350 words and specify podium or poster presentation, or both.
