OPENING/INTRODUCTORY COMMENTS Roll Call and Group Status Reports (written reports and verbal reports from members present) Bonnie / Athens Path to Recovery (per written report) Monday, 12 noon Wednesday, 6:30 pm Celebrated 3 rd anniversary May 6 Completed annual group inventory All group officer positions are filled/changed hands May 1 Barb / Conyers (per written report) Thursday, 8 pm, core group of 9 (strength) 2-3 newcomers per month 4 members attended GRCNA Members volunteer to assist with Outreach (Resource Fairs in March & April) Challenge: to increase sponsorship Lois / East TN (per written and verbal report) Greeneville Per Group Conscience Meeting, changed meeting to Tuesday, 7 pm - This provides 2 separate meetings in 45 mile area which has proved beneficial - Core group of New Treasurer elected - Lois (Group Service Rep) moved to Morristown, TN - No one nominated/elected to be new GSR Johnson City Monday, 7 pm Morristown Lois trying to restart the meeting (which closed last year) Simon / Marietta Transfiguration (per written report) Wednesday, 8 pm, regular attendees (attendance slowly growing) Thursday, 8 pm, regular attendees 3-4 newcomers per month (individuals and/or couples) Strength: Dedicated core group of 6 members at both meetings

2 2 Rosie / Chamblee Tucker Tuesday, 7:30 pm, core group of 6-8 Solid group/not many newcomers Last Tuesday of month, the meeting is a Step Meeting Would like to increase sponsorship Laura / Johns Creek, Georgia Tuesday, 7:30 pm, 8-12 people Thursday, 7:30 pm, people Several newcomers and couples per meeting Per Group Conscience Meeting, incorporating Step Workshop 3 rd Tuesday & Thursday of month, 8:30 pm Richard / Buckhead Saturday, 11 am, people Very active members for Outreach Liz / Lawrenceville Tuesday, 7:30 pm, core group of 10 Newcomers Per Mary Helen, Lawrenceville may be adding a 2 nd group New Sharpsburg and Newnan Groups (welcomed by Chair) Wednesday, 7:30 pm., people at each More information at the next Region meeting Minutes from January 24, 2015 Quarterly Meeting Motion to accept January 2015 Minutes as submitted made by Mary Helen 2 nd : Richard Approved by unanimous consent NEW BUSINESS 1) Treasurer s Report (Treasurer s Report attached) Written summary submitted by Treasurer as follows: - Contributions to GA/Eastern TN account are up for this period 63% compared to average last 4 periods - GRCNA cost was $932; funded by recent contributions This means we are holding our own Great news - Current balance is $2,931 (on par) - No outstanding payments need to be made - Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the account Address to send payments: Paul Schwenzfeier 763 Cambron Commons Trace Suwanee, GA Motion to send 10% of available balance ($293) to World Service Office (WSO) as we did last quarter made by Richard 2 nd : Mary Helen Approved by unanimous consent

3 3 2) Website Report Report distributed to all attendees (attached) To maintain our present rankings, website will be updated and reported on at next Region meeting Total page views 2 nd quarter: 1,329 (+24%) 83% of all visitors are unique IPs 17% return visitors Number of hits (7,199) reflects the number of times a visitor views a file within a page on the Website. Translation: one visitor to the meetings page may access the meetings map and meetings pdf file, and this would count as two hits. Page views overall are higher than actual visitors as someone may access several pages within the site on one visit Overall, 2 nd quarter: increase of visitors to the site, time spent viewing pages and number of files accessed. 3) Outreach Recovery is Real Symposium Mary Helen reported on this Recovery Symposium, held April 18, 2015 at the Georgia Piedmont Technical Conference Center Georgia Council on Substance Abuse was a sponsor Distributed a lot of literature at Nar-Anon table Suggestion: greater Nar-Anon presence next time (have Nar-Anon speaker) 4) GRCNA Review of GRCNA 34 (Augusta, February 6-March 1, 2015) Chair received beneficial feedback from attendees re: speakers, set-up, meeting times, etc. Discussion on whether to offer a separate convention next year, or continue to offer our program at GRCNA, or do both Suggestion: just do GRCNA, increase our GRCNA presence such as have a speaker at the dinner Suggestion: charge nominal Registration Fee Put together GRCNA 2016 committee/recruit volunteers ASAP!!! (Convention in March in Atlanta) Recruit people for different sub-committees so that no one person does all of the work Committee Chair can oversee sub-committees Mary Helen has WSO guidelines on How to Throw a Convention (a good informational piece) Group Reps: We need your help! Please start announcing at every meeting that we need volunteers for a GRCNA 2016 Committee! Please interested member s information to admin@naranonga.com Subject line: Outreach Chairperson Include name, Skype ID, address, phone number 5) Nar-anon World Service Conference 2016 It is time for groups to start thinking about what motion(s) they would like to be considered for submission for placement in the Conference Agenda Report (CAR) A catalog of all motions submitted to or approved at the last two conferences will be available on the World Service website shortly. Group Reps: Please refer to the attached WSO 2016 documents while preparing motion(s) with your group (see attached). Please bring motion suggestions to our next Region meeting in July, 2015 so that we can vote on them. 6) Nar-Anon Outreach Posters Discussion of poster to adopt and use at sites where families of addicts may encounter them (rehabs, juvenile courts, jails, NA meetings, etc.) Question: does WSO already have a poster we could use? Suggestion: Outreach Chairperson can have a Signage Committee 7) Interest in rotating Nar-anon Region Meeting sites? Question: Would we get more attendance at our quarterly Region Meetings if we rotated sites? Group Reps - Please take a poll in your meetings about the following: 1) Is there any interest in rotating Nar-Anon s Quarterly Region Meeting sites? (all members welcome to attend meetings) 2) What area of the state would you recommend? Please bring poll feedback to our next Region meeting in July. A big thank you for your Group Reports! Likewise, page views overall are higher than actual visitors as someone may access several pages within the site on one visit. Overall, in the second quarter, there was an increase of visitors to the site, the time spent viewing pages and the number of files (links) accessed. As of April 21, 2015 Google s algorithm began rewarding websites that are mobile friendly. This could mean that websites that are not compatible will fall lower in the pecking order of search results. To maintain our present rankings, the website will be updated and reported on at the next meeting.
