Page 2 The Cupcake Truck comes to Lafayette! On August 14 th, residents from Healthcare, Personal Care, and the Independent apartments lined up in the parking lot for a delicious cupcake from the Butter Cream Cupcake Lady! For her special project during her internship in the Healthcare Recreation department, Temple University student Melissa Van Wert contacted the cupcake truck to come to Lafayette for a special event for the residents. The truck waived its initial fee to come for the event, and after two successful bake sales to raise money, each resident was able to have one cupcake paid for by Holy Redeemer! The residents enjoyed the beautiful summer weather outside eating their tasty treats. It was a fun afternoon for everyone who came out and a new and unique event brought here to Lafayette! It was a fun afternoon for everyone who came out.

Page 3 Summer Carnival The Residents of Parkview and Woodview celebrated the end of summer with a carnival in the Parkview Dining Room! First, residents enjoyed tasty carnival treats like corndogs, soft pretzels, funnel cake, and ice cream cones! Then they participated in some traditional carnival games like ring toss, basketball throw, bean bag toss, and sink the ball. The afternoon ended with a Wii carnival games competition; residents competed in events like the hi-striker, knock over the milk bottles, and ski ball. The residents of Lafayette enjoyed celebrating the end of a fantastic summer!

Page 4 Pastoral Care Corner Sister Barbara s last official day was August 15th.
