I have a huge practical experience in a wide spectrum of industries spanning from small trading companies to an international financial institution. I also have enormous experience in developing and delivering high quality academic courses in the UAE and fully understand the local customs and culture. Staying in academia to carry out academic research is a hobby rather than a career for me. I enjoy teaching and I am good at it as many of my former and current students have independently expressed. I was voted best teacher of the year for five consecutive years in my previous teaching job in the UK. My UAEU students have also independently verified my teaching skills through the annual evaluations, although the voting system was not in place at the time of I was teaching there. Based on this philosophy, I seek to facilitate this advancement of knowledge and hence my preferred method of teaching is to foster learners to ask questions and creatively come up with reasoned answers through reasoned thought. Regardless of the venue, my goals are to encourage thinking in rational ways, so that this can be applied in other unfamiliar situations.
