WIZARD OF OZ REHEARSAL SCHEDULE Attendance at all rehearsals for which you are called is mandatory, unless conflicts were listed on your audition form, or arrangements are made with the director well in advance. Unless otherwise noted, all rehearsals through October 12 will take place at the Greer Rec Center. Subsequent rehearsals will take place at the J. Harley Bonds Center. Not all actors are required to attend all rehearsals. Please read the schedule carefully. This schedule is subject to change. Cast members and parents will be notified of changes (and sent other announcements) via e-mail with as much advance notice as possible typically one week. In general, please keep ALL rehearsals times open until we get to within a week of the actual rehearsal. SCENE INDEX Act I, Scene 1 The Kansas prairie Dorothy, Uncle Henry, Auntie Em and the farmhands are introduced and the fundamental conflict with Mrs. Gultch is established. Act I, Scene 2 Over the Rainbow Dorothy sings the song. Act I, Scene 3 -- The Kansas Prairie Mrs. Gultch takes Toto but Toto escapes. Act I, Scene 4 Gypsy Caravan Dorothy meets Professor Marvel. Act I, Scene 5 Twister The tornado hits and Dorothy and the house are whisked away in the Twister Ballet. Act I, Scene 6 Munchkinland Dorothy meets Glinda and the Munchkins. Act I, Scene 7 Wicked Witch The Wicked Witch is introduced and Dorothy is set along the Yellow Brick Road. Act I, Scene 8 Cornfield Dorothy meets the Scarecrow. Act I, Scene 11 Witch on Roof The Wicked Witch appears again to threaten Dorothy and friends. Act I, Scene 12 Forest Dorothy meets the, who sings If I Only Had the Nerve. Act I, Scene 13 Poppies Dorothy and friends are trapped in a field of poppies, but rescued by Glinda. Act II, Scene 1 Outside the Emerald City Dorothy and friends persuade the Guard to let them in. Act II, Scene 2 Oz Town Square The Ozians greet Dorothy and friends and help them get spiffed up to meet the Wizard. Act II, Scene 3 Wizard s Chamber The Wizard challenges the friends to get the Witch s broomstick. Act II, Scene 4 Outside the Emerald City Dorothy and friends confront their fears before leaving. Act II, Scene 5 Witch s Castle

The Winkie soldiers and chief flying monkeys are introduced. Act II, Scene 6 Haunted Forest Dorothy and friends are attacked by enchanted Jitterbugs who make them dance to exhaustion. Act II, Scene 7 Haunted Forest Flying Monkeys capture Dorothy and Toto at the end of the dance. Act II, Scene 8 Witch s Castle Dorothy is imprisoned and threatened with death, seeing Auntie Em in the crystal ball. Act II, Scene 9 Main Gate of Castle Scarecrow, Tinman and hatch a plan involving capturing some Winkies. Act II, Scene 10 Rescue Dorothy melts the Wicked Witch! Act II, Scene 11 Wizard s Chamber After the Wizard is revealed, he grants the requests of the friends. Act II, Scene 12 Oz Town Square The Wizard flies away without Dorothy. Act II, Scene 13 Farewell There s no place like home! Act II, Scene 14 Kansas Dorothy returns to Uncle Henry and Auntie Em and the farmhands.
