pgl fully escorted travel Journeys are by coach and/or rail. We operate a strict timetable and cannot guarantee to wait for late arrivals. If you are delayed on your journey and think that you may miss the coach, please telephone the PGL Travel Line. If your child is travelling alone, please ensure they are always contactable by carrying a mobile phone. They should have a suitable suitcase/luggage bag that they can manoeuvre with ease. Please be aware that whilst we make every effort to ensure that our coaches arrive and depart on time, there may be some times when coaches are slightly delayed due to traffic, road works etc. which are beyond our control. Please wait at the meeting point and telephone the PGL Travel Line for further information if the coach has not arrived within a reasonable time. Our PGL Representatives will be located at the meeting point and will be wearing PGL T-shirts or fleeces. They will have a list of all children booked onto the service. Please tell the courier if your child has any medical conditions (eg. asthma, diabetes, epilepsy) or any medication (with authorisation forms) required for the journey. Ensure your child s medical and contact forms are also handed to the courier. These can be downloaded from your MyPGL account. Please check your child in with the courier and remain with them until it is time to board. Do not board the coach without permission from the courier. Please provide a packed lunch, as the first meal provided by PGL is the evening meal on the day of arrival. Coach seat belt policy Please ensure that your child is aware of our coach seat belt policy before the holiday starts. All coaches hired by PGL will be fitted with lap belts, as required by law since 10 February 1997. PGL staff will take reasonable steps to ensure that lap belts are worn by guests. Our definition of reasonable steps are: A public announcement by the couriers to all passengers before the journey commences that lap belts are supplied and must be worn Periodic checking during the journey to ensure that lap belts are being worn Reporting to Centre/HQ of any passengers who have not complied with PGL policy in order that a clear message may be given to parents that their child will not be transported again unless they promise to comply. Rail tickets Where Escorted Travel services include journeys by train (London Beam House) rail tickets are booked by PGL and held by the PGL Courier meeting your child at Paddington Station. The return tickets are handed to your child by the courier at the station for their journey home. On the day of departure from the centre breakfast and a basic packed lunch (sandwich, piece of fruit and a bottle of water) are provided by PGL. Please note: there are particularly early departure times for Tregoyd House, Hillcrest and Boreatton Park from London. How to identify your PGL Representatives
