1. Installing the BT Unified Communicator Soft Phone. 1. The BT Quantum will come supplied with a USB Memory Stick. This contains the BT Quantum and Unified Communicator documentation, plus several installation files. This includes the BT Unified Communicator Soft Phone installation file. To access this file, begin by browsing to the BT Quantum log in page by typing http://192.168.199.1/ into your web browser. Screenshot of the BT Quantum login page 2. Log into your BT Quantum using your username and password. The default username is user and the default password is user. After typing in your credentials, click the login button, highlighted below. 5. You will then be presented with the page shown below. Download the InstallBTUCIP.exe onto your computer. Screenshot of the Unified Communicator page. 6. Once the download is complete, browse to the file on your computer and open it. You will be shown the following window. Begin the installation by clicking the Install button. Once the installation is complete you will be presented with the page shown below. Click the Finish button at the bottom to exit the installation process. 2. Activating the BT Quantum Unified Communicator Soft Phone with a license key. 1. Click the BT Unified Communicator IP icon, located in the start menu. Below is a screeshot of the icon located in the start menu as well as a screen shot of the splash screen which will appear to indicate the application is starting up. 2. The splash screen will minimise to indicate that the BT Quantum Unified Communicator Soft Phone has started successfully. 5. You will then be presented with a list of buttons. Click the System settings button, as highlighted below. Screenshot of System settings button 6. 7. The window below will pop up, prompting you to enter your BT Quantum Unified Communicator Soft Phone license key. This will be provided by BT upon installation of the BT Quantum. Once you have typed it in, click the OK button. BTQ UC IP Soft Phone Install Guide 10
3. How to configure the BT Unified Communicator Soft Phone to work with the BT Quantum. 1. If you are continuing straight from Part 2 of this guide, please ignore steps 1-3 and skip to step 4. Otherwise please continue to step 2. 2. Begin by browsing to the BT Unified Communicator Soft Phone main menu as described in Part 2 under steps 1 to 4. Screenshot of the System settings button. 4. Once the System settings page has loaded and the Soft Phone key has been entered, you will need to enter the IP Address of the BT Quantum. 6. You will then be automatically taken back to the System settings page. Next, click the Telephony settings button as highlighted below. Screenshot of the Telephony settings button highlighted. 7. Enter your BT Quantum extension and SIP password. For information on how to find out what your BT Quantum extension and SIP password are please see Appendix A or contact the BT Helpdesk. After the system has connected successfully, the System tray icon, which was grey initially, will change to a green colour. This is shown below. Appendix A: Finding out your BT Quantum extension and SIP password. 1. Log in to the BT Quantum interface and browse to the Extension settings sub header under the Extensions header. Browse to the extensions that are assigned to the phone type IP Phone. Screenshot of the Extension Settings page. 2. Click the Advanced button to the far right of an IP Phone extension. The following page will appear. The field Extension Number defines the BT Quantum extension number and the SIP Password field defines the password field in the BT Unified Communicator Soft Phone.
