Accommodation Homestay, Residence and Off-Campus. Homestay A homestay program allows international students the opportunity to live with a Canadian family in the city of Sarnia or Toronto. The Institute cooperates with a homestay provider who provides this service for a fee. The homestay provider helps international students find living arrangements that fit their budget and personal needs. Residence Living in the on-campus residence is a great way to meet friends, socialize, relax and study. The residence is located only a short walk to campus, retail outlets, restaurants, movie theatres and public transportation. The rate includes your furnished room (not including bedding, linens, and towels), utilities, cable television (television is not provided), internet access, telephone service (free local calls), light housekeeping and a meal plan. Residence accommodations are shared rooms; you ll be living with a roommate. If you wish to request a specific roommate, you can do so on your Residence Application Form. Residence accommodation during the summer months does not include meals. Meals are available in the cafeteria or off-campus at an additional cost. Off-Campus Housing Students looking for greater privacy and less distractions may benefit form off-campus housing. If you are interested in off-campus housing we encourage you to search the internet and explore the classified section of local newspapers to find a suitable place to live.

Fluency Friend, Discussion Circle & Computer Lab Improve self-confidence and speaking fluency. Fluency Friend One of the biggest challenges for international students is socializing and integrating into Canadian society. An ESL student is matched with a native English speaking Canadian for the entire term. The Fluency Friend component allocates time during the week to speak English with a Canadian partner and learn colloquial language and Canadian culture while improving speaking self-confidence, all in a one-to-one, casual and safe environment. Discussion Circle This lesson s main focus is to improve self-confidence and fluency by discussing a variety of social topics with other international and Canadian students in a safe, casual and relaxed environment. Discussion Circles are held weekly and are assigned according to levels. Computer Lab Computer lab allows students to practice lesson extensions to their core courses and master their skills within the computer lab component. 7 3 1
