Introduction These instructions are for Windows and MAC users ONLY. For Mobile devices (IOS/Android), use the Mobile Device document found on the portal Login Page. For Windows 8.x users: At this time, we do not recommend using the Citrix Receiver App that is obtained from the Windows Store. Use the instructions below. The only value that is case-sensitive is your Windows Password. Login Page 1. Open your web browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc.) and go to: https://remote.blackrock.com 2. Before you begin, you will need to install the Citrix Receiver client software. This site will attempt to detect if the software is already installed and prompt to install if needed. 3. If you do not have the Citrix Receiver or have an older version, you will see the following screen. Click the check box first (item 2 below) and click Install (item 3). NOTE: If you encounter errors with the installation, refer to the troubleshooting section later in this document. Windows Installation 1. On a Windows PC (For MAC, skip to next section), at the file download prompt click Run. 1
2. Once the file has downloaded, click Run at the security warning. This screen might also be at the bottom of your web browser. 3. Allow the Citrix Receiver client to install. Accept all defaults. Click OK to finish. MAC Installation 1. On a Mac you will be directed to a Citrix page: http://www.citrix.com/downloads/citrix-receiver.html 2. Using the drop-down menus on the left page, select the following choices: Switch Product: Citrix Receiver Product Version: Receiver for Mac 3. In the middle pane, Click Receiver for MAC 11.8.2 Note: Versions may vary. 2
4. This will take you to the download page. Click Download and Yes to the EULA. 5. Once the file has downloaded, double-click CitrixReceiver.dmg in your Downloads pop-up, then Install Citrix Receiver.pkg to start the install: 6. During the install, select all default settings, accept the agreement (EULA), and then click Close to complete the install. Logging In After the installation completes, you will be prompted to log in. 1. Enter the following credentials and click Log On. User Name: Password: BlackRock Windows UserID BlackRock Windows password RSA Passcode: Your PIN + the passcode: if using a key fob. (i.e. 1234123456) OR The passcode: if using the RSA app on the mobile phone. (i.e. 12345678) 3
2. On the next screen you will see the desktops and applications assigned to you. As standard, you will see icons for a virtual desktop (BLK desktop) and also My Office PC to connect remotely to your office desk computer. Other applications may be included, depending on your requirements. 3. Click on an icon, you will see the connection progress bar for a few seconds then you will be connected to your desktop or application. Windows: MAC: 4
Using the BLK Desktop The first time you log on to the BLK Desktop it will take a few minutes as a new profile is created. You may find you need to reattach Outlook PST files and set other preferences as if you first logged on to a new PC. These settings will be saved for subsequent logons. Using ~My Office PC The ~My Office PC app will automatically take you to your office desk computer and optimize your session based on your local computer s OS. You will be asked to provide your Login credentials again. If you encounter problems with this program or are presented to the wrong office desk computer, use the program ~My Office PC Settings. 5
1. If you recognize your correct office desk computer name in the list: Highlight it, Right Click, and select Connect. 2. If your correct office desk computer is not listing as Default: Highlight it, Right Click, and select Set Default. 3. If your correct office desk computer is not listed: select the Others Tab. a. If known, type in your office desk computer name and click Connect. 6
Troubleshooting Icons Not Launching 1. There may be an issue with the settings on your web browser. Close your web browser and try to use another one. Experience is different for each user. Popular web browsers are Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. 2. Clear Internet Cache, usually found in the Settings area. Clear cache, close ALL web browser windows, open new browser window and try again. Session Slowness If your session is slow (i.e. takes a long time for windows to open/move, mouse is slow) 1. Log off (not Disconnect) from the app/desktop. 2. Wait 5 minutes; log back in to get a session on a different server. My Office PC: Slow Mouse Pointer 1. If you find the response from your mouse to be slow, you can improve the speed by changing the mouse pointer scheme. 2. On your office PC, right click on the desktop and select Personalize. 3. Select Change mouse pointers. 4. Set the scheme to Windows Standard (large) (system scheme). 5. Click OK. 7
Citrix Receiver Installation Errors 1. If you receive an error saying there is no Citrix client installed and the automatic installation process detailed at the beginning of this guide did not work, you can manually install the client from the Citrix website using a direct link from the front page of the portal. o Hyperlink is: http://www.citrix.com/downloads/citrix-receiver.html 2. You can also try the internet auto detection provided by Citrix. o Hyperlink is: http://receiver.citrix.com 3. A common practice is to remove older Citrix Clients, Reboot, and reinstall the latest Citrix Receiver. 8
