Terminology 1) ADS-B: Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast 2) UAT: Universal Access Terminal. 20) PIREP: PIlot REPort; a weather report of actual conditions encountered by an aircraft in flight. 21) XV Appliance: SkyVision Xtreme processor used to transmit Xtreme Vision display screen to any display via WiFi. ADS-B and Xtreme Vision TM The Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast network is part of the FAA s Next-Generation Air Transportation System. The goal is to completely replace outdated radar-based technology in the future with satellite-based technology. The benefits of this system are already being proven. Using ADS-B, pilots have access to real time traffic data (ADS-B UAT data refreshes at 1 Hz once each second) that does not degrade with terrain or distance and also includes weather information. The improved safety provided by ADS-B will allow room for the expected increase in air traffic over the next few years. Using NextGen ADS-B technology, pilots will require less assistance from air traffic controllers. Below is a brief list of ADS-B benefits as listed on the FAA website www.adsb.gov: Provides air-to-air surveillance capability. Provides surveillance to remote or inhospitable areas that do not currently have coverage with radar. Provides real-time traffic and aeronautical information in the cockpit. Allows for reduced separation and greater predictability in departure and arrival times. Supports common separation standards, both horizontal and vertical, for all classes of airspace. Improves ability of airlines to manage traffic and aircraft fleets. Improves ability of air traffic controllers to plan arrivals and departures far in advance. Reduces the cost of the infrastructure needed to operate the National Airspace System. Xtreme Vision TM has been developed as a solution to the problem of displaying ADS-B data. In keeping with the Next Generation technology that is ADS-B, SkyVision Xtreme has developed a modern 3D method for intuitively displaying ADS-B data. Pilots work in and react to 3 dimensions any time they are in a cockpit, yet for years their traffic and weather displays only gave them 2/3 of the picture. Xtreme Vision TM, on the other hand, adds the third dimension. The simple-to-understand manner in which traffic is displayed gives pilots access to information at a glance that once would have required them spending precious minutes reading displayed textual data. For example, in a 2D display, a pilot could tell that a traffic target was at a heading of 270, but would have to read textual data to find out if they were above or below their altitude and whether or not they were ascending or descending. With Xtreme Vision TM, this information is attained by just glancing at the 3D traffic representation. This intuitive 3D representation has become popular through Synthetic Vision displays of terrain, and Xtreme Vision now brings this interface to traffic and weather. Since ADS-B is a new technology, here are some things that you may want to know: 1) The ADS-B network uses TIS-B (Traffic Information Services Broadcast) traffic, which is uploaded by the FAA through a GBT (Ground Based Transceiver). This means that while on the ground, an aircraft must be in range of a GBT in order to receive the TIS-B or FIS-B (Weather) data. Once airborne and within range of a GBT, the UAT will begin receiving ADS-B data. 2) If any aircraft is equipped with an ADS-B transceiver, the UAT will receive that aircraft s information directly from that aircraft with or without the uplink from a GBT and it will be displayed on the Xtreme Vision display. 3) The ADS-B network uses FIS-B (Flight Information Services Broadcast) for meteorological and aeronautical information, including METAR, SPECI, TAF, and NOTAM. These data are also available on the Xtreme Vision TM display. This must be entered initially, even if you plan to utilize the self-assigned address. Note: If you purchased a Salus-3 portable ADS-B transceiver from Skyvision the N number and ICAO will have been entered prior to shipment to you. You can update the N number and ICAO for by launching the Xtreme Vision TM program and tapping the setup button in the bottom top left portion of the 3D traffic screen. After you have entered your N number in the search box, a page showing a host of information regarding your aircraft will appear. The code you re looking for is called the Mode S code and is listed, typically on the first page in the bottom right. For example: NOTICE Cont d. ** Squawk Code transmitted through ADS-B must match transponder s squawk code, with the TransMonSPE this is automatic** This can be adjusted in the Control Panel of Xtreme Vision TM. The FAA has determined that the same ATC-assigned Mode 3/A code must be transmitted by both the transponder and the ADS B Out message. If the code transmitted by ADS B differs from the Mode 3/A code transmitted by the transponder, it could result in duplicative codes or inaccurate reporting of aircraft position. If the aircraft s avionics are not capable of allowing a single point of entry for the transponder and ADS B Out Mode 3/A code, the pilot must ensure that conflicting codes are not transmitted to ATC. ATC uses the Mode 3/A code to identify aircraft that are under surveillance and possibly under ATC direction. This identifier is necessary to issue directions to specific aircraft about nearby air traffic. The Mode 3/A code and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) 24-bit address are duplicative for some functions. This duplication is necessary because many current ATC automation systems are not yet capable of using the ICAO 24-bit address. Therefore, the FAA retains this message element in the rule. In addition, the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM) defines the requirement in 4-5- 7c.2, excerpted below: c. ADS-B Capabilities 2. ADS-B avionics typically allow pilots to enter the aircraft's call sign and Air Traffic Control (ATC)-assigned transponder code, which will be transmitted to other aircraft and ground receivers. Pilots are cautioned to use care when selecting and entering the aircraft's identification and transponder code. Some ADS-B avionics panels are not interconnected to the transponder. Therefore, it is extremely important to ensure that the transponder code is identical in the ADS-B and transponder panel. Additionally, UAT systems provide a VFR "privacy" mode switch position that may be used by pilots when not wanting to receive air traffic services. This feature will broadcast a "VFR" ID to other aircraft and ground receivers, similar to the "1200" transponder code. 1. Startup You must be connected to the WiFi before you can receive or transmit via the UAT (ADS600-B, ADS600-EXP, or Salus-3). The XtremeVision (XV) tablet is setup to automatically connect to the NavWorxAP Wifi connection at startup. If you are using a different tablet connect to the WiFi network NavWorxAP before proceeding. When you turn the XV tablet on, it will automatically launch the Xtreme Vision TM app. If this is the first time you have used the device, please be patient. No Connection to NavWorxAP has been established: The following screen will appear if you have not established a WiFi connection with the NavWorxAP WiFi. You can double tap the left hand screen to minimize this screen and connect to the WiFi (NavWorxAP) After you have connected to the WiFi, tap the XtremeVision icon in the taskbar to return to this screen except it will then automatically connect to the UAT. Connection to WiFi has been established: If you already have established a connection to the WiFi (NavWorxAP) the systems will startup with the following screen and begin receiving the GPS signal. Note the traffic shown assumes you are either receiving ADS-B Out aircraft or have connected with an ADS-B ground station. Typically you will not receive much or any traffic until you climb to an altitude where you can receive an ADS-B ground station GBT (Ground Based Transceiver). Setting up the UAT without a TransMonSPE installed: If you are using the ADS600-B, ADS600-EXP, or Salus-3 and do not have a TransMonSPE installed to automatically provide the Squawk Code and Pressure Altitude from the transponder you will need to setup some initial data and then update the Squawk Code each time you are given a new Squawk from ATC. 1. Initial setup requires that you enter your N Number and ICAO, and turn the Transmit on to mode C. a. After launching Xtreme Vision TM, you will need to input information about your aircraft to be transmitted through the ADS-B UAT. This is an FAA requirement and is also required in order to receive traffic information from the ADS-B GBT s. To access the Control Panel, simply click the button in the upper left corner of the Xtreme Vision TM display screen. The following image illustrates the functions of the Control Panel. UAT Control Panel: The Control Panel allows you to enter pertinent information about your aircraft. It also gives you control over what information is transmitted through your ADS-B UAT Transceiver. 1) Allows you to control how and if you transmit your ADS-B information (see Fig1) 2) Allows you to manually enter your Squawk code 3) Allows you to enter your aircraft s call sign (see Fig2) Xtreme Vision TM User s Guide Version 3.0.21 Page 13 Copyright SkyVision Xtreme TM 2016

4) Tapping this will mask your ICAO address from the transmission. **User must squawk VFR while in anonymous mode.** 5) Allows you to send an IDENT message to ATC 6) Allows you to manually enter your ICAO address (see Fig3) 7) Automatically sets Squawk code to VFR (1200) 8) Allows you to Squawk Emergency codes (see Fig4) Special Note for use with the TransMonSPE installed: If a TransMonSPE is installed and connected the Squawk Code and Pressure Altitude will be supplied to the UAT automatically and therefore can not be changed via the UAT Control Panel. In addition the Transmitter state is determined by the state of the transponder, On / Off/ Standby/Mode, etc. The TransMonSPE use must be selected in the UAT Console program on initial setup of the UAT. Barometric Pressure of closest Wx reporting station. 2 Ownship track using True Course 3 UAT Status UAT connected, GBT being received (RS Active), UTC time (GPS ok) 4 Crosshairs that orient pilot to direction of flight in relation to targets displayed with Xtreme Vision TM. Horizon line banks and climbs with aircraft (GPS derived). 5 Audio Alert button: this allows users to toggle audio alerts on/off. The native resolution of this version is 1280 x 800 pixels but it can be run at lower resolutions provided the display can handle a scaling of the screens. Tips and Techniques 1. Most important please read the User Guides Both the Xtreme Vision and Tablet User Guides are on the launch screen. Shutdown To get to the User Guides press the red button on the XtremeVision screen and a desktop will appear with icons for the two User Guides. 2. When you turn on the tablet it will automatically boot up to the XtremeVision program. Please note there will be a pause from the main screen while the XtremeVision program is launching and setting up communications with the Skyvision portable. You do not need to do anything, just wait for it to launch. 3. If you start the tablet without powering on the Skyvision portable you will receive a message box (twice): Xtreme Vision TM User s Guide Version 3.0.21 Page 60 Copyright SkyVision Xtreme TM 2016

Just click OK each time to continue. This will not happen in normal operations where the Skyvision portable is powered up first and even if not powered up first the tablet will automatically connect when the Skyvision portable is powered up. 4. When playing back a log file for viewing or practice (Press the Hardware button and then the Playback tab, see User Guide) you need to either disconnect the Skyvision Portable or power it down. Otherwise the traffic will appear jerky since the program is trying to both playback and receive from the portable. When you want to connect to the Skyvision portable again make sure you either turn off the tablet completely and cause a reboot or go to the Hardware Tab and reconnect to the UAT. 5. The UAT antenna should be placed in a window (windscreen recommended) so it has as much a view downward as possible. The UAT must trigger the ground stations in order to get TIS traffic. We recommend placing the antenna similar to this photo. Our experience has shown this to be the optimum placement for most aircraft. Recommended UAT antenna placement (Portable version) Front windscreen as high as possible. 6. Tablet Battery: The battery in the tablet will power the tablet for approximately 8 9 hours of normal use. When in sleep mode the battery normally will run for approximately 36 hours before a charge is required. If you are going to fly again in a few hours it is acceptable to put the tablet in sleep mode. If you are not going to be flying again in a few hours it is important that you fully shutdown the tablet by pressing and holding the power button for approximately 3 seconds. A screen will appear and you need to pull down this screen with your finger to fully shut down the tablet. 7. Minimize Skyvision Panels to check battery or wifi / Bluetooth connections: To minimize the entire Skyvision screen so you can check other computer settings like Wifi or Bluetooth connection, double tap anywhere on the 3D traffic screen. To restore to the Skyvison screens tap the XtremeVision icon at the bottom of the screen. 8. Expand either the traffic or the weather panels to full screen: You can expand either the traffic or weather / map screen to be full screen by using a two finger tap on the panel (traffic or weather/map) to expand that panel to full screen view. To return to a split screen view with both traffic and weather/map tap the full screen with two fingers. Skyvision Xtreme, LLC Troubleshooting No UAT : 1) Check UAT power: Make sure that all cables are secure and any switches/circuits required for powering UAT have not been turned off. 2) Check Bluetooth Module power: After eliminating UAT power as the problem, check the Bluetooth Module to make sure the indicator light is on. If not, check the connection between the UAT and the Bluetooth Module. Since the Bluetooth Module gets power from one of the pins on the UAT connector, make sure it is securely plugged into the UAT. 3) Check the COM connection to Xtreme Vision TM. The easiest way to make sure Xtreme Vision TM has not lost its COM connection is as follows: a. Click the Program Setup button on the synthetic vision view: b. Click Connect, wait for the Disconnect button to turn white and Connect button to turn dark, then tap OK 4) If the problem persists, recycle power to the device or restart the computer. 5) If this still does not solve the problem, please contact technical support. I m getting Weather but no Traffic : The ADS-B NextGen system requires input from ADS-B equipped aircraft to trigger TIS-B information transmission. FIS-B information, however, remains active in the ADS-B NextGen system regardless of the transmitter status. This means that if your UAT is not set to transmit, it will not receive any traffic information, but it will still receive all the weather information. transmission problem may also be the cause of receiving sporadic traffic information. The ADS- B GBT s, which collect and transmit ADS-B information to and from aircraft are set to be triggered by UAT transmissions. This means that if another ADS-B equipped aircraft is transmitting to the same GBT from which you are receiving, you will receive traffic and weather information even if you are not transmitting. However, if that aircraft moves beyond range of the GBT from which you re receiving data, or you move beyond the range of that particular GBT, you will abruptly lose traffic information if you are not also transmitting. 1) This is typically a simple issue to resolve by simply entering the Control Panel on Xtreme Vision TM, tapping the Transmit button and setting it to ON. 2) If #1 above does not work then it is possible that your ICAO number is not input correctly. The transmit function will be disabled unless your ICAO number has been entered in the Control Panel of Xtreme Vision TM. ** Bear in mind that you must have your aircraft s N number & ICAO number entered in the control panel to legally transmit ADS-B signals. However, if Self Assigned Address is selected the ICAO number is scrambled and ATC cannot see the actual ICAO number entered in the system. See Before Startup.** 3) If neither #1 or #2 work, then it is possible that your UAT is has its transmitter internally disabled or the UAT is not accepting input from the control panel to activate the transmit function. At this point you should contact your avionics installer to troubleshoot the UAT transmitter. If you re unable to solve the problem with your avionics installer, contact your UAT manufacturer. DELIVERY AND TITLE All shipments by Skyvision Xtreme are F.O.B. point of shipment from Skyvision Xtreme's facility and the amount of all transportation charges will be paid to Skyvision Xtreme by the Customer in addition to the purchase price of the Products. Subject to Skyvision Xtreme's right of stoppage in transit, delivery of the Products to the carrier will constitute delivery to Customer and title and risk of loss will pass to Customer. Skyvision Xtreme will make reasonable efforts to initiate shipment and schedule delivery as close as possible to Customer's requested delivery date(s). Customer acknowledges that delivery dates provided by Skyvision Xtreme are estimates only and that Skyvision Xtreme will not be liable for failure to deliver on such dates. Selection of the carrier and delivery route will be made by Skyvision Xtreme unless specifically designated by Customer. 6. SKYVISION XTREME ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY Limited Warranty. Skyvision Xtreme products are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one year from the date of original purchase. For the duration of the warranty period, at its option, Skyvision Xtreme will repair or replace any product which fails during normal use. No charge will be made to the customer for parts and labor for product repair or replacement provided that the customer shall be responsible for all shipping costs after 30 days from the original purchase date. Skyvision Xtreme, at its sole discretion, retains the exclusive right to either repair or replace the product unit with a new unit or with a newly reconditioned unit. Any replacement product will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or ninety (90) days, whichever is longest. Restrictions. This Limited Warranty does not apply if (a) the product has not been installed, operated, or maintained in accordance with instructions supplied by Skyvision Xtreme, (c) has been altered, except by Skyvision Xtreme or its authorized representative, or (c) has been subjected to abnormal physical or electrical stress, abnormal environmental conditions, misuse, negligence, or accident, (d) the factory applied original case seals or serial number label has been broken, altered or Xtreme Vision TM User s Guide Version 3.0.21 Page 67 Copyright SkyVision Xtreme TM 2016

removed from the product. Disclaimer of Warranty. EXCEPT AS SPECIFIED IN THIS WARRANTY SECTION, ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED CONDITIONS, REPRESENTATIONS, AND WARRANTIES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE ARE HEREBY EXCLUDED TO THE EXTENT AN IMPLIED WARRANTY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED. SUCH WARRANTY IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE EXPRESS WARRANTY PERIOD. THIS WARRANTY GIVES THE CUSTOMER SPECIAL LEGAL RIGHTS AND THE CUSTOMER MAY HAVE OTHER LEGAL RIGHTS THAT MAY VARY FROM JURISDICTION TO JURISDICTION. SKYVISION XTREME SHALL NOT BE LIABLE, IN ANY EVENT, FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, WHETHER RESULTING FROM THE USE, MISUSE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT OR FROM DEFECTS IN THE PRODUCT. 7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITIES IN NO EVENT SHALL SKYVISION XTREME BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE including, but not limited to, damages resulting from loss of profit or revenue, recall costs, claims for service interruptions or failure to supply downtime, testing, installation or removal costs, costs of substitute products, property damage, personal injury, death or legal expenses. Customer's recovery from Skyvision Xtreme for any claim shall not exceed the purchase price paid by Customer for the goods, irrespective of the nature of the claim, whether in warrant, contract or otherwise. 8. INDEMNIFICATION Customer agrees to indemnify and hold Skyvision Xtreme, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers and employees, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys fees and costs, made by any third party due to or arising out of Customers use of the product. 9. STATEMENTS AND ADVICE If statements or advice, technical or otherwise, are offered or given to Customer, such statements or advice will be deemed to be given as an accommodation to Customer and without charge. Skyvision Xtreme shall have no responsibility or liability for the content or use of such statements or advice. Skyvision Xtreme Technical support is provided by telephone and, therefore, extremely limited in scope which prevents us from the direct participation in the installation of the product into the customers aircraft. 10. END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT (EULA) All products are covered under the following End User License Agreement (EULA). Terms. By installing or using the Xtreme Vision ( product ), you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this license agreement. Please read this agreement carefully. Skyvision Xtreme, LLC ("Skyvision Xtreme") grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the product. Title, ownership rights, and intellectual property rights in and to the product remain with Skyvision Xtreme. Refund. If you do not agree to the terms of this EULA, Skyvision Xtreme is unwilling to license the product to you. In such event, you may not use the licensed product, and you should promptly contact Skyvision Xtreme for a refund. obtain a full refund. Copyright. You acknowledge that the product is the property of Skyvision Xtreme and is protected under United States of America copyright laws and international copyright treaties. You further acknowledge that the structure, organization, and source design of the hardware and software are valuable trade secrets of Skyvision Xtreme. You agree not to open the product, break the EULA seal, nor decompile, disassemble, modify, reverse assemble, reverse engineer, or reduce to human readable form the hardware or software or any part thereof or create any derivative works based on the product. No Warranties. Except as expressly provided in the limited warranty section, the products hardware and its operating system software are provided to you as is without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, waranties of noninfringement, merchantability, and /or fitness for a particular purpose. The entire risk of the quality and performance of both the software and hardware is with the user. No Liability for Consequential Damages. Skyvision Xtreme Inc. and its suppliers shall not be held liable for any damages suffered or incurred by you (including, but not limited to, general, special, consequential or incidental damages for loss of business profits, buisness interruption, personal compensation and the like), arising from or in connection with the delivery, use, or performance of the product and its software. Customer Remedies. Skyvision Xtreme. and its suppliers entire liability and your exclusive remedy shall be, at Skyvision Xtreme option, either (1) return of the product purchase price, not to exceed list price, or (2) repair or replacement of the product which is returned to Skyvision Xtreme with original proof of purchase. 11. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE: Seller's warranty shall not be enlarged, and no obligation or liability shall arise out of Seller's rendering of technical advice, facilities or service in connection with Buyer's order or the goods furnished. 12. FORCE MAJEURE Skyvision Xtreme will not be liable for delays in delivery or for failure to perform its obligations due to causes beyond its reasonable control including, but not limited to, product allocations, material shortages, labor disputes, transportation delays, unforeseen circumstances, acts of God, acts or omissions of other parties, acts or omissions of civil or military authorities, Government priorities, fires, strikes, floods, severe weather conditions, computer interruptions, terrorism, epidemics, quarantine restrictions, riots or war. Skyvision Xtreme's time for delivery or performance will be extended by the period of such delay or Skyvision Xtreme may, at its option, cancel any order or remaining part thereof, without liability by giving notice to Customer. 13. EXPORT CONTROL Skyvision Xtreme is committed to compliance with all U.S. Export Regulations and Laws. Skyvision Xtreme will not sell or ship to countries embargoed by the U.S. Treasury Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC). Skyvision Xtreme will not sell or ship to individuals or organizations identified by the U.S. Treasury as Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons. Skyvision Xtreme will not sell or ship products prohibited under Export Administration Regulations to individuals or organizations identified by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). pursuant to Export Administration Regulations. Skyvision Xtreme participates in BIS Export Enforcement and OFAC transaction reporting. Furthermore, Skyvision Xtreme prohibits the reexport, brokering or transshipment of its products to any individual, organization or country prohibited by the OFAC or BIS. The sale, resale or other disposition of Products, and any related technology or documentation, are subject to the export control laws, regulations and orders of the United States and may be subject to the export and/or import control laws and regulations of other countries. Customer agrees to comply with all such laws, regulations and orders. Customer further acknowledges that it shall not directly or indirectly export any Products to any country to which such export or transmission is restricted or prohibited. Customer acknowledges its responsibility to obtain any license to export, re-export or import as may be required. 14. GENERAL The Terms and Conditions may not be modified or cancelled without Skyvision Xtreme's written agreement. Accordingly, goods furnished and services rendered by Skyvision Xtreme are sold only on the terms and conditions stated herein. The sale of Products hereunder will be governed by the Terms and Conditions, notwithstanding contrary or additional terms and conditions in any order purchase order, planning schedule, acknowledgment, confirmation or any other form or document issued by either party affecting the purchase and/or sale of Products. Notwithstanding any terms and conditions on Customer's order, the information and conditions on these Terms and Conditions are controlling over Customer and Skyvision Xtreme. Any conflicting statements or terms listed on the Customer purchase orders, invoices, confirmations or other Customer generated documents ("Customer Documents"), whether heretofore or hereafter submitted, are negated and all different or additional terms and conditions contained in any Customer Documents are hereby objected to by Skyvision Xtreme. Skyvision Xtreme's performance of any contract is expressly made conditional on Customer's agreement to Skyvision Xtreme's Terms and Conditions of Sale, unless otherwise specifically agreed upon in writing by Skyvision Xtreme. In the absence of such agreement, commencement of performance and/or delivery shall be for Customer's convenience only and shall not be deemed or construed to be acceptance of Customer's terms and conditions or any of them. If a contract is not earlier formed by mutual agreement in writing, acceptance by Customer of any goods or services shall be deemed acceptance by Customer of the terms and conditions stated herein. No rights, duties, agreements or obligations hereunder, may be assigned or transferred by operation of law, merger or otherwise, without the prior written consent of Skyvision Xtreme. The obligations, rights, terms and conditions hereof will be binding on the parties hereto and their respective successors and assigns. The waiver or breach of any term, condition or covenant hereof, or default under any provision hereof, will not be deemed to constitute a waiver of any other term, condition, or covenant contained herein, or of any subsequent breach or default of any kind or nature. Any provision hereof which is prohibited or unenforceable in any jurisdiction shall, as to such jurisdiction, be ineffective to the extent of such prohibition or unenforceability without invalidating the remaining provisions hereof in that jurisdiction, or affecting the validity or enforceability of such provision in any other jurisdiction. The Terms and Conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of North Carolina and the applicable laws of the United States.
