SYSTEM WEIGHT TRESPA Meteon façade system has an overall typical weight depending upon thickness: 8mm; Thickness (mm) Weight (Kg/m²)* 27.7 28.1 28.5 29.3 30.1 30.8 31.3 10mm; Thickness (mm) Weight (Kg/m²)* 30.5 30.9 31.3 32.1 32.9 33.6 34.1 13mm; Thickness (mm) Weight (Kg/m²)* 34.7 35.1 35.5 36.3 37.1 37.8 38.3 *Based on complete façade system - panel, rail and façade weight. For Project Specific weights, please contact Benchmark Technical Services Department. SYSTEM ATTACHMENT There are three different types of system attachment options which are as follows; Benchmark FF System The Trespa boards will be fixed with rivets to aluminium omega and zed profiles which are, in turn attached to the Karrier panel system. Benchmark SF System The Trespa boards will be fixed invisibly by attaching metal hanging brackets with stainless steel self tapping screws.the Trespa panels are attached to aluminium rails. Each panel has two adjusting points and a fixed point at the top of the panel through the attached brackets. The aluminium rail (powder coated black) is in turn attached to the. FINISH TYPES Certain finish types (typically Metallics) are subject to a directional finish which can appear as a slightly different colour if installed perpendicular to each other. To ensure consistent colour tone and directionality, façade elevations should be ordered in batches. SYSTEM PERFORMANCE Thermal Insulation Thermal Transmittance (U value) calculated in compliance with Building Regulations Approved Documents L2A & L2B (England & Wales), Technical Handbooks Non-Domestic Sections 6 (Scotland), Part F2 (Northern Ireland) and Part L (Republic of Ireland - based on the Overall Heat Loss Method). Thickness (mm) U-value (W/m²K) PLEASE NOTE: For England and Wales; 0.35 0.30 0.26 0.21 0.17 0.15 0.14 0.26 W/m²K is the U-Value used for Notional Building Wall. This U-Value or better is recommended for compliance and can be seen as underlined in the above table. For Scotland; 0.27 W/m²K is the U-Value used for Notional Building Wall. This U-Value or better is recommended for compliance and can be seen as highlighted in bold in the above table. STRUCTURAL LOAD/SPAN TABLE FOR KARRIER PANEL (To be checked against unfactored design wind-loads) Notes: 1. Values have been calculated using the limit state method in the European Recommendations for the Design of Sandwich Panels (ECCS document No.115 2001), taking imposed loads, temperature and creep into account. 2. For each value individual and combined load cases with appropriate load factors and temperatures have been considered. These are detailed under Structural Performance in Building Design Section. 3. The table is for dark coloured panels. 4. The following deflection limits have been used: Pressure Loading L/100 Suction Loading L/100 5. For intermediate values linear interpolation may be used. 6. The actual wind suction load resisted by the panel is dependent upon the number of fasteners used and material of the rail. The fastener calculation should be carried out in accordance with the appropriate standard. For further advice please contact Benchmark Envirocare Technical Services. 7. The allowable tolerance between bearing planes of adjacent supports is L/600, where L is the distance between supports. 8. Load span tables for spans outside of those shown are available from the Benchmark Technical Services department. PACKING AND STORAGE Façade The packing and storage of Trespa Meteon boards varies slightly dependent upon the attachment method. For the Benchmark FF System, Trespa façade boards will be laid flat on pallets which have supports at not more than 600mm centres. The packs will be wrapped in a waterproof membrane. For the Benchmark SF System, Trespa façade boards will have brackets attached so will be laid on a pallet face to face and back to back with supports in between at maximum of 600mm centres. The pallets will have supports at not more than 600mm centres. For both FF and SF options, boards should be stored in a clean dry frost free room. Treat boards like hardwood. Ensure no moisture forms between boards; do not place moisture sensitive paper layers between the boards. Boards removed from packs should be installed as soon as possible. The boards should not be stored upright leaning against anything as this could cause warping. The Benchmark s are stacked horizontally. Removable hot melt adhesive is laid between each panel. The top, bottom, sides and ends are protected with polystyrene and timber packing and the entire pack is wrapped in polythene. To ensure panels remain in prime condition while stored onsite, the panels need to be stored in a safe, clean and trade free area. Personnel should not walk over packs. Store the panels on a slight slope ensuring any penetrating rainwater drains off and ensure regular inspection the panel packs. Should panel s need to be stored for a period of time in excess of 3 months, please contact Benchmark Technical Services. The number of panels in each pack depends on panel length and weight. Typical pack height is 1100mm (based on 100mm thick panel). Maximum pack weight 1500kg. For information regarding the number of panels per pack, please contact Benchmark Technical Services. Sea Freight Fully timber crated packs are available on projects requiring delivery by sea freight shipping, at additional cost. Alternatively, steel containers can be used. Special loading charges apply. HANDLING Trespa boards are decorative end products so need to be treated with care. Do not slide them, but lift them and prevent getting dirt on and between the panels. If needed to be marked/coded, use adhesive stickers. If the boards have been provided with special protective foil, remove the foil within 24 hours of the boards being removed from the pallet. When lifting a pack of boards with straps fit protective corner pieces under straps. SITE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE Site assembly instructions are available from the Kingspan Benchmark Field Service Department QUALITY & DURABILITY Benchmark components are manufactured from the highest quality materials to rigorous quality control standards, complying with ISO 9001:2000 standard, ensuring long-term reliability and service life. GUARANTEES & WARRANTIES Benchmark will provide external coating and product guarantees on an individual project basis. DELIVERY AND OFF- LOADING Transportation of Benchmark packs to site is by road transport (unless indicated otherwise). It is the customer s responsibility to check the site for restrictions (i.e. entrance to site, power lines etc.) and agree a storage area to be used, also to identify the correct type/methods of off-loading/hoisting facilities to be used i.e. crane, crane forks, lifting beam/ slings and airbags, forklift or specialist lifting equipment. Always check the current certification of the crane, crane forks, lifting beam, slings, forklift, or specialist lifting equipment prior to carrying out offloading/hoisting operation (i.e. with correct current SWL Certification).
