3 System Benefits Introduction Introduction The Kingzip insulated standing seam roof system provides superior weathertightness, thermal, airtightness, fire, structural and durability performance. These combined features facilitate rapid build speed and enhanced site quality enabling building regulation compliance. Kingzip is a high specification insulated standing seam roof system suitable for new build and refurbishment. The standing seam concept allows it to be utilised on roof slopes 1.5 degrees or greater, after deflection and curved roofs 150 metre radius and over for coated steel. Market Sectors Available in cover widths of 500mm and 1000mm the system offers designers and planners architectural visual choice. Kingzip is available in a range of coloured steel or stucco aluminium external facings in panel lengths of up to 26 metres. Stucco aluminium faced panels can be site welded to ensure complete weather integrity. Product Data To complete the Kingzip system a full range of integrated accessories including fixing clips, barrel vault rooflights, gutters, architectural feature trims, penetration solutions and flashings are available. The standing seam joint is fully zipped up using 110 volt Power Seamer tools which are available for hire or purchase. Kingspan provide a full Technical Service Support to designers and contractors - Tel UK: +44 (0) and Ireland +353 (0) for any Kingzip projects. Model Specifications Installation training is available for contractors through our Field Services Department Tel: UK +44 (0) and Ireland +353 (0) Fastener Selection The paper we have printed on is from 80% postconsumer waste and the remaining 20% pulp is TCF (Totally Chlorine Free). This fibre is FSC certified (see fsc.org for details). In recognition, the range has been awarded both the NAPM and Eugropa recycled marks, two of the most prestigious and recognisable recycled certificates available. Packing Standard Packing Kingzip KS500/1000 ZIP are stacked interleaved weather sheet to weather sheet/liner to liner (to minimise pack height-removal from pack and installation eased due to narrow cover width). Two KS500/1000 ZIP panels are transported side by side within a pack to minimise packaging and stabilise pack. The number of panels in each pack depends on panel thickness and length. The tables below are shown as a guide. Quantities are reduced for exceptionally long panels. Typical pack height is 1100mm. Maximum pack weight is 1500kg. KS500 ZIP KS1000 ZIP Panel Core Thickness No. Panel/Pack (max.) Sea Freight Fully timber crated packs are available on projects requiring delivery by sea freight shipping, at additional cost. Alternatively, steel containers can be used. Special loading charges apply. Delivery All deliveries (unless indicated otherwise) are by road transport to project site. Off loading is the responsibility of the client. Site Installation Procedure Site assembly instructions are available from the Kingspan Envirocare Technical Services. Also Kingspan will be publishing Kingzip Installation Guides in the near future which will further help site installation. Product Data

The fastener quantities above are minimum and are to be used as broad guidelines only. With the Kingzip panel, (as with any other panel), design suction loads on the roof cladding should be calculated and issued by the Project Engineer. The uplift load can then be calculated for the purlin spacing and applied to the individual halter. This calculation will give the required quantity of fasteners per halter. The design suction loads to local areas of roof such as verges, ridge and eaves can be considerably more than general areas and must also be checked against the fastener arrangement. Individual fastener performance values can be obtained from the fastener supplier. Note that when talking directly to a fastener supplier a customer should be aware that the supplier may/will be talking about a fastener s ultimate structural characteristic performance and not the working load which will be half of the ultimate as recommended in BS 5427: Part 1: 1996 Annex B. Thinner purlins may mean lower fastener pull-out values from the purlins under wind uplift. This may then require the use of additional fasteners. The fastener pull-out values could actually dictate closer purlin spacings than usual. With purlins of thickness less than 1.5mm, please contact the Kingspan Envirocare Technical Services at the earliest opportunity. Note that there will be instances where an alternative fastener or pre-drilling will be required, for example, where a gutter wing rests over a purlin. Please contact the fastener supplier for advice. Contact for further advice: Kingspan Envirocare Technical Services on UK Tel: +44 (0) , Fax: +44 (0) , Ireland Tel: +353 (0) , Fax: +353 (0)
