Frederiksborg Castle "Magnificent" is a word that will definitely cross your mind when you first see this Renaissance castle. Built during the first decades of the 17th century, Frederiksborg Castle has been home to the Museum of National History since 1878. Kronborg Castle Assume a strategic vantage point at Kronborg Castle. Overlooking the narrowest passage of the Sound (Øresund), this Renaissance castle controlled ship passage into the Baltic Sea. With its position and fortifications, the castle played major roles of symbolic, commercial and strategic importance.
