Walking tour through the town center, from Piazza di Spagna to Piazza Navona, where you can see these masterpieces: Piazza di Spagna, and the Spanish Steps (Trinità dei Monti), Quirinale Palace (seat of the President of the Italian Republic), the Trevi Fountain, Fountain of the Four Rivers. Dinner savor Italian pizza while surrounded by the sights and sounds of this memorable piazza. DAY 3: ROME OF THE RENAISSANCE AND ANCIENT ROME Tour highlights: Vatican City, Saint Peter s Square, Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel. 3 Transfer via private motor coach from Rome to Florence and hotel accomodations. Take in some of the most famous works of the Renaissance period. City tour begins with a visit to the Piazza del Duomo, the Baptistery, the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto s Bell Tower, and the Strozzi Palace. It continues to the Accademia Gallery, which houses an extraordinary display of Italian Renaissance and European masterpieces dating from the 7th to the 18th century. DAY 5: HALF DAY TRIP THROUGH LEONARDO DA VINCI'S TUSCANY PLACES In private motor coach, travel to: Anchiano, the countryside or hamlet of Vinci which is Leonardo s birthplace, and Bacchereto, where his grandmother lived, and where Leonardo was exposed to Vinci s longstanding painting tradition. It is here, in the family kiln, that he also delves into the art of ceramic production and sculpture. Return to Florence to visit the museum of Leonardo da Vinci and see reproductions of his works. DAY 6: TRANSFER TO VENICE Transfer via private motor coach from Florence to Venice and accomodation in Mestre. Your Venetian adventure begins tracing the course of its canals, "campielli" small squares, its foundations, and bridges. Bask in the beauty of some of the world s most famous sights: San Marco Square, the Ducal Palace, the Bridge of "Sighs", the Ca d Oro and the Rialto. 4 DAY 7: THE PALLADIAN VILLAS OF THE VENETO The Brenta River and its Palladio Villas Situated along the Brenta River between Padova (Padua) and Venice, are many beautiful country mansions known as Ville Palladio. Built by the architect, Andrea Palladio ( ), these classic structures were commissioned by wealthy Venetian families during the 14th century and onwards. The tour includes: Villa Pisani, Villa Seriman and Villa Foscari more commonly known as La Malcontenta, The Discontented. Also along the Brenta river, are interesting examples of hydraulic engineering of the 19th century which include the navigli and sluices of Leonardo s drawings. You will board the "BURCHIELLO" and navigate to Villa Widmann for a guided tour of the Villa. The river cruise continues navigating to Dolo where you will have free time for lunch and relaxation. Travel back to the hotel by private bus. DAY 8: MURANO Board a private boat to the island of Murano, for a visit to the glass factory that produces traditional and artisan works. Explanation by Mastro Vetraio. Shopping for gifts in the glass factory. Tour Venice, the fairytale city with our tour leader. 5 DAY 9: TRANSFER TO MILAN Transfer via private motor coach from Venice to Milan. Walking tour through examples highlights of gothic and medieval architecture: Il Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II,Teatro La Scala, Santa Maria delle Grazie, the location of Leonardo s mural painting, the Last Supper, in the refectory of its Convent, Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, Castello Sforzesco. DAY 10: EXPO MILAN 2015 Expo 2015 is the next scheduled Universal Exposition, and will be hosted by Milan, between May 1, and October 31, The event marks Milan s second time as its host, the first being the Milan International of Expo 2015 will explore the theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life" and will host over 130 participants. It tackles the great problem of sustainable progress, and shows elements of innovation in technology and science connected to the field of food, in order to contrast feed problems that still today plague several areas of the world. The idea and the project of Expo 2015 Milan is to gather the most prestigous minds of the world while the symbol of Expo 2015 is the Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian man, symbol of evolution, of growing and of the study of human figure. Visitors will experience a unique journey that looks at the complex theme of nutrition. They will have the possibility to take a trip around the world, sampling the food and traditions of people from all over the globe.
