CAMPUS LIVING RESIDENCE LIFE - SUMMER 2016 NOTE: UM conducts an annual shutdown of the Heating Plant in order to perform necessary maintenance. The annual shutdown is tentatively scheduled for May 21-30, 2016. During this time HOT water will NOT be available. Participants staying in residence halls are expected to comply with all residence hall regulations. Clean, comfortable, and convenient room furnishings provided are: single bed, closet, chest or dresser, study table, chair, curtains, and wastebasket. Linen is NOT provided. Each resident is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their individual room, common area, and bathroom. Residents will be charged for damage to the room, cleaning charges, lost bedroom keys, lost suite access cards, and/or lost outdoor access cards. THINGS TO BRING from home include: LINEN (for standard twin size bed), mattress pad, bedding, towels, fan, and other personal care items. Note: Air conditioning is not provided, so bringing a fan is highly recommended. INTERNET UM provides both wired in-room internet service as well as a courtesy guest wireless network for campus visitors. The grizzly-guest wireless network uses open, unencrypted transmission and is not intended to send or receive sensitive information. TO MAKE A RESERVATION: If you are a current student, housing charges will be applied to your Cyberbear account within two business days of submitting the summer housing application. If you are not a current UM student, payment in full is required at the time an application is submitted. If paying via check, please remit payment to the University of Montana. If payment is via credit card, please submit the housing application and call the Residence Life Office between 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday, with the credit card information. Please note, we do not accept American Express. In order to receive a refund, cancellations must be received in writing 5 days prior to the expected arrival date. To cancel a housing reservation, please email rjoseph@mso.umt.edu. RESERVATION INFORMATION Housing is available in Pantzer Hall from May 14 July 30, 2016. Pantzer suites will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Pantzer Hall closes at 2:00p.m.on Saturday, July 30, 2016 and residents will be required to check out by that time. Housing charges are based on the number of nights a room has been reserved. The nightly rate is $21.00 per person, per night. There is a discount from May 21-30 when hot water is not available. PANTZER HALL Constructed in 1995, Pantzer Hall was named for Robert Pantzer, UM's President from 1966 to 1973. Located on the southwest side of campus, creating a plaza with Elrod/Duniway and Miller Halls, Pantzer Hall has a capacity of 201 with 184 of the assignments within four-person suites. Similar to all of our residence halls, Pantzer Hall is a smoke-free building. Each suite has four private bedrooms, two bathrooms, common living room, storage closet, refrigerator, and microwave oven. Pantzer Hall is accessible to students with disabilities. Parking and outdoor basketball and volleyball courts are nearby. The diagram below represents the layout of most suites in Pantzer Hall.
Driving Directions West Bound I-90: 1. Take Missoula's first exit onto Van Buren Street, turn left at the stop sign and merge into the right lane. 2. At the stop light, turn right onto Broadway Street. 3. Move into the furthest left lane, and turn left onto Madison at the stoplight. 4. Driving over the bridge, stay in the left lane, and veer left at the fork in the road. After the fork, keep to the left 5. and turn at the stop light. After making a left, get into the right lane. You will be heading due east and directly in front of you will be the Adams Center. You are now on campus. East Bound I-90: 1. Take Missoula's last exit onto Van Buren Street, Exit 105. Turn right at the stop sign and merge into the right lane. 2. Follow steps 2-4 from above. From Missoula International Airport: 1. Leaving the airport, turn right onto Broadway Street. 2. Take the first left leading you to the entrance of East Bound I-90. 3. Follow I-90 and take Missoula's last exit onto Van Buren Street, turning right at the stop sign. 4. Follow steps 2-4 from above. From Highway 12 & 93 North: 1. Highway 12 & 93 become Brooks Street through Missoula. Follow Brooks Street through Missoula to Higgins Avenue. Brooks Merges with Higgins at Hellgate High School. 2. Be sure you are in the right lane, and turn right onto Sixth Street. 3. Follow Sixth Street for six blocks to the entrance of campus.
VISITOR PARKING The University of Montana welcomes many visitors to campus daily. Parents, friends of the university, official visitors, conference attendees, and vendors are all vital to the function of the schools, facilities, and services. There is no free visitor parking on the main campus (aside from the 20-minute Quick Stops available for one use daily). However, there are parking options for visitors. DAILY PARKING PASS - valid in regular, decal lots only ONE DAY PASS - $3.00 FIVE DAY PASS - $10.00 These passes are sold at the UM Police Department, University Center Bookstore, and Info Desk, and at the Treasury Office located on the second floor in the Lommasson Center. HOURLY PAY - $1.00 per hour Hourly pay stubs are available from the dispensers in the pay lots. These lots are strategically placed around campus and can be found on the parking map highlighted in yellow. The pay stubs are only valid in the hourly pay lots. QUICK STOP PARKING - FREE (one use per day, no permit required) For pick-ups, deliveries, and errands provided at convenient locations on campus; maximum parking time is 20 minutes, (unless posted otherwise).
