IELTS EXAM PREPARATION 2017 IELTS EXAME PREPARATION IELTS is the International English Language Testing System, designed for people who want to study where English is the main language of communication. Results from IELTS tests are recognised by other universities, colleges and professional bodies in the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand and throughout the world. IELTS gives you a test report that shows an overall score for your level of English ability from 1 (non-user) to 9 (expert user). The test is made of four parts Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The Speaking test is a face-to-face interview with a certified Examiner. HOMESTAY ACCOMMODATION HOMESTAY ACCOMMODATION Living with a family is a good way to practise your English outside the classroom and experience the British way of life. Your host family will provide you with a comfortable room, breakfast and dinner every day and lunches at weekends. LOCATION Most host families live in residential areas around the city with easy access to the school. It is very common in Cambridge for people to travel between 20 to 40 minutes by bus to and from school or work. YOUR HOMESTAY HOST You may stay with a family with children, a single person, a retired couple or a young couple. Many different types of people enjoy hosting foreign students. To ensure that we find the best family for you, please inform us about any special requirements well in advance. Once we find the right host family for you, we will send you the address and a brief description of the family, no later then 1 week before your course starts. QUALITY Our Welfare Officer personally visits each host family to ensure that the highest standards are maintained and keeps in close contact with the family during your stay. The Welfare Officer will make sure everything runs smoothly and is always available to speak to you. SERVICES Your room is cleaned once a week and bedding and towels are also changed weekly. Your laundry can be done once a week. INTERNET Internet is available in the homes of all of our homestay hosts. CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY ACCOMMODATION CCOMMODATION S SUMMER 2017 RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION The Cambridge University Accommodation is situated in a historical area close to central Cambridge. RC summer residence option gives you more independence and it s also a great way of experiencing the British student lifestyle. LOCATION The residence is only 5 minutes on foot from the colourful city centre of Cambridge and a further 20 minutes to Regent Cambridge. You will also be within a stone s throw of a shopping arcade, different theatres, the post office, some pubs, cafés, restaurants and nightclubs as well as small local shops in this lively area. SERVICE The rooms are cleaned once a week and the bins emptied daily. Bedding and towels are provided by the college and changed weekly. YOUR ROOM Your bedroom will be fully furnished with a bed, a bedside cupboard, a large desk and desk light, a desk chair, a washbasin, a wardrobe (closet), bookshelves and chest of drawers. You will share a bathroom with other students staying in the residence. OTHER FACILITIES There are three kitchens to be shared with other students.
