3 Our School It s time to learn in an exciting, dynamic and multi-cultural environment Welcome to Linguatime! We hope that this brochure will give you all the information you need about our school, our teaching techniques, our team and our unique location in the very heart of one of Malta s most popular destinations. If you want to boost your English skills as effectively as possible, then you need the support and experience of a school with a proven track record for success. Established in 1998 and accredited by both the International Association of Language Centres (IALC) and the Federation of English Language Teaching Organisations in Malta (FELTOM), Linguatime is considered to be one of Malta s foremost language schools. In fact, we ve successfully taught thousands of students from over 40 countries since our launch 15 years ago. And, since 2010, over 97% of them said they would recommend Linguatime as an excellent place to learn English. Our school is ideally located in the bustling town of Sliema, enjoying beautiful sea views across to nearby St Julian s Bay. It can comfortably accommodate around 200 students at a time. Our premises are newly refurbished yet housed within a typical seafront Maltese building that s bursting with traditional features. With a focus on student well-being, our in-house amenities include a TV and lounge area, garden, snacks and drinks facilities, and a DVD room.

The scope of this course is to help you to communicate effectively in English in a variety of everyday situations: e.g. socializing with foreign friends; dealing with Englishspeaking clients and colleagues; or travel-related situations such as ordering a meal in a restaurant or asking for directions. Each lesson will focus on a particular topic or skill and will be taught in an engaging way to enhance your learning experience. All of our classes are held in a friendly atmosphere that encourages you to join in and make the most of every task. Students are guided on correct grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, colloquial English and idioms using proven teaching methods. Business Business English 20 TOEIC Whether you re preparing for an exam, hoping to be accepted at an English-speaking university, or simply keen to improve your English in the shortest time possible, this type of course will help you to achieve your goals. Following on from your General English 20 lessons in the morning, you ll have the undivided attention of one of our trained teachers in the afternoon to focus on your specific needs and prepare you for your chosen exam in the most effective way. Preparing for an English language exam can be a daunting task. However, with our teachers guidance you ll be able to prepare the necessary skills and language abilities to get the score you are hoping for. A course of this kind will also include corporate, fieldspecific topics such as economics, finance, law, trade or any other topic which is relevant to the students.

Bearing this in mind, it s very important for us to offer you the right accommodation during your time in Malta after all, this will help to facilitate your learning and, hopefully, boost your opportunities for learning beyond the classroom. We have a range of accommodation options to according to your budget. These include: apartments, homestay host families and a variety of welcoming hotels, all within walking distance of Linguatime and the surrounding attractions and amenities in Sliema. There s lots to consider when choosing the right option for your specific requirements. We ll be on hand to help and we ll ask all the important questions to ensure you make an informed choice. We will then send you a profile of your accommodation two weeks before your scheduled arrival, explaining everything you need to know about your choice. 8 Shared Self-Catering Apartments If you prefer the freedom of your own apartment, then our self-catering shared apartments could be ideal for you. Generally located within a 10-minute walking distance from the school, each apartment has excellent facilities, including a fully-equipped kitchen, a living and dining area, free Wi-Fi and comfortable bedrooms. All of the apartments are self-catering so meals are not included, which means you could choose to cook for yourself, share meals with your flat mates, or check out one of the several cafés and restaurants nearby. This is actually a great way of making friends, and gives you plenty of opportunities to practice your English skills. All of the apartments are well-kept and have been designed with students in mind. Single rooms are available and you can also request to share with students from different countries, which will give you more opportunities to practice speaking in English. Homestay If you d really like to immerse yourself in the Englishspeaking experience, what better way is there than by staying with an English-speaking family? It really is the most economical and beneficial accommodation for any student, and you re bound to develop a fantastic bond with your host family, as well as with your other roommates. Throughout your stay, you ll join your hosts for meals and have plenty of opportunities to chat, while living in a welcoming environment that will come to feel like a home away from home. Of course, you ll also have plenty of freedom to explore Malta at your own pace, possibly taking the advice of your hosts as they make their suggestions for the places you should visit while you re here. 9 Mellieha is set in one of the most picturesque parts of the island and is ideal for a relaxing day. The surrounding area is home to some of the best beaches, including Mellieha Bay and Golden Bay. It is also popular for hiking and horseriding in the Majjistral Nature Reserve, and birdwatching in the Ghadira Nature Reserve. As the larger of Malta s two sister islands, Gozo is a destination in its own right. With beautiful beaches, quaint little villages and a culture all of its own, it makes sense to spend some time here whether that s an afternoon of sightseeing or a weekend of complete relaxation. As the smallest of the three main islands within the archipelago, Comino has a personality all of its own. Very popular with visitors in summer, it is best-known for the Blue Lagoon, a small, beautiful beach with incredible turquoise waters. Malta s capital city is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a truly incredible place to visit. With a delightful blend of old-world charm and contemporary facilities, you can enjoy countless hours here exploring, dining and shopping. There are 11 prehistoric temples in Malta and many of them are located in and around this part of the island. You ll find Hagar Qim, Mnajdra and the Tarxien Temples nearby. All of them date back to between 5, BC and are on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
