NB: Those who are currently serving as Assistant Lecturer on permanent and pensionable terms in other universities and are willing to transfer at the same grade will be considered for this position. Evidence for registration for Ph.D. and advancement towards acquiring it is required. Those with teaching/research experience at university/research institute level and have completed Ph.D. research work or are writing Ph.D. thesis will have an added advantage. LECTURER REF. MU/AD/16/001 - (1 POST) An earned Ph.D. degree in Library/Information Science or related fields with 3 years experience as Senior Librarian. Two (2) articles in peer reviewed journals. CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER - GRADE 14 - REF. MU/AD/16/002 - (1 POST) Masters degree in Supplies/Procurement/Business Administration or equivalent qualification, plus full professional qualification in Procurement and Supplies.Must be a full member of the Kenya Institute of Supply Management of good standing. Twelve (12) years experience, three ( 3) years of which should have been at the level of Assistant Senior Supplies/Procurement Officer Grade 13 Membership to a professional body. SENI LIBRARIAN - GRADE 13 - REF. MU/AD/16/003 - (1 POST) Masters degree in Library/Information Science or related field. Must have five (5) years experience as a Librarian. Minimum of one (1) article in peer reviewed journal. SENI ASSISTANT REGISTRAR (ADMISSIONS) - GRADE 13 - REF. MU/AD/16/004 - (1 POST) Masters Degree in a relevant field plus three (3) years administrative experience. Member of a recognized professional administration or management body Must have served satisfactorily for three (3) years as an Assistant Registrar or equivalent. SENI ASSISTANT REGISTRAR (EXAMINATIONS) - GRADE 13 -REF.MU/AD/16/005 - (1 POST) Masters Degree in a relevant field plus three (3) years administrative experience. Member of a recognized professional administration or management body Must have served satisfactorily for three (3) years as an Assistant Registrar or equivalent.. Should be a member of a professional body e.g. Security Institute (UK). Should have served for three (3) years as a Senior Security officer Grade 11. ASSISTANT REGISTRAR (ACADEMIC) GRADE -12 REF. Diploma in Secretarial Studies Business English III, Commerce II, Secretarial Duties II, Office Management III, Shorthand III (100 wpm) or Audio-Typewriting III and Typewriting 50 wpm Must be computer literate with a certificate in Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Data Base Management packages. Six (6) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which must have been at Grade 5/6. NB: Without these qualifications one should have served for three years in Grade 5/6 and attained typing speed of 50 words per minute. ASSISTANT SECRETARY- GRADE 5/6 REF. Must have five (5) years experience and in particular experience in driving a 67 seater bus or bigger. TERMS OF SERVICE The terms of service include basic salary, a generous medical health insurance scheme, house allowance and commuter allowance among others. Except for the Tutorial Fellows which is a training position and who will be appointed on a one (1) renewable contracts, successful candidates will be appointed on permanent and pensionable terms subject to a satisfactory probation period.
