RECOMMENDED ENERGY SAVING OPPORTUNITIES To help reduce energy costs, Consumers Energy Business Energy Efficiency Program completed an energy assessment at your facility and identified the following energy saving opportunities for your consideration. This report is an estimate and references the maximum incentive available which assumes each of the energy savings measures is fully implemented according to code. Both incentives and actual energy savings can vary, depending on changing conditions or interpretation of the incentive being applied. In some cases, the incentive offered will be the lesser of amount in the report or 70 percent of actual costs. See the corresponding brochures for specific details. UPGRADE EXTERIOR LIGHTING FROM HID TO LED FIXTURES 1 LED fixtures use a fraction of the wattage conventional fixtures use, work well in cold temperatures and have much longer lifetimes. By switching to LED, savings are achieved from wattage reduction and reduced maintenance costs. For Exterior LED Lighting, Consumers Energy offers a $0.40c incentive per Watt Reduced. A 400w High Intensity Discharge being replaced by an 118w LED would be a $112 incentive. MEASURE DESCRIPTION Exterior HID (4000 hrs) EXISTING PROPOSED QUANTITY HID LED's (4000 hrs) KWH MCF COST 6 1,128 $677 $676 2 UPGRADE T12 FLUORESCENT TO T8 FLUORESCENT LIGHTING Existing T12 fluorescent systems are generally 34-watt lamps driven by magnetic ballasts. T8 fluorescent lamps are thinner than T12 lamps, range from 28 to 32 watts, and use electronic instead of magnetic ballasts. Combining T8 lamps and low energy electronic ballasts results in significant energy savings over T12 systems, while maintaining, or even improving light levels. MEASURE DESCRIPTION Interior T12 (1000 hrs) EXISTING PROPOSED QUANTITY T12 RW T8 (1000 hrs) KWH MCF COST 30 16 $48 $30 *Energy and cost savings represented in this report are based on typical usage at $8.00/MCF and $0.10/kWh.
