8 What is the SBES program? Offered through the ComEd Smart Ideas for Your Business and the Nicor Gas, Peoples Gas, and North Shore Gas Energy Efficiency Programs Available to: ComEd customers with a peak electric demand of 100kW Natural Gas customers using 60,000 therms per year Businesses must be owned or managed by an individual (non-national chain) with less than 10 businesses in the utilities service territory A simple and cost effective approach to: Empower small business owners to invest in energy efficiency Reduce operating costs through upgrades Improve marketability through environmental stewardship

Free energy assessment for most small businesses, such as: Convenience stores Coin laundry facilities Restaurants Offices Lodging Light manufacturing facilities Free installed energy saving products, such as: Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) Low-flow faucet aerators Vending machine controls Pre rinse sprayers Low-flow shower heads

11 What does the SBES program provide? A list of recommendations for energy efficiency capital investment improvements, such as: More efficient facility lighting Lighting controls Exit signs Furnace and boiler tune-ups Programmable thermostats Recommendations qualify for incentives up 70% of the cost of the efficiency improvements (depending on improvement) Installation of recommended energy efficiency capital investment improvements by a SBES Trade Ally
