Page 4 Cardiff Castle - Wednesday 8th March Woodpeckers enjoyed an exciting day at Cardiff Castle. They had a great time exploring all the parts of the castle including the Gate House and the ramparts. They enjoyed a workshop on how to become a marauding knight and were able to try on chain mail and look at the views from the top of the tower. Steam Trip - Friday 15th March Thanks to Mrs Townsend and Mrs Wilson and to all the parents for getting the children dressed up in 1940 s outfits which included gas masks and evacuation tags. Whilst at STEAM we had a rotation of activities and these included an evacuee experience where children had to be picked by hosts, air raid shelters where sirens and bombings were heard. We found out about what it was like to make do and mend, and we learnt about the Homefront and life in 1930 s and how war changed it. We were also able to meet real life evacuees and ask them questions. Lots of fun was had by all.

Page 5 Request from Robins Next term in Robins' class we are planning on turning our role play area into Percy the Park Keepers shed. We are looking for items to fill the shed: rabbits small 'old chair' wheel barrow 'old blanket' Badgers Foxes Health & Safety message squirrels mice 'old' kettle tea cosy artifical flowers old hat striped pjyamas Stuffed toys obviously!! With over 200 people entering and leaving school premises each day please could you encourage your children to walk sensibly. Can you please encourage them to stay on the pavements and not to go on the road or through the car park. KS1 Dene Magna Robins and Woodpeckers had a great deal of fun when they attended the KS1 Multi Skills Festival at Dene Magna on Friday 15th March. The event was organised by Yr 10 pupils at Dene Magna, and the children enjoyed all the different activities they were given to do.
