Engagement Blended Learning: Combines instructor-led training with pre- and post-seminar online assessments, tune-up courses and other resources to provide a more compelling, more comprehensive experience for the learner. How it Works: 1 Planning & preparation Prior to the live seminar, on-line pre-seminar materials prepare and align the individual for learning through an assessment of subject knowledge and the creation of a targeted learning plan. 2 Live Interaction Instructor-led seminar. The bulk of new learning is acquired during a live seminar led by an Instructor who is an expert in the field. During this phase, learners will refer to and apply the results and learning plan they developed in the pre-seminar course work. 3 Put into action After live training has concluded, participants complete an on-line post-seminar assessment to measure what they have learned and any remaining knowledge gaps identified in the post-seminar knowledge assessment are eliminated with targeted online tune-up courses. 10

Implementation Solutions May Include: Job Aids: A repository for information, processes, and perspectives designed to support AMA solutions before, during, and after delivery. Case Studies: In-depth investigations of relevant instances or events.an AMA subject matter expert educates program participants on the "cause and effect" and underlying principles of each case to solidify the real-world application of program content. Role Plays: The simulation of real-world circumstances gives participants an invaluable opportunity to practice the learned skills. 6. Evaluation The evaluation process is as much of a beginning as it is an end. Critical Questions: 1. Did the participants enjoy the seminar and the instructor? 2. Did their knowledge of the subject increase? 3. Has their performance improved as a result? 4. How has their improved performance effected the bottom-line? 5. ETC. -> By asking the right questions, get information needed to move forward. Evaluation Concepts: Reaction: Measure the impact of course content, and course leaders from the perspective of the participant. Knowledge Transfer: Use pre-/post-assessments to measure the amount of knowledge transferred. Performance: Use both informal and formal techniques to measure the impact training had on performance. Return-On-Investment: Identifying measures of success and then develop the tools to capture critical data. 11
