SCREEN ROOM INSTRUCTIONS Step 1 Lay out the 1 x 2 receiving channel, measure and cut to length as needed. Test fit the channel where your screen walls are going to be placed. The receiving channel at the house wall should be cut to the rooms inside roof height. Be sure the wall channel is plum to house wall. Drill 1/4 holes about 16 on center in all the receiving channel. (start holes about 2 from floor on the wall channels.) (fig 1.2) Install the front wall receiving channel first - then the sides - then the wall channel. House Wall 1 x 2 Receiving Channel at house wall 1 x 2 Receiving Channel front and side Receiving Channel Fasten screen receiving channel in place Deck installation: Use wood screws to attach receiving channel to deck Concrete installation: using a 1/4 masonary bit - drill holes in slab to align with the holes in the receiving channel. Use drive pins to attach to slab.

SCREEN ROOM INSTRUCTIONS Step 2 Mark you front receiving channel where your uprights will be placed. Try to divide the front wall into even sections if possible with openings no more than 48 O.C.. (if you are putting the door in the front wall mark where it will go first.). Locate the 2 x 3 front wall corner uprights (Fig 2-2). Cut to the height needed for the front wall (we recommend a slope of 1/4 per ft. minimum from back to front wall - remember to allow for any slope of your patio slab so your front wall is level). Place corner uprights into front track with the spline grooves facing out. Secure with (2) #8 screws (Fig 2-1) on both sides (brace upright temporarily as needed). Measure and cut the 2 x 2 uprights (Fig 2-4) Place uprights into front bottom track with spline grooves facing out and secure (Fig2-3). 2 x 3 Corner Upright 2 x 2 Uprights (total uprights depends on wall width) 2 x 3 Corner Upright Pro Tip: check the levelness of the patio slab from left to right. If not level then I adjust the height of the 2 x 3 corner upright to make the top of the front wall level. As I cut to fit the 2 x 2 uprights I continue to check to be sure my front wall stays level. spline groove (4 total) 2 x 2 Upright 2 x 3 Corner Upright Fig 2-1 Fig 2-2 Fig 2-3 spline groove (2 total) Fig 2-4

SCREEN ROOM INSTRUCTIONS Step 3 Install the 1 x 2 receiving channel (Fig 3-1) to the top of the front wall. Cut receiving channel to length and miter cut the ends at a 45 degree angle (Fig 3-2) in preparation for the side wall receiving channel. Place channel over your front wall uprights and secure with (2) #8 screws on both sides (Fig 3-3). Be sure to plumb your uprights before you attach to top channel. Pro Tip: Cut your two 1 x 2 top receiving channels for the side walls at the same time you cut the front wall top channel. (mitre cut the front end of the channel to match up with the front channel miter). Place your side top channel in place and screw to the house wall channel and corner upright to hold the front wall in place.(make sure your front wall is plumb and level before you screw in place.) house wall channel 1 x 2 top receiving channel 2 x 3 Corner Upright Front Channel 1 x 2 Receiving Channel Fig 3-1 Fig 3-2 Fig 3-3

SCREEN ROOM INSTRUCTIONS Step 4 Install Chair Rail: Measure the inside width of one of your front wall openings. Cut a piece of 2 x 2 upright (Fig 4-1) to your measurement to be used as the chair rail. Attach one clip (fig 4-2) to each of the uprights where the cross peice you cut will go (see pro tip for recommended attachment height). Place cross piece over clips (clip will slip inside of rail) with the spline grooves facing out. Screw cross peice to clips with (2) 1/2 screw. Repeat for all openings. Pro Tip: Your kick panel, once framed out, will be about 16 1/2 tall. Your foundation may slope a little so the measurement to the top of your cross channel should be between 16 1/2 to 17 1/2. I run a string level across the front wall and check my measurements before installing the clips and cross channel. Pro Tip: Work installing the cross pieces from left to right. To make fitting the cross peices over the clips easier, I unscrew the right upright, slide to the right a little, put the cross piece over the clips then move the upright back in place and re-attach. Front Channel Fig 4-2 Fig 4-1 2 x 2 cross piece (same as front wall uprights) Cross Channel Clip

SCREEN ROOM INSTRUCTIONS Step 5 Install top and bottom cross pieces: A 2 x 2 cross piece will go into the top and bottom receiving channel between each opening. Meaure and cut a cross peice (Fig 5-1) for the top and bottom of each opening. Place the cross piece inside the channel (top and bottom) with the splice grooves facing out. Screw cross pieces to channel with 1/2 screws. (one screw at each end should be enough - put one in the middle in needed). 2 x 2 cross peice 2 x 2 cross peice Pro Tip: On concrete slab installations the drive pins used to attach the bottom receiving channel to the slab may not let the bottom cross peice set all the way in the channel. To fix this mark the cross piece where the drive pins are and drill a hole in the cross peice to fit over the pins. Fig 5-1 2 x 2 cross piece (same as front wall uprights)

SCREEN ROOM INSTRUCTIONS Step 6 (installation show is for a 3 insulated Snap Lock roof system) Measure and cut the 3 wall header ( Fig 6-1) at least 2 feet longer than your wall to allow for a minimum 12 inch overhang on each side. Drill holes in the header at 16 O.C. or 24 O.C. depending on on the location of the studs or rafter tails you are screwing into. Caulk the back of the header. Attach the wall header to the house using #10 2 inch screws (make sure you are screwing into rafters or studs). Make sure header is level before attaching. Slide the first roof panel (Fig 6-2) into the header with female side in (Fig 6-3), resting the other end on the front wall. Adjust the panel for the 1 ft. overhang and adjust the front wall for plumb. Secure the panel to the header with #8 1/2 screws 1 1/2 O.C. from the top. Secure the roof panel to the front wall with two #10 x 4 screws and 1 1/2 washers. The screw goes through the roof into the top of the screeen wall. Be careful not to overtighten. Pro Tip: Get the first panel square, the front wall plumb and the correct distance from the house and the rest of the roof installation will go smoothly. 3 Roof Panel (male side) 3 Wall Header 3 Roof Panel (female side) Snap Lock Roof Panel Fig 6-1 3 Wall Header Female end Fig 6-2 Male end Fig 6-3

SCREEN ROOM INSTRUCTIONS Step 7 Install the rest of the roof panels: Place a panel as show in fig 1. ( get as close to the wall header as possible) Snap into the roof panel you already installed and then slide into the wall header. Secure panel as you did the first and then proceed with the remaining panels. Pro Tip: wipe a little cooking oil along the female end of the panel to make sliding the panels together easier. Pro Tip: Check for square and that the front wall is plumb and the front over hang is correct. If you are off a little now, by the time you get to the end you will be off a lot. Note: If one of your roof panels has a fan beam, decide where you want this panel before you start. It is easier to run your electrical wire in the beam as you are installing the panel.. rather than afterward. fan beam foam insulation Pro Tip: you many have to trim off the male side of the roof panel in order to install the side valence. Pro Tip 2: Roof panels come in 48 width. Depending on your room size you may have to trim one or two panels to acheive the proper roof size and/or placement of your fan beam. Trim the panel using a circular saw with a plywood blade - cut one side, flip over then cut the other side.

Step 8 SCREEN ROOM INSTRUCTIONS Install the side wall screen components, cutting to fit as needed: Measure and mark you screen window openings. Cut pieces to fit as needed ( Tip - cut and install one window section at a time to insure correct measurements). Attach the top receiving channel to roof with 1/2 hex head screws. Install remaining window sections from front to back. Screen Door: Determine where your screen door will be placed. Frame out the door opening with 2 x 2 screen channel. The door header is installed with clips (the same way the chair rail is attached). Make sure the spline grooves on the screen channel are facing out. Hang door and install door hardware. Note: Some installers cut and remove the 1 x 2 receiving channel under the door and lower the door to the floor. 2 x 2 Screen Channel Step 9 Install the screen: After all the frame components are installed you are ready to roll the screen into your openings. 1. Get the screen, Spline and spline roller together. 2. Cut a peice of screen a little longer than your window opening. 3. Starting on the left.. line up the edge of the screen with the left hand spline groove. 4. Using the spline roller, press the spline (flat or round spline is included). into the spline groove and roll from top to bottom mak ing sure that the screen stays evenly in the groove. 5. As you stretch the screen from left to right.. roll the screen into the right hand spline groove starting from the top and working to the bottom. 6. Roll the top of the screen into place (remember to pull and stretch while rolling. 7. Roll the bottom of the screen into the groove. 8. Cut off excess screen with a utility knife.

Step 10 SCREEN ROOM INSTRUCTIONS Install Kick Panel The standard kick panel is made up from coil stock and extruded kick plate channel. The kick plate channel is the frame and the kick panel fits inside. 1. Measure a kick panel opening 2. Cut the kick plate channel to frame the open ing ( mitered cuts look best.) 3. Cut the coil stock to fit. 4. Hold the bottom channel in place, insert the coil stock into it then screw into place with #8 1/2 screws. 5. Finish framing the coil stock with the remaining channel and screw into place. 6. Repeat for the rest of the kick panel openings. Coil Stock Kick Plate Channel Step 11 Install Side Fascia and Front Gutter Cut and install your receiver gutter, then the side valance on your roof. Cut and attach the receiver gutter to thefront of your roof first. The gutter and valance is attached to the roof panel with #8 1/2 screws about every 16. The side valance should be cut long enough to go all the way to the front of the gutter. You will have to cut the inside lips off the valance where it overlaps the gutter. Attach valance to roof panel. Caulk inside the gutter where it meets the valance. Run a peice of seam tape (included) along each roof seam to prevent leaks. Almost Done! Caulk the roof receiving channel where it attaches the wall. We recommend installing 12-24 flashing (not included) from the house to the insulated roof to help prevent leaks. Install gutter and downspouts (if ordered) or scuppers on the gutter. 3 Wall Header 3 Roof Panel 3 Roof Panel 3 Valance Caulk and trim on the screen room as needed, clean up the work area and enjoy your new screen room! 3 Receiver Gutter
