TM SLA-1500-OEM Start-Up Guide January 2016 (This guide is also for SLE configured boards) 2016 SightLine Applications, Inc. SUG-SLA-1500-OEM.PDF Cover page
PURPOSE This guide provides the steps for connecting, configuring, and testing the SLA-1500-OEM on a SLA-1500-AB (accessory board or AB ). The AB provides the standard connections for communication with the SLA-1500-OEM. The SLE family uses this same startup procedure. We recommend setting up as a standalone network or connect directly to the SLA-1500 from the Host PC. The below diagram outlines these two options. NETWORK CONFIGURATION Either of these examples require that you assign the HOST computer a static IP address. Please refer to your computer s documentation on how to assign a static address. Example #1 shown here consists of the SLA-1500- OEM, a network switch, and the HOST computer. The SLA-1500-OEM has defaulted to its pre-defined IP address of 169.254.1.180. Example #2 shows the SLA-1500-OEM connected directly to the HOST computer. NOTE: Please disable your wireless adapter if there is one present/active on the HOST computer. The SLA-1500- OEM s default IP address (when no DHCP server is available) is 169.254.1.180. Assign a static IP address to the HOST computer of 169.254.X.X, where X is 1-254 (do not use 180). Use a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. The host PC static IP address assignment is required to when no DHCP server is present. SUG-SLA-1500-OEM.PDF Page 1
SERIAL COMMUNCATIONS If a network connection cannot be established, you can optionally use the 9-pin serial connection (coupled with the 5-pin power connector). Please refer to Appendix A for further information on using this method to connect to the SLA-1500-OEM board.
