3 Installation 1. For wall mount units, install cabinet in desired location. For desk mount, install stand (included) on back of unit. 2. Mount the Distribution Module and Rath power supply with battery backup in an approved location. 3. Take one end of the Distribution Module Power Cable and plug it into the power receptacle on the Distribution Module and the other end into the Rath model RP If Zone, remove screws on back of unit and take cover off to expose internal ports. 5. Connect the Command Center to the Distribution Module A. The Command Center connects to Card 1 of the Distribution Module (see page 6) *Note: The maximum cable length to Command Center is 6200 for 22 GA cable and 3900 for 24 GA cable. B. If Command Center includes auxillary Button Console or Secondary Station, connect to the Distribution Module per the following: 1. Button Console 1 (16-64 Zone) or Secondary Station (10 Zone): (See page 6) 2. Button Console 2 ( zone) or Secondary Station ( Zone) : Locate additional DKP port(s) on additional card and wire out with appropriate pair for extension on port. 6. Connecting Locations to the VoIP System A. Take WAN of Distribution Module and plug into available data port. B. Plug VoIP endpoints into POE ports on same network as VoIP card port. *Note: If not using POE units, connect phones to ethernet port and apply external power to units as well. C. Cat 5E or Cat 6E is the minimum standard cabling for the system *Note: Local and/or state codes may have additional cabling requirements. Please check with your local AHJ. 7. Turn on RP Power On the Distribution Module pg. 2

4 VoIP Card Programming If network information is provided to Rath at time of purchase, no additional information needs to be entered for the VoIP card. If network information is NOT provided, the following needs to be performed: 1. Connect Ethernet Port (one closest to power switch) of Distribution Module to PC using Ethernet Cable 2. Change Computer IP Address A. Navigate to Control Panel B. Navigate to Network Settings C. Change IP to default IP Address range of Distribution Module Recommended is D. Change Subnet Mask Default is Turn off wireless card on Computer (If Applicable) 4. Log into Distribution Module A. Enter into web browser Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is recommended B. Login with Login: SE and Password: Rath7284! 5. Entering VoIP Information A. Navigate to VoIP Configuration from left side menu B. Click drop-down arrow, more menu options should appear C. Click VoIP Port Parameters 6. Entering Server Information A. Navigate to WAN Port Settings B. Enter SIP Server IP Address for IP Address C. Enter Subnet Mask of SIP Server for Subnet Mask D. Enter Router IP Address for Default Gateway E. Click Submit Note: If multiple VoIP cards are being installed, a static IP address must be assigned for EACH card. pg. 3

5 Distribution Module Programming *Note: All programming for the Distribution Module will be done from the Command Center Handset. Programming Time Zone 1. Enter programming mode A. Dial 1#91 B. Enter Password: (time zone code) Eastern 111 Central 112 Mountain 113 Pacific Touch Check Mark Button in middle of Command Center Phone 4. Exit programming - Dial 00 - Touch Check Mark Button Programming Month Day Year 1. Enter programming mode A. Dial 1#91 B. Enter Password: (Month- Day- Year) Example: (February 15, 2011) 3. Touch Check Mark Button 4. Exit Programming - Dial 00 - Touch Check Mark Button Programming Time 1. Enter programming mode A. Dial 1# B. Enter Password: (Hours Min Sec) Example: (2:30 p.m.) 3. Touch Check Mark Button 4. Exit Programming Dial 00 - Touch Check Mark Button Programming External Phone Number 1. Press Speaker Phone Button A. Dial 1, 3, 4 B. Dial 9, then External Phone Number C. Press #, * Note: If Emergency Phone is dialing Command Center only, skip this step. pg. 4

6 VoIP Call Box Programming Connect the VoIP Call Box to an active Port on Distribution Module and follow the instructions below: VoIP Call Box Calls the Command Center 1. For the VoIP Call Box to call the Command Center, it must be programmed to dial 0 2. Follow the directions that came with the VoIP Call Box to program Memory Location 1 to dial 0 VoIP Call Box Calls a Number Outside of the Building 1. For the VoIP Call Box to call a number outside the building, it must be programmed to first dial Follow the directions that came with the VoIP Call Box to program Memory Location 1 to dial 3931 VoIP Call Box Calls the Command Center First then a Number Outside of the Building 1. The VoIP Call Box can be programmed to call the Command Center first and if that call is not answered, call an outside number 2. Follow the directions that came with the VoIP Call Box to program Memory Location 1 to dial 0 3. Then program Memory Location 2 to dial 3931 VoIP Call Box Location Message If you require the Location Message set-up as follows: 1. Set message frequency to option 3. In the message recording, state the unit s location followed by: To begin 2-way communication press * Operating Instructions Indicator Status 1. Red LED Light Incoming call or connected to Outside Party 2. Blue LED Light Active Call 3. Blue LED Flashing Call on Hold Answering Call at Command Center 1. Lift Handset to answer first incoming call 2. Press Call Answer Button 1 3. If multiple calls, press subsequent Call Answer Buttons 2, 3, etc... (this will place previous calls on hold) 4. To rejoin a call on hold, press Flashing Blue LED next to desired location Disconnect Calls 1. Select the desired Flashing Blue LED and press the *, # buttons 2. Each call must be disconnected individually Note: If you hang up handset before disconnecting each call, LED(s) will remain lit. Lift Handset, press lit LED, then *, #. To disconnect, hang up handset. Repeat for each lit LED. Calling a Location 1. Pick up Handset and press desired Location key (Blue LED will light) Taking Control of Conversation between Location and Outside Party 1. Pick up Handset and press Red LED, then 5 button Note: Outside Party is placed on hold until Command Center is hung up, then Location is reconnected to Outside Party. To disconnected press *, # buttons. Call the Last Location that Dialed Out 1. Pick up the Handset and Dial 1092 pg. 5

8 Card Wiring for VoIP System A. On back of Distribution Module, remove two screws on top left and right and slide cover off unit to expose internal cards. B. On top of each card there is a table indicating port usage. 1. SLT is the port used for connecting Hardwired Call Boxes 2. DKP is the port used for connecting Command Center phone(s) 3. TWT is the port used for outside telco line C. The first card installed will always be: 1. Port 1: (S01-S04) Connection for 4 Hardwired Call Boxes 2. Port 2: (S05-S06) Connection for 2 Telco Lines 3. Port 3: (S07-S08) Connection for 2 Command Center Phones D. 9 Card Wiring for Zone VoIP System A. Each card installed will have 6 ports on each card. B. Each slot is labeled below indicating what type of slot it is. 1. S01-S are the port(s) used for connecting Hardwired Call Boxes 2. The TD(1-2)(3-4) with a dot under the D is the port used for connecting Command Center phone(s) 3. TD(1-2)(3-4) with a dot under the T is the port used for outside telco line C. The first card installed will always be: 1. Port 1: (S01-S04) Connection for 4 Hardwired Emergency Phones 2. Port 2: (S05-S08) Connection for 4 Hardwired Emergency Phones 3. Port 3: (S09-S12) Connection for 4 Hardwired Emergency Phones 4. Port 4: (S13-S16) Connection for 4 Hardwired Emergency Phones 5. Port 5: (D1-2) Connection for Command Center Phone and Button Console (If Using) 6. Port 6: (T1-2) Connection for up to 2 outside Telco Lines D.
