Thursday Notes October 13, 2016 As announced by Pope Francis, Archbishop Blase J. Cupich is a cardinal-designate and will be among the 17 new cardinals created at the consistory on November 19, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Peter in Vatican City. Please keep Archbishop Cupich in your prayers during this historic event. Please join us as we pray the Sorrowful Mystery of the Rosary on Tuesday, October 18 th beginning at 12:45 p.m. You are also invited to join the students at the regular 8:00 a.m. Parish Liturgy next Wednesday, October 19 th. Please keep in your prayers all the souls of the faithfully departed. This Sunday, October 16, 2016 we celebrate our St. Constance Parish 100 th Anniversary! Please join us for the concelebrated bi-lingual Mass at 12:30 p.m. followed by a reception in the parish Handzel Center. The celebration will continue at the Chateau Ritz Banquet Hall. Next week is Breast Cancer Awareness Week. Included in today s folder please find information regarding specific activities scheduled for throughout the week. Thank you for your recent participation in our school s Scholastic Book Fair. A net profit of $985.00 was earned for the school. Thank you again to Ms. Margaret Tanikowska and Mrs. Kelly Mikrut for overseeing and running this event. Congratulations are extended to Angelica Santaliz who is the winner of our September Box Tops Contest and recipient of an Out of Uniform Coupon. Angelica collected 102 Box Tops, with an overall collection of 469 in September. We seem to have a growing collection of lost and found items. If you believe your child is missing something, please check in the school office. I urge everyone to take a moment and label your child s items, so that they may be returned to the rightful owner.

I would also like to ask for everyone to please review the uniform dress code in the Parent- Student Handbook. Many students are not in compliance and are wearing various versions of clothing. I am asking for parent s assistance in this matter. Thank you for your cooperation. Make sure to attend the Home and School Association s Fall Festival on Saturday, October 29 th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Bring out the entire family and join other school families for an evening of fun. The evening consists of a light dinner followed by many exciting activities. Tickets are $7.00/person if purchased by October 24 th or $9.00/person at the door. Children 2 and under are free. Please keep in mind that all children need to be accompanied by an adult. Hope to see you there! Please join us for our traditional Halloween Parade on Monday, October 31, 2016 beginning at 12:45 p.m. As the Christian perspective on the observance of Halloween is divided, it is mandatory that all costumes be in good taste and sensitive to all opinions. Students will not be able to wear costumes resembling witches, ghosts, skeletons, vampires, mummies, monsters, etc. In addition, no masks or props resembling any forms of violence or negative connotation will be allowed. If a child is dressed inappropriately, they will need to call home for a change of clothes and will not be able to participate. Please remember when sending treats for classroom celebrations, to not send any items containing peanut products. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Tomorrow is our scheduled Special Lunch and Raffle day. Please keep in mind that if you did not preorder a lunch for your child to please send one from home as there will be no regular Food Service provided. We would like to extend our thanks to the Pilch and Rzepka families for sharing the delicious treats with us. They were enjoyed by all. Have a pleasant weekend. Sincerely, Eva M. Panczyk
